Anthony Davis Scores 40 Points in 2012 Kentucky Alumni Game (VIDEO)

The big man goes off.

Needless to say, top NBA Draft pick Anthony Davis faced very little resistance in this game. Davis showed out by pouring in 40 easy points on a variety of athletic plays.

Anthony Davis didn’t graduate and therefore is not an alumnus but a former student

He won the team a national title…who cares if he graduated

I have to admit. I am pleasantly surprised that out of all these comments I don’t see one “haterish” thing being said. Now that’s odd considering that this is Anthony Davis, a person it seems people love to hate. LOL. But anyway I hope and pray this guy has a successful year in the league. I’m always thrilled to see underdogs rise above others’ expectations.

An alumnus dose not only refer to a graduate of a particular school/university, but to a former student as well. Look it up.

(George Costanza voice) “I HATE THE DRAKE!!”

  • Armzilla40

Ron Mercer could have scored 40 with defense like that…

  • cbb_fanatic

No “haterish” comments? I spoke too soon. It was an alumni game…RELAX. It’s for charity.

  • Armzilla40

I wasn’t trying to hate, i didn’t know it was a charity game. I figured an alumni game would be a bit more competitive that’s all. I don’t think Anthony Davis can be considered an underdog in the league after being drafted #1 and on the USA Olympic squad. He might be thought of as “too skinny in a big mans league” but Kevin Durant heard that when he was drafted too. Let’s hope Davis proves people wrong like KD!

  • cbb_fanatic

My mistake! And you’re right. They WERE putting down KD saying his weight would hold him back but look how far he has come. I believe that AD will do the same. I can’t say he will surprise people because the only ones who don’t think he’ll accomplish much are those who didn’t like him in the first place, whether it was because he played for Coach Cal, because Kentucky beat their team, or because he soared to No.1.
