Shump proves you can’t dunk the iPhone 5.

Watch Iman Shumpert take the new iPhone 5 for a very destructive test drive. In related news, that ACL is looking great.

good to see he can get up. but i don’t find this funny, i know guys can do whatever they want with their money, in the case noc, but still, feed some homeless popele with that money

  • Ugh

    Good call.

  • c.a.

What a total d1ck. Yeah, you have tremendous wealth. But fact is, loser purposefully pre-ordered or queued for it, just to do this. Happy to see that just because people are rich, doesn’t mean they have any brains whatsoever. Zero respect…and he thinks this passes as funny.

  • BETCATS

Nice to see everyone here is an expert in telling other people how they should spend their money. Unrelated: how many of you donate to charity? I was amused by it.

  • zogs19994

    YESSS RROCKING THE HIGH-TOP FADE
    LEGGOOOOO

  • Downtown

I thought it was pretty amusing myself… If its his money why the heck shouldn’t be do what he wants with it? You may not have thought it was funny but don’t turn a simple movie trying to have some fun into a trashing of his character. On top of that the phone was probably provided by NOC so there you go…

  • alex

    I hate the 1%

  • Redd

What a Knick. Welcome to the 1st world I guess, where people just don’t have appreciation.

  • zogs19994

    Your retarded

  • zogs19994

    stop crying baby

look at this guy on his high horse

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

Thank You. Its unbelievable how fast people are to judge through their computer screen when in reality they walk by that homeless guy every day without giving him a dime.

  • theDankerNuggets

yeah he’s rich so this seems messed up but i like the overall message of this ITS AN EFFIN PHONE!!! stop holding it up as some amazing piece of technology that it is benifiting mankind in any way

  • Redd

High horse? Because I recognize how useless this action is? Unlike you I’ve been trying to (god hoping I also have) making a difference in the world. Who’s really on their high horse?

The guy who thinks he’s calling someone out with no reason to, or the guy who recognizes something messed up? You idiot.

  • Redd

You’re an annoying moron, how are you calling people out asking if they’ve done anything for others, yet you don’t know them? You’re ignorant, stop trying to be holier than thou.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

Thats right I forgot that you are perfect. I apologize.

  • EJ

An iphone costs like 200$, so stop acting like he’s gonna end world hunger with that.

  • spit hot fiyah

didn’t i just write that they can do whatever they want with their money? i just find it sad, that’s all

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

im not trying to be holier than thou…im telling you to stop being holier than thou…

  • Downtown

No, you sir, are the idiot. What someone does for charity or what difference they make is one’s own decision. Worst of all you assume Iman Shumpert is all awful just because he trashed an iPhone 5. He is a very generous guy as a matter of fact so you just go and make a difference and stop worrying about others

  • cpmike

mad people judging if you watch the video properly it’s a promo type ad. at the end he is shocked when the people tell him to break the iphone 5. he even says he fells bad so stop jumping to conclusions

  • Teddy-the-Bear

You’re right of course… but what do you expect from a country that thinks Conan O’Brien losing the Tonight Show was the biggest tragedy of 2010? The same shitty country that has 6 vacant houses for every homeless person… but still manages to have 1.6 million children living without shelter?
I feel you though… that is sad. Although, Iman Shumpert is hardly the problem.

  • Redd

Um, when did I say he’s awful? I said he has no appreciation. Doesn’t mean he’s awful nor that I think he is, I think this was a stupid thing. Children in China die from laboring to create these things. That’s a fact, idk about “VERY” generous but I’m sure he does donate, I don’t doubt that. Every celebrity donates, it shouldn’t be seen as an accomplishment when they have millions, it should be normalcy.

Now you sir, don’t know what you’re talking about and should shut up.

  • Redd

No problem, long as you realized it. Didn’t have a rebuttal, so you just went with the “make him out to look arrogant” path huh? Funny.

  • Redd

How is that? By calling out everyone for recognizing that children die from labor in making stuff like this?

You’re one of the idiots that help in desensitizing society by minimalizing harm.

  • KBM

    Mike Gilbert pls stfu.

  • MikeC.

Seems like we have some peops here that aren’t yet old enough to understand how sarcasm works. Hang in there, most people usually start grasping the idea of sarcasm around the age of 1q.

  • MikeC.

    11. not 1q

  • BrownJesus

Make a video about an apple product and all the hippies come out protesting…

  • Ugh

I do, despite the fact I probably have the lowest income of anyone who comments on Slam. I also worked to years as a volunteer co-ordinator for a homeless charity.

  • bob

If you donate to charity, contribution is going to be negligible to most causes, and you’re really not going to make a difference. The only reason you should ever donate is to feel good about yourself. Which, I guess, is why people donate to begin with, but they always seem to think they aren’t doing it for themselves.

  • Trilla

The fact that some people found this as humorous or saw this as “hey man the guy can do whatever he wants with his money” essentially shows the point that society has gotten to. We as a species are horrible disgusting beings, that is all.

  • Billy Hoyle

Way to go Redd!! @Mike Gilbert – You sound just like a 47%’er with your comments.

  • the_unknown

    it’s just a phone.

  • Coronel

You guys obviously haven’t seen “Will it Blend?”
Anyone can do whatever they want.

  • Marcos Garcia

and heres me just buying the iphone 3 #fml

  • zogs19994

LOL i just realized that REDD YOUR A LIL BITCH EH?

  • Redd

YEA way to try to be witty! Mike has his opinion, which is fine. I have my own, mines is that people are desensitized by thinking this is nothing.

I think it is, because children have died from child labor in China. Thus, I think you guys are insensitive jerks who are trying to find humor in something that’s an atrocity. It’s children I’m arguing for.

  • Redd

You’re an idiot, it’s not even about the money, it’s about the lack of care for what it entails.

  • zogs19994

Everybody hates me… including myself. I am the single worst commenter in SLAM history.

  • LobCity

@Redd Who are you to judge people. You may have an opinion and you’re more than welcome to share, but there’s no need to suggest what you say is fact or call people names. Simply voice your displeasure with his actions and allow others the freedom to express their opinion.

  • Redd

Um sorry to break it to you, but all humans judge naturally.

Anyways, I did state I have my own opinion. BUT, it’s a fact that trashing an expensive stuff is idiotic & makes no sense not to mention Children in China have died laboring over creating devices. I won’t front like I don’t have an iPhone but I won’t go off destroying it either.

One last thing, the iPhone costs $600 dollars. Now imagine if he burned a pile of $600. How would you react then? I’ll leave it at that.

  • Some Guy

Everyone saying Shum is being reckless/selfish/careless with his money, wouldn’t the NOC have paid for this?

  • danpowers

nah, you are second to the chinese oppenheimer

  • danpowers

there is a valid point. but on the other hand: the real idiots are those who buy this crap. produced by exploted labor mostly in third world countries but celebrated as the “stylish” and “hip” anti product to the “mainstream” while that apple crap is way too expensive and technologically inferior to most comparable products. everybody has the right to buy it anyway, sure, but everybody has also the right to point out something stupid as soon as he sees it. id laugh my butt off, if guys like bill gates, marc cuban oder mikhail prokhorov would buy thousands of them to burn em in public just to have a laugh

  • danpowers

totally cosign ur point. on the other hand, there aint many products / companies that fool their customers as much as that apple crap does. it would be a public sign / demonstration to burn thousands of these lil hell mashines in public to make a statement lol
