John Wall Summer 2012 Mixtape (VIDEO)

The Wiz Kid looks ready for the season.

Wizards point guard John Wall has played plenty of bball this summer—at everywhere from Reebok camps to the Drew League to charity events—and our homies over at BallisLife compiled his best highlights and put together a summer 2012 mixtape for the Wiz Kid, which you can peep above. JWall looks awfully ready for the ’12-13 season, if you ask us.

I see it’s already time for the annual “Wow Wall looked good in summer pickup games, this must be his breakout season!” mix tape. With that said, his handle looks great.

Nail on the head man, exact same story as last year, lets see what he does against top tier talent, hopefully cut down on the turnovers and nail a few jumpers.

  • RKJ92

He’s ridiculously explosive! I see him going for about 20-3-9 and about 1.7 steals this year which I think is pretty reasonable.. I just hope hes able to better his field goal % and consistantly hit 3′s in order to really take his game to the next level

  • Junior Taylor

Wall fades too much on his jumper. Remember LeBron used to do the same earlier in his career and it wasn’t until he tweaked it that he became a very good shooter.

  • bike

Still looks like he has no 3-pt shot, trashy jumper, and he won’t be doing any of that slick sh*t come regular season. Still, fun to watch–just hope he is putting in some serious time with a good trainer.

  • CubicleWorker

LeBron is a very good shooter?

  • Tommy

He’s got a very raw game; it looks good in pickup games. I’ll tell u what: I’d rather have kyrie running the show any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

  • daBIZ

Absolutely. He doesn’t need to improve his explosiveness, handle, or youtube highlight package. This guy should be on the court with a shooting coach and more talented players than himself.

  • CubicleWorker

Also ease up on Wall, last year he was a second year PG without a single teammate worth mentioning… let’s see how he does over the next 2 or 3 years with a decent supporting cast

  • Fat Lever

That’s cool he can dunk and all, but he needs serious work on his j. He may be working on it, he may not be. But when you get clowned by a 3 star HS recruit and his crew for your jumper, you’d better be working on it.

  • RKJ92

    Umm..? Pretty sure he is..

    FG% 0.531 3FG% 0.362

  • RKJ92

and dont tell me its because he posted up on every single possession because that would be a flat out lie, secondly if you tell us its because hes been working alott more in the post this year ya I would give you that much but that doesnt FULLY account for FG% 0.531 3FG% 0.362 you still need to be a very good shooter.. suggest you watch his games from the playoffs when miami faced the knicks and he shot the LIGHTS OUT.

  • Junior Taylor

Wall needs to study Westbrook’s mid-range game and implement that pull-up shot Russ uses so well into his game.

  • brian scalabrine

forget all that noise about him not being able to shoot. idk if ive ever seen anyone with the ability to jump off left, right, or both feet like him. freakish

  • shockexchange

The fact that John Wall would even put this mixtape together tells the Shock Exchange where his head is. His HS days where Rivals and Scout.com doubled as his PR department are over. No more ____ ridin’ this kid simply for being in the L. Either put up or shut up.

  • CubicleWorker

Great you are familiar with how to use wikipedia… James shot .477 against the knicks and considering how often he posts up I wouldn’t consider that a “very good shooter” or “LIGHTS OUT”. I’m sure there are advanced statistics out there determining mid-range field goal %’s etc

  • Omar

Turns “Don’t Believe The Hype” by Public Enemy way up.

  • http://twitter.com/AjpDos Allen Powell

Well based on the stats from hoopsdata.com, which tracks shot locations and provides comparisons to League average, LeBron is a very good shooter for a small forward. He exceeds the League average in shooting percentage from every distance measured despite taking way more shots than most players.

  • RKJ92

Did you even watch that series bro? like im all for stats but he was hardly posting at all unless it was a fadaway jumper from the post and even then thats still a shot all his posting came after the first round when they faced indiana, boston, and okc, in the knicks series all he did was jack mid range shots in the defenders faces often drawing a foul in the same play he was literally beastly.. nobody on the knicks could guard him and thats why he dropped 28 points a game with 35% shooting from the 3 point line so I have no clue where you get that he isnt a very good shooter from.. you should really rethink that arguement..

  • Junior Taylor

So you think that John Wall himself put this mixtape together? Come on son.

ONLY 3 n the league avg 16/8 last season ..CP3/DWill and JOHN WALL …the kid is fine …DWill won the same number of games last yr people aint sayin he garbage …u aint got a team good enuff to win u wont ..no matter how great u play

  • RKJ92

THANKYOU these kids I swear.. hey cubicle THE LIGHTS OUT bro! LOL

  • LakeShow

  • datkid

I love watching sh*t like this but i just pray homie’s working on his jumper. right now he’s already faster and more explosive than anybody not named westbrook, so he better be jacking up at least 400 shots a day smh

  • datkid

on an unrelated note I think Wall and Steph Curry or Eric Gordon would play incredibly well together

  • shockexchange

You think John Wall never saw this mixtape before it was released? Like the Shock Exchange said earlier, it totally shows where Wall’s head it.

  • DJWillis

And the award for new poster who get’s the most defensive at any comment not in agreeance with his opinion goes to…

  • RKJ92

You mad? Sound like a hater to me.. :)

  • Mojeed Ewuosho

But can he take the wiz to the playoffs i say detroit and the bucks 7 and 8 or bucks and wiz

  • sws20

We have to realize that his fg % is so high because he gets to the rim at ease and is very good there. His jumper though improved ISN’T “very good”

  • roscoe

The John Wall Interview @ Rebook Breakout Challenge 2012 on youtube is just like this mixtape, scripted by J.Wall.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    No he didn’t.

  • RKJ92

Sooooo clearly you havent clicked allen p’s link in his post -.-’

  • CubicleWorker

Thumbs down? Really? lol. I remember the last time this debate came up I looked up their roster. In addition to Andre Blatche I think they had Chris Singleton, Roger Mason Jr? Wall was like 20 years old putting up 16, 8 with the D-League all-star squad. People that hate on John Wall are the same people that think D Rose isn’t a top 5 PG

this kid could be the next Dwyane Wade he really has the potential and the skill he just needs the right team and mindset to take it to that next level

  • GanjahLuv

Besides shoot…what does Kyrie do better? I dont see anything.
