Shooting Touch Mentors Teens Through Basketball (VIDEO)

‘Basketball Peace Corps’ creating social change through hoops.

Over the past 10 months, Shooting Touch grant winner Leah Westbrook traveled to South Africa and Zimbabwe to effect positive social change in disadvantaged communities through basketball. The former Mount St. Mary’s forward commemorated her experience with the video presentation above. The “Basketball Peace Corps” recently held its third annual gala at Reebok World HQ in Canton, MA, (see photo below) and will be sending two grantees overseas in next year’s Sabbatical Program.

so cool, the fact that these kids aren’t playing for anything but fun. there are so many times when i just wanna sit inside instead of work on the talent I’ve been given and this inspires me to always make it fun cause not every kid gets the opportunity i have. So great to see this. Thank you.
