I thought this kid would take a while to become a factor. I may have been wrong.
Damn, I see the Bobcats were playing everyone last night… First the Heat in a home game at NC State, then Detroit in the D!!! Guess they do need all the practice they can get.
Can anyone see drummond a wildcard roy?
Werent the Bobcats playing the heat…?
No. I like him and he’ll do allot of good things, but he won’t be anything better than 3rd runner up. He’s a project still. Very raw.
hes definitely not looking like a scrub. by the looks of it, some nba teams might be upset they passed up on him
lol i wanna c him dunk on dwight
Agreed on that. #9 coulda been #3 or 4.
Very easy to dunk on the Bobcats but I’m impressed so far with Drummond. Joe Dumars may have saved his job with that pick.
The Bobcats, playing the Heat and the Pistons at the same damn time *future’s voice*
Golden state coulda used a big man. But ehh they had to get barnes I guess
not easy on biyombo, pretty good shot blocker
Barnes is legit. I’d take him over Drummond.
have you not been watching Drummond in the preseason? He looks better than everyone. He really could end up the 2nd best player from this draft. Just like he was supposed to exactly a year ago.
Just highlights. Haven’t watched him play a whole game.
Have you not been watching Barnes?
He could be ROY, but I see, Davis, Barnes, Lillard having better rook seasons. Hence why I said he could end up as high as 3rd in voting. We shall see I suppose.
.I watched the Warriors play 1 preseason game, and Barnes does look good. Wasn’t arguing that.
.Not that I think you are necessarily wrong, just that Drummond is probably better than you are anticipating
Notice, Drummond is doing that in 17.5 minutes.
Definitely very impressive. Great news for Detroit basketball. (ugh that chant was annoying, glad they suck so we don’t have to hear that)
He could beast and put up 14-10-2 which would put him into contention for rook of the year. I still think Ad will have simialr or better stats and success along with Lillard and Barnes rounding out the top 3. Drummond in my guess will be more like a 10-7-1.5 guy this year. Which is very good for a rook.
i’m with you. i do think Drummond will finish ahead of Barnes in the voting if he makes his way into the starting lineup in Det. But other than that, i’m completely with you.
Threw down a vicious dunk over the Bobcat’s what!?!
As a Pistons fan,I am very cautios about starting him and playing him.He is super athletic and all,but he lacks basic fundamentals, for example proper box-outs,which is resembled in his poor defensive rebounding numbers. In some games he looked a little lost on offense.Of course he is a great talent, but lets keep it real:He is still a 19-year old rookie center.
Good point, he is grabbing 6 defensive rebounds per 36 minutes. Which is the same rate as Amar’e Stoudemire
wait a tick, Amare Stoudemire was a ROY. Nevermind….
He avgs 2.3 rebounds on the defensive end in 17,5 min. What 6 per 36 def rebounds are you talking about?
– take his 2.3 rebounds in 17.5 minutes and stretch it into how many rebounds he would get in 36 minutes — the exact number = 4.7311 rebounds.– my bad, i originally hit the 6 in the first comment not the 5. just noticed that.
Because if you go with Amares rookie numbers, than he averages almost 2 defensive rebounds per 36 more, which to me validates my point. But who cares,it’s still preseason,he is a great guy, hope he breaks out for my Pistons.
And sorry for my english and all the mistakes.
don’t stress about that, i understand.
i was just drawing a comparison. surely you are counting on Drummond improving the more he plays right? the kid is what 20? he’s going to get better. as long as his confidence isn’t torn to shreds.
Nice, I love seeing this from rookies at this time of the year, good luck kid.
I think you are forgetting about Jonas V on the Raptors
A few dunks here and there and everybody’s on the bandwagon.
Everybody knew he can throw down, it was obvious that coming to the NBA he would get those cos the lane much more open than in the NCAA.
He should be good, but I just don’t see him being more than a 10 and 7 guy and all this ROY talk cmon man
Meyers Leonard is going to be good as well really like that guy
Good call… Always forget about those previous draft rookies.
