Keith Bogans Fouls Leandro Barbosa By Grabbing His Neck (VIDEO)

No easy layups in Brooklyn.


Keith Bogans put Leandro Barbosa in a chokehold last night, as he flagrantly-fouled the Bosto Celtics’ guard during a fastbreak.

    I think the foul looked worse than it actually was. He made a play on Barbosa’s arms and tried to wrap him up, but Barbosa’s momentum caused Bogan’s left arm to slide up towards his neck. Bogans continuing to hold Barbosa by his neck was actually the right thing to do because Barbosa would have landed on his head/back otherwise. It was definitely a hard foul, but not maliscious in my opinion.

    It maybe looked worse then it was but it was still a obvious flagrant. No attempt at all to play the ball and excessive contact )above the shoulders/neck area). And if he made this foul on Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Chris Paul etc. it would have been called a flagrant without a doubt.

    Agreed, definitely warrants a flagrant, I just hope it doesn’t lead to a fine or a suspension.

    Flagrant for sure! At what point did it become ok to grab player when they are running full speed? This is an easy way to really get someone hurt and it happens way to often in the league. You can go for the ball, commit a clean hard foul and still make sure there is no “and one” continuation, without grabbing someone.

    My best friend snapped his vertebrae diving into a wave. So if I see anything around the neck I know the importance of how anything can happen in a situation involving someones neck and also how fragile it can be. And tht did look bad. He should of gotten a flagrant. Don’t think he deserves suspension but come on. Didnt play at the ball and pretty much wrapped him around the neck.

    Why not try and block the layup? He had the angle and could have at least tried. That’s just a lazy and potentially dangerous foul.
