Jeremy Lin Beats the Knicks in First Return to New York (VIDEO)

The former Knick hands New York its first home loss.

After receiving a polite ovation from the Madison Square Garden faithful in his first game back in New York, Jeremy Lin went out and torched his former team (22 points, 8 assists), as he led the visiting Houston Rockets to an easy 109-96 win.

jLin is not a fluke & jkidd and felton are better fits for NY and Melo.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

    Well said!

  • MrSuper

A more than solid NBA point guard with a bright future ahead of him.

all hard work and no talent/style. i trully hate this type of individuals who succeed…

    Not according to JR Smith.

    What..?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509819249 Gaurav P.

Way to stick it to Melo/JR. Loved it.

Also, did anyone catch Lin saying that the Knicks are missing key players due to injuries, with the main one being Shumpert (i.e., not Melo)? Well done, young man.

22 and 8 is good against your old team with emotions flowing and a couple stars not playing on the opposing team..but hes still a fluke to me till he does something like this consistently. I dont expect 22 pg im just saying like 14 and 8 with less T.O.s

  • LakeShow

You call an NBA starter a fluke??

I think you mean to say, he’s overrated or something…

He averages 11-6-4-2 in 32 mins. He’s a solid player.

  • Redd

    Lol…

  • Redd

He isn’t by any means great. Not when his former teammate is outplaying him.

well lets not get carried away with the term “Starter” that term is very subjective.because i know some people in NBA that SHOULD be starting and also some that SHOULDNT..because from watching majority of the games recently that lin played in , they usually have him sit a good portion of the 4th qtr and have Toney Douglas take his place..but i get what your saying, i wouldnt go as far as solid, but hes definitely coming along.

  • https://twitter.com/Wayne__o BuenoWayno1

J Lin is shooting 39% (FG) 25%(3p) 6 Assists is ok but he also turns gets 3TO a game which kinda negates the APG. Those numbers don’t say “solid starter” to me.

  • LakeShow

    He’s shooting 41% fg’s.

    30% 3 pointers.

6 ast, with 3 TO is high, but it’s not obscene.

  • LakeShow

I carried the term starter no where.
    Is Derek Fisher a starter?
    Is Allen Iverson?
    Tracy McGrady?
    Lin is a solid player.
Maybe not a solid starter{yet}, but a solid player he is.
I just didn’t appreciate calling an NBA player a fluke. You don’t fluke your way into the NBA.

  • LaLa

So you prefer guys that succeed off just talent with no hard work at all?? lol

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Lin’s assist-to-turnover numbers are FAR better than Kyrie Irving’s and almost identical to Steph Curry’s and Damian Lillard’s . . .

  • Redd

No..just no. Don’t compare Lin to Lillard & Irving lol.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

The point is that his ast/TO ratio is actually quite good… as being over 2:1 doesn’t “negate the APG” like the wiseguy up there said.
I donno, maybe you’d prefer it if he compared Lin’s ast/TO ratio to Steve Novak’s instead of, you know, other guys who play the same position.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Read my comment again. Then read your stupid comment again. Then let it marinate for an hour or so. Writing “lol” after an idiotic comment doesn’t make it any less idiotic. Your lack of intelligence worries me . . .

  • Bored

    can you read?

  • Redd

No I caught that, but the implication to me seemed to state that he’s in league with those guys at the PG position. Apparently it’s idiotic to have had differentiated in perception, lol.

  • Bored

    you don’t sound stupid…

  • Redd

    No, what did you say?

  • Redd

LOL @ people freaking out. He seemed to(me) imply that since his A to TO numbers were better than/identical to Lillards & Irvings that he was on the same platform. No..he’s also averaging less minutes keep in mind.

    He’s not a top PG.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

My comment was exactly 1.5 lines. If you can specify where you got lost within those 1.5 lines, we can sound out the difficult words and put an end to this differentiation in perception.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Buenowayno1 commented on how Lin’s turnovers negate his decent assist pers saying that they weren’t “solid starter” numbers. All I did was bring up 3 exceptional starters with comparable and even worse assist-to-turnover numbers. At no point did I mention Lin being anywhere close to them in talent, athleticism, or potential. That’s when you went full retard.
And then instead of acknowledging your mistake, you try to defend it by saying that “he’s also averaging less minutes keep in mind”. What does averaging less minutes have to do with your assist to turnover ratio?!

  • Bored

just say…”I misunderstood the comment, I’m wrong”.

  • Redd

Or that I’m not wrong? Lol, I’m not an egotistical person, if I’m wrong I say so & have done so. But I’m not wrong to have an opinion that’s valid. Now try to shut up & get over it.

  • Redd

Means you have less of a chance to turn it over? Idiot. I said the implication to me seemed as though you were saying he’s not doing as bad those guys PG wise & it was what you meant…the implication was quite obvious.

Now if you’re saying that his assist/turnover isn’t that bad..well it is so either way my point is valid.

  • https://twitter.com/jasontichenor Mr. Wet

    sarcasm guys. stay with it.

  • Bored

less minutes also means less chance to get assists. assist to turnover ratio is a guide that has nothing to do with minutes. so yes, you are wrong. and dont tell people what they mean when they say things. especially when they have told you what they meant several times.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

You’re officially missing you’re 21st chromosome!!! Less minutes impacts totals and averages, NOT ratios. That’s like saying less minutes impacts ft% because there’s less chances to miss shots. Redd, you’re completely embarrassing yourself! I’d say “just stop”, but it’s waaaaay too late for that.

  • bill

Apparently, those “weak” numbers are all it takes to blowout the Knicks twice in a row.

  • bill

What was his stat line?(5 pts, 3 rebs) Maybe that can speak for him instead of his mouth.

  • bill

    Sam Bowie :)

  • bill

Shout out to the one Knicks player that had a better stat line than Lin this (29 pts, 5 rebs, 0 asts)game…Chris Copeland.

    Redd says he’s great.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Redd acting like “he knows what I meant” is absolutely hilarious! After taking an additional 8 lines to break down a simple 1.5 lines, he’s still lost and spewing none sense!

  • Bored

lol…im relatively new here and this is the first time i have experienced it. the amount of comments and votes he has seems like he should understand simple things like assist/turnover ratios but im beginning to realize that there are several people on here who dont live up to the Disqus status.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Welcome, Bored! This site has quite a few real basketball heads who are insightful and knowledgable about the game. Then there are a few commentors like Redd who don’t read with the intent to understand; they read with the intent to reply.

  • Bored

Thanks! its a shame about dudes like that but i have had great discussions with people on here and learned much from them.

  • LakeShow

This post made me laugh too hard.
Something about the phrase “full retard” that sets me off.

  • LakeShow

Haven’t a clue WTH this could possibly mean.

  • Redd

With fricking Harden, Asik, Parsons on your team? Ok.

  • Redd

    None sense.

  • Redd

    “The disqus status”..wth.

  • Bored

    huh?

  • Bored

i apologize, i meant “their Disqus status”. but yeah completely ignore the other part of the comment.
