LaMarcus Aldridge Beats Dallas Mavericks With Game-Winner (VIDEO)

Where LaMazing happened…

Using a Sheed-esque turnaround jumper at the buzzer, LaMarcus Aldridge broke the Dallas Mavericks’ hearts in Portland last night. More from the jovial Blazers’ locker room, via the Columbian: “LaMarcus Aldridge, a Dallas native, saved his best to down his hometown team, hitting the game-winning jump shot as time expired for the Trail Blazers’ 106-104 victory. With a well-executed inbounds play, a flick of the wrist and a perfect jump shot, the Blazers (23-22) shook off a large second-half deficit after the Mavericks pulled ahead by 21 points. So by the time Aldridge returned to the Blazers locker room, his phone had over 20 messages on it. Just a glance and he could tell that his mother, Georgia, was about to make his cell phone battery die. ‘She’s watching (the game),’ said Aldridge, who finished with a game-high 29 points and also contributed 13 rebounds. ‘She texted me like five or six times.’ The family celebrated, the 18,888 in the Rose Garden rejoiced and even Aldridge – who so often just describes this whole NBA thing as a ‘job’ – beamed broadly as teammates bum rushed him near the Dallas bench. ‘He was smiling like a rookie after his first NBA game,’ Nicolas Batum said, describing Aldridge.”

anyone saying he didn’t deserve his all star nod now

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

well, it’s not that HE didn’t deserve it. It’s that the Blazers didn’t deserve it more than Steph Curry did because of the Warriors success. Aldridge has really been a top 3 PF this season. —-> Terry Stotts insistence on him shooting mid range jumpers is the only negative. And that’s on Stotts’ offense —->
    — Aldridge has shot 100+!!!! more mid range jump shots then any other player in the league. To put that in perspective.

i think curry should have made it instead of lee. problem solved lee is the fifth best pf in the west after love aldridge griffin and randolph. it sucks for lee but sometimes some guys get stuck like that

  • spit hot fiyah

love doesn’t even count this season

That is a fair argument, BUT record plays a huge role with the coaches.
    – Kevin Love? Come on man. Kevin Love, WAS awful. AWFUL. And he played like 9 games.
    – Lee leads the West in Double Doubles. His team has a better record than Aldridge. —-> And Randolph/Griffin are already on the team.

double/doubles are not everything though. JJ Hickson is up there too and no one would rationally say he should be anywhere near the all star game. I wasn’t saying Love for this year because of his injuries but that Lee would have a tough road to make it to the ASG. He has 4 guys ahead of him at the PF spot that are going to be better for the next few years (at least.) Curry is the best player on the warriors and deserved to be in. I don’ know if team record should play as big a role as skill in the end for voters but its all preferential anyways

The difference between David Lee and JJ Hickson is, his double doubles are coming in wins, playing next to f*cking Festus Ezeli, not next to Lamarcus Aldridge (the best 4 in the league imo) in losses.
And the coaches vote for the reserves. whether you agree with them or not, isn’t going to change anything. and i don’t really like discussing this kind of stuff in hypotheticals. i care about what actually matters.
