LeBron James Dominates the Los Angeles Lakers (VIDEO)

39 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and several critical plays down the stretch to secure the Miami Heat’s win over a surprisingly frisky Lakers. LeBron James proved, once again, why he’s the best player in the known universe.

at this point it’s just unfair.

  • Lorne

    Not surpising.

  • RayJr

Who does Lebron not dominate? You could make a headline “Lebron Dominates the _________” for just about every game he plays.

He’s an all time great in his prime – it would be odd if he wasn’t dominating.

  • ChosenOne

MVP award is hottin’ up between him and KD…

  • pposse

You gotta appreciate how Lebron routinely elevates his game against marquee matchups

  • JCH

    2:07 lol I love it

  • pposse

its such a toss up right now, KD’s vicious dunks at the rim is giving him the edge in my book! But Bron Bron just made the Lakers look real dumb, its going to be real interesting from here on out

  • Max

    Or you can ask:
    Who doesn’t dominate the Lakers?

  • CubicleDunker

Am I the only one that notices heat get 2/3 borderline calls in crucial moments in pretty much every close game? Mid-way through the third the refs start handing out calls and no-calls and let the Heat get momentum

Dunks are whats deciding it for u? Where are Vince Carters MVP awards in that case…

  • pposse

no its not the dunks, but KDs nonstop attacking Before this year i kind of thought of him as more of a jump shooter, but this year he is taking it to the rack whenever he can. The dunking is the end result/ byproduct of his new ‘attack mode’ attitude. I’m really starting to believe that the Thunder will win it all this year.

  • ChosenOne

KD’s 50-40-90 is remarkable. Whereas with LeBron, well, he does everything with consistency and efficiency it seems this season.

  • RayJr

    lol BURRRRRN

  • Redd

  • Darksaber

That was all in one game? Christ, what a specimen.

  • yeee

kobe bryant, indeed the best one on one player. Lebron, best one on five player.

  • Lakerswontmaketheplayoffs

Few things give me satisfaction the way seeing the Lakers lose does, especially when they lose to a Lebron team. Not an LBJ fan, but I know it must burn Kobe up that he has a winning record against him, thus Kobe’s loss being more entertaining for me.

  • Lorne

    That was awesome.

“attack mode” shouldn’t justify mvp candidates haha, but I do love KD’s game this will be very close between the two of them I’m still taking LeBron though he’s just way too efficient..

  • RKJ92

    That’s a joke right? lol

  • roscoe

MIAs defense is the best in the nba… amazing press.

  • pposse

How is KD not efficient..50-40-90 plus im betting that he will go down as the scoring champ by the end of the year. Grabbing 7.5 rebs 4 asts 1.1 blocks. If the Thunder have the best record in the NBA he is all but a lock to be the MVP (voters will for sure give it to him). His whole attitude this year just seems a little different like he put his game on overrdrive. I hope he can turn it up another couple notches in the playoffs, it will be fun to watch. Lebron is Lebron, he deserves the MVP or considerations for it every year, but this year in particular he has legit competition for the crown.

  • RKJ92

I never said KD wasn’t efficient at all, I just believe LeBron is more efficient in general please read carefully :D and also remember what LeBron did to Durant on Christmas :)

appreciate if you love it. while hatas …. BOW DOWN !!! :-)

  • pposse

yeah i do..i can’t wait till next time they play against each other. Lebron had KD on lockdown in the beginning, but soon enough KD started to do his thing. Don’t count it past KD to drop Lebron off with like 45 pts!

At this point, stopping LeBron is like giving a blind guy a rubix cube. You can twist em and turn em and try all you’d like, but the boy is a problem you just cant solve!

    Sadly no

The way this man just dominates in all aspects of the game is insane. He easily gets 39 points while at the same time snags 7 boards and dishes 8 helpers. He took the challenge of guarding Kobe in the 4th when things got close and slowed him down a tad. Although Kobe got 13 of his 22 in the 4th during the last 5 minutes he was able to make his shot attempts more difficult. This guy is just unreal.

Agree, very very close, Bill Simmons had a tweet a few ago that showed their stats summary and said “highest level MVP race in a long time”, couldn’t agree more. KD is hovering just around the 40/90 part of 50-40-90, which is insane, but LBJ is shooting 55% from the field which I think gets overlooked sometimes with KD’s shooting. Just glad we get the watch the 2 of them play at this level.

  • RKJ92

Believe me I wouldnt! Durants a weapon bro

  • RKJ92

    Oh lawwwddd…

  • Kato Williams

I don’t know if Durant could light him up like that.

He has the ability to but LeBron’s defense can be stifling.

  • pposse

i agree, but let this serve as a public service announcement to KD..KD must drop 45 and beat Miami the next time he plays..this will solidify MVP honors for him

  • Matt

Definitely agree with Bill Simmons. I believe it was him who did a piece on MVP races and compared them to different sized trophies. This one would surely be 25 pounder.

    Oooh found the piece: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7770130/handicapping-nba-mvp-race

Love him or hate him he is hands down the best in the world and KD isn’t as close as people think never will be either, this man is an animal he is something that we have never seen in any sport we are witnessing the peak of LeBron James and in 30 years when someone mentions his name we could very well be saying greatest player to ever play the game.
