LeBron James Reaches 20,000 Points and 5,000 Assists (VIDEO)

Despite Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson’s best attemps, LeBron James made history last night during the Miami Heat’s victory. James became the youngest NBA player to score 20,000 career points, and he also recorded his 5,000th assist for good measure.

The King is on a short list. When he amasses his 5,000th rebound, he will become the youngest player of all time with 20,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, and 5,000 assists. Absolutely a special talent.
Barring injury, should become a top 10 – 5 talent in the history of NBA basketball.
And there are going to be people who will argue that The King is the Greatest of All Times.

    HA! Wait a minute…
He already IS the youngest player in NBA history with 20,000 pts., 5,000 rbs., and 5,000 asts.
    LONG… LIVE… THE KING.

  • ChosenOne

He already has over 5000 rebounds.

  • ChosenOne

..and to me he is already a top 15 all timer.

  • The Philosopher

    Yeah. lol.
    I totally killed that one.

I don’t really care much for him, but Lebron can honestly go down as #1 of all time if he amasses MJ’s 6 rings or KAJ’s overall brilliance.

    I don’t know.
I’ve always respected and admired The King’s game. But, it would be hard for me to ever see him as the best who has ever played in the NBA.
Although, time will tell, and my mind may change.
He will never be better than Larry Bird. Bird was too good in too many aspects of the game. And he was an underrated athlete, and an underrated defender. The greatest help defender in NBA History.
He will never be better than Magic. Magic is unmatched when it comes to dictating the tempo and flow of a game. He is unmatched, when it comes to making an average teammate look like an all – star player. Greatest passer who has ever lived. Underrated shooter. Good help defender.
He will never be better than Michael. I don’t even think he will be better than Kareem.
But after those names, it is open discussion.

Is he the most athleticly gifted player ever besides maybe Wilt?

  • Max

How could YOU not know that?

  • K_HOLIDAY

    20(K)ing James!

  • spit hot fiyah

David robinson (young version) is up there, honorable mention at least

  • The Philosopher

    Craziness. lol
And I’m up there typing along, as if I’m sending in the greatest comment in the history of SLAM.

  • Max

    Poor poor dude.

  • Max

    They’re in the top 3.
    Anyone else I forgot?

LeBron has the potential to be the G.O.A.T.

Why do people forget about MJ when talking best athlete to play in the L? The man moved like a cheetah, jumped like a kangaroo and had the strength of an ox. Go back and watch some highlights of MJ from 84-93 and tell me the guy isn’t the greatest athlete to step foot onto an NBA court.

Woah…Bird is the greatest help defender in League history? Don’t know about that one. Pip was a superior help defender, so was Hakeem, Russell, Duncan and a couple of other cats.

Definitely. On top of all of that, he apparently had legendary hands (size wise and strength wise). The man was a freak of nature. Add to that his actual skill level and mental makeup and you have the GOAT.

Knew I would see a freaking love fest on here, If this was Kobe everybody would be like well he isnt the fastest….Not impressed with dudes who come from high school doing things like this….

  • ByAnyMeansNecessary

People do forget about MJ. I think LeBron stands out to people because usually, 6’8 260 pound dudes don’t move as fast as he does.

  • Max

I was thinking bout him, he comes in at 4?

  • bike

I’m thinking he’s about even with Magic and Bird right now in overall play. I don’t think he’s got the mental makeup to surpass Jordan but statistically and skill-wise he’s pretty close.

  • The Philosopher

    Respect.

  • The Philosopher

I can appreciate that view. It is surely debatable.
