LeBron James Destroys the Los Angeles Lakers (VIDEO)

LBJ was unstoppable.

The Miami Heat walked away with the 107-97 win against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, thanks mostly to the exploits of LeBron James. The reigning MVP did whatever he wanted, en route to 32 points (on 12/18 shooting from the field), 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Remember how everyone was crying about the Spurs playing 4 games in 5 nights and the last game ending with the Heat? Everyone was saying how the schedule makers screwed up..well the Lakers just went on a 7 game road trip with their capper being against the Heat.

Maybe the schedule makes it like this on purpose, sort of like a reward to the Heat for being the Champs last year.

at this point it’s not even fair

    LA wasnt focused to ball.

I think its a little stupid&pointless to make a news/thread out of every good/great game lebron has, especially with using words like “destroys”,”monster” etc.if only for 2 reasons: firstly playing good-great games is becoming common&obvious for LeBron so you have to make a big news for like 75 of 82 regular season games, and secondly for superstar player&in this case best player of the game monster game is dropping 50 points, posting ridicoulus triple-double numers e.g. 30-13-13 , breaking some records or scoring 20-25 fourth quarter points, stuff like that.So being a bit more selective with words&generally with creating news would be a better idea in my own humble opinion. ,

Are you saying the Lakers would have likely won if they didn’t have such a rough road trip before? Because they are 1-5 against the Heat in their last 6 meetings. Somehow I doubt better scheduling would have helped them much.

  • pposse

i am definately not saying that. Both Lebron and Wade have winning records against the Lakers by themselves

I was just comparing the Spurs and Lakers situation and pointing out similarities in the scheduling when they played the Heat. Everyone was saying how Pop was a genius for letting TP Dunc and Manu go home and cried foul on the NBA for scheduling a game against the Heat. Well, look, it happened again, it makes me think that the scheduling was purposefully and not just to spite the Spurs or Lakers. Just a theory but its probably to benefit the world champs from the year before.

The headlines for his past 5 games could’ve been “Lebron James Destroys the _________”. His stats have been incredible but its pretty regular for him now to dominate like this.

  • Happy

    It’s plausible.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

the Lakers didn’t play a single back to back on the road trip. What are you talking about.

  • RKJ92

I didn’t know Kobe posted on slam :S

First of all, you need to learn how the schedule is made before you come up with such a ridiculous hypothesis. i mean, spending less time then it took you type that comment you could have figured out that a conspiracy to help the Heat (or any team) isn’t even possible.

  • 23

Stats aren’t everything. If you actually watched the game, youd see that LeBron had his way with the Lakers. he did destroy them.

  • speedy

Transition D from the Lakers is non existent.

Defensiv rebound Heat – outlet to Cole – Nash is there – alley oop to James – next Laker defender is crossing mid court. Jeeeesus.

  • Sizzle

Article should be titled, “LeBron has average game, beats Lakers.” This has become the norm for him. He is unbelievable. Love watching that man play..

  • pposse

okay fine, then teams from the west normally have to play the Heat last on their long road game schedule cause they are the southern/eastern most NBA city and it doesn’t make sense from a traveling stand pt to have your ball club travel that far (for western conference teams) on a two or three game road trip. Either way, no one should have been crying about the scheduling of the games.

In the NFL the superbowl and conference champions do have harder schedules, They are based on what happened the year before, thats where the idea came from.

  • http://twitter.com/dma_pdx Dma

Every single highlight was a travel by lebron James. Except the alley oop. You can’t defend three steps on a dude that strong.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

The only crying being done about the schedule comes from the people who want them to play less games total. — the only people that really do make a fuss about the schedule are the people like you, who think the Players have to play every single game they are healthy.
and the NFL has a 16 game schedule. are you really going to be stupid enough to compare that to an 82 game NBA schedule? One sport has more games then teams, one sport has more teams than games. Comparing their schedules is stupid.

Thursday, at Boston, followed by Friday, at Charlotte, would be a back-to-back series.

  • Conor

They were playing equally until LA began throwing the damn ball away in the fourth quarter. Some of their passes were lost with minimal defensive pressure.

This was more on LA’s inexplicable rebounding woes (first three quarters) & their fourth-quarter turnovers than the Miami Heat (even in spite of LeBron/Wade combining to shoot 24/36).

ahhh i totally forgot about the Bobcats game. my bad

He is a superstar. The biggest superstar in The League. Among the biggest superstars in the world.
As is such, he is getting the “biggest superstar in the world” treatment.
    From nearly everyone.
The masses are in awe. Peasants watch in wonder. The elite watch with pride.
    He is… THE KING.

that link doesn’t prove anything, you know that right?
and stop saying stupid sh*t. you won’t have a problem.

  • initbruv

You ought to start your own basketball website in which you use phrases like “played a reasonably good game”in the headline and see how well you do.

    nbk vs. pposse…
Beef of the year pt. 4.

This is why they write so many articles. Because now look where your expectations are for him? 30-13-13 is a great game to you when it comes to LeBron. No other player has set that type of standard for expectations. Secondly it isn’t his point total that we are in awe with, its his efficiency. Good day sir

It’s the bobcats, shouldn’t even count lol

  • http://www.facebook.com/Alanpg Alan Pg

He sometimes travels. Still, he’s the most complete and best player of the world hands down.

  • Matt

What are you talking about? The NBA allows a step when the ball is picked up and THEN calls two more steps.

I suggest you take ten or so minutes to peruse through this site: http://www.nba.com/videorulebook/

  • qwerty

Please explain to me how the first clip in the video is anything close to a travel?

  • Happy

Not the first one, and not the drive with the and 1 when the score was 71-73 and Artest fouled him. The three on the top of key wasn’t a travel either. Granted, he does get away with a third step a lot but in those cases you’re wrong.

  • Conor

It counts for the Lakers. It took them until Friday to even have a winning record against them since their inception. Nine years and LA had to come back from 20 to do it.

    Sad state of affairs.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

yeah it totally counts. i just forgot about that game. still doesn’t change that their is no conspiracy against the Heat.
Suggesting the league would use the LAKERS in that strategy by itself is pretty good evidence of how ridiculous that idea is.

  • roscoe

Bron bron is MVP no matter what media hype and marketing KD gets…

if KD gets the award it is a runner-up prize for making it to the finals last year and being a great player, but…

the MVP is clearly Bron brons.

  • michael

as talented as he is physically- (and he is far and away the best athlete in the league- as much distance between he and the pack – as jordan and the pack in the 90′s) – he is by far the best mind on the court too- or at least the most capable of transferring his decisions to real plays. he never hoists bad shots like kobe, or forces anything or makes stupid passes- everything flows- like how larry bird and magic used to play. this guy really is something else. I like that he s a complete player and not just a scorer too- he plays the right way- the way you d want young players to learn. you can point to him and to your kids and say – thats how ball should be played. remember when iverson was mvp? every midget on the court suddenly felt they had a licence to hoist up shots every game in pickup. cos they were lke iverson in their minds. if every kid learning ball plays like lebron – looking for the best shot on offence- helping out on defence – thats a great thing for basketball.

  • Conor

There’s no support for a conspiracy theory. Every team plays 82 games. It’s on them to adapt.
