JaVale McGee’s Awkward Interview With Shaq on TNT (VIDEO)

Despite frequently starring of “Shaqtin’ a Fool“, JaVale McGee is no fan of the segment. Last night on “Inside the NBA”, McGee confronted his tormentor and said he doesn’t watch “Shaqtin’ a Coon”. Yikes.

Is this outstanding piece of journalism going in the print magazine? Ahhh to have a job putting videos on to a magazine’s website and calling yourself a journalist. You guys have fallen to about 2 steps below ESPN. Worked your way up, got even, and now….videos. Fail.

Why this man keep looking over his shoulder?

  • flame’s out, son

That may have been the worst typed sentence in the history of modern language. First of all, if you are over 16, get a new name. Second of all, capitalization is a great thing, it’s even kind of cool once you learn how to read and write properly, but it becomes even greater than great when you learn how to properly use it. Just wait!

  • Jer dawg

Kinda ugly there. Not on the subject of hoops especially on national TV.

  • patrick

i didn’t find it awkward lol

    Shaq is a fool.

  • KevinJohnsonFan

This isn’t English class. It’s a basketball website. Really not that serious. Relax.

  • chumpy

    Haha burn!

So, y’all realize he just called Shaq a “coon” right? On National Television. That was the most gangsta way of calling Shaq out ever. He doesn’t like Shaq, he thinks Shaq is a coon, and he doesn’t appreciate Shaq taking shots at him. But, he also understands that Shaq has the power of history and being on television more frequently.
Javale McGee is smarter than most of you give him credit for being.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

You are criticizing his grammar using run-on sentences and comma splices. Cool beans.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

It’s called aggregating. Since most people are interested in consuming their information for free, it’s the easiest way to make money. You want better, you should pay for it.

    Shaqtin a coon?! LMAO wow

  • http://twitter.com/_DFrance DFrance

Shaq probably thought JaVale would come on and laugh it up with him and all JaVale did was make it clear that he HATES Shaqs guts. lmao!

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i bet he’s smarter then you gave him credit for when you pressed play on this video. i sure didn’t see any sign of that intelligence in the past.

What did he say to Shaq at the end there?

  • The Philosopher

I wonder who’s more Irish of the two…

  • Bojangles

“Shaq I just wanna let you know, you old as dirt”

  • The Philosopher

    Penny Hardaway and Jaleel White…

  • Gibbs

while ya’ll laughing & joking, that’s probably one of the most offensive words a black man can call each other. Nothing about that was funny

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    wow you are a moron.

    What are you scared?

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

Nope, I already knew homie was smart. I read a profile on him a while back that made me question the popular belief that he is a buffoon. It was talking about he got into ball and about his mom and her background. Basically it pointed out that she didn’t raise any dummies, but he was a tad immature. That made sense. Plus I checked out a few of his Twitter comments. I’ve regularly defended dude on here if you remember.

He said Cool you stupid FOOL! Yalls retarded.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

my bad, i don’t honestly. would you happen to have a link to that story tho?

What is so funny about calling another black man a coon on national TV?

  • bill

Himself is the only thing McGee takes seriously, apparently…a little too serious.

  • The Mauve Avenger

This dude is dominating this comment section lol

He called them that to be offensive. The laughing wasn’t real laughter. He called Shaq a coon because he wanted to insult him.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

Because that’s what Shaq acts like, and he totally flipped the script on it. My enjoyment is because I don’t like Shaq and I think he’s a petty egomaniac and a bully.

  • initbruv

I don’t know how smart he is but he definitely seems like he’s got a good temperament. Even in this interview he kept his cool and threw his jabs in with a level head and a soft voice. Doesn’t seem like the knucklehead he’s been portrayed as.

Way to go Javale Mcgee standing up for yourself

  • Kevin

Not like Javale McGee lied or didnt speak the truth. Shaq stays killing Javale im glad he said what he said to Shaq

I signed in just to give you a thumbs down!

  • initbruv

I did and it was really interesting. Didn’t catch much about intelligence other than the bit about him being good with technology.

  • SirGrey

“I just wanna know you could hold this dick.” Then he switched it up to sound clean.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

The technology thing, the tweet, the comments from teammates about his real attitude. He seems like an immature, yet fairly intelligent cat.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Donte-Machiavelli-Hudson/100000723951750 Donte Machiavelli Hudson

Intelligence is like a river, you won’t know how deep it is until you jump in.

  • initbruv

I don’t disagree. Seems likeable too.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Donte-Machiavelli-Hudson/100000723951750 Donte Machiavelli Hudson

A count of hands, who thinks shaq is funny? I damn sure don’t,

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Uhm, no? You can see the bottom of some rivers. That saying sucks.

  • initbruv

  • Gibbs

No sh*t Sherlock but that still doesn’t excuse him for using that heinous word even if it was in a joking manner…especially in that setting.

  • SirGrey

“I just wanna let you know you can hold this dick.” That’s what I heard, lol. Then he tried to switch it up to make it sound cleaner.

  • TBRK

lol, good interview. Not akward at all, just funny. Good to see Javale out there realizing his potential….literally would’ve choked the life out of his career if he continued in DC

  • http://twitter.com/AjpDos Allen Powell

HE WASN’T JOKING. He used a heinous word to insult him. Like calling someone an a-hole. He feels SHAQ coon on TV. And he is right in my opinion.

  • 80

Saying is good considering even if you see the bottom you cant truly know how deep it is due to the refraction of light when it hits the water, thus distorting your perception

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

If a river is only a foot or two deep, the distortion will be a few inches. Given the context of this analogy, if someone seems extremely stupid, the level of stupid (intelligence being amount of water) would deviate minimally. .
    The saying doesn’t work.

  • http://www.facebook.com/shooting.guard.319 Shooting Guard

shaq and his jokes are getting old, but

  • roscoe

egomaniac… is that like eggo waffles or something?

  • Mars

    JaVale my ninja

  • mars

scripted…and he didn’t read what was on the card….noticed what Ernie says after he says what he says about Shaqtin…

  • IanMatthew8

Lol JaVale McGee is a fool.
