Kobe Bryant Dunks All Over Josh Smith (VIDEO)

Throwing it down like it’s 1997.

Seventeen years in the League, and Kobe Bryant can still fly and crush on people’s domes. Josh Smith was victimized by the Black Mamba tonight, as the Los Angeles won a nail-biter against the visiting Atlanta Hawks 99-98, finally reaching .500.

    Wow he’s 6’6 and can’t palm a basketball? LOL wtf.. I could effortlessly palm the ball and i’m like an inch or 2 shorter :S — On a side note if its true he can’t palm it like the announcer said it amazes me how he pulls off dunks like this without being able to do so.. I couldn’t imagine going up for a dunk and not having the comfort, or reliability, of the ball in my hand.. impressive.

    Kobe can palm the ball. That he doesnt do it during dunks is a whole other thing. He likes to cradle it during dunks. Ive seen him palming the ball during out of bounce situations, postups on smaller defenders, grabbing the ball off the floor and giving it to the refs etc.

    I can palm a basketball, but I when I used to dunk on the regular, I never palmed the ball. I would say your momentum and gravity keeps the rock in your hand.

    Word.. I know what your talking about, I personally just don’t like it if I go up for a dunk and im not palming it like a nerf ball haha, whenever I went to dunk in the past with momentum and gravity keeping the ball in my hand most the time i’d just end up back ironing it, or like a throw in dunk because I find that style more difficult. Like I said though still just impressive to see this especially on Josh Smith of all people.

    its different in momentum, to casually picking it up, or palming it without movement though, that I should have specified.

    That’s the 3rd dunk I’ve seen from him this year that made me jump out my seat. He was hogging the ball a little too much in the 4th last night but this play and the game winner made up for it.

    This is still not as impressive to me as his dunk over Okafor last year. Crazy that he’s still posterizing dudes at his age.

    kobe actually cant palm the ball smh nobody would rather “cradle” a ball during a dunk if they can palm. phil jackson actually talked about how mj had such big hands and could palm he ball whereas kobe cannot palm the ball due to his smaller hands,
