Miami Heat Overcome 27-Point Deficit to Win 24th Straight Game (VIDEO)

And the incredible streak lives on.

The defending champion Miami Heat faced the largest defiicit of their winning streak, but this being the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 27-point lead evaporated, and the Heat’s historic run continues. Unreal.

Hey SLAM, I know how to copy and paste videos to a website too! Can I get a job and call myself a journalist? As a true journalist and reporter, if I EVER ran into one of these SLAM guys trying to call themselves a true journalist…whew boy. About 10-15 years ago there were some nice articles written and whatnot, even on the website until recently. But now…videos, videos, videos. We ALL watch ESPN and SportsCenter, we’ve seen all the videos we need. Step it up SLAM, please?

Ray Allen gets so many easy shots now it’s amazing.

If you really are a true journalist and reporter, you would recognize that aggregation is the norm across the web and that’s where the business is going. If you’ve failed to recognize this, I question how long you’re going to survive in the business.
It doesn’t make sense for SLAM to give away long form articles for free on its website because then why would you purchase the magazine that it derives all of its advertising revenue from. Clearly the website is used as a forum for discussion, and some posting of articles that would not normally appear in the magazine, or have already run in the magazine. It’s a sound business decision.

Forget rings, rankings, years played, etc. If the game ended right now, LeBron James would be one of the greatest to ever play the game.

I’m not mad, I just find it tiresome that all these cats keep coming to SLAM complaining about the videos and short pieces. They put a magazine out monthly. Either they re-run the profiles from the magazine, or they put out advance stuff. SLAM would be stupid to give away its advance stuff for free. As a professional journalist, I understand how the business works and why SLAM does what it does. No one comes to this website to get news first. They come for the chance to get into halfway decent arguments about basketball.
If you want breaking news coverage you should go to ESPN. If you want scoops, go to Yahoo. If you want snark, go to Deadspin.

I hear you man. Glad you kicked some knowledge to the clueless.

This section of Slamonline is used for stuff like that though. To post rumors, highlights, signings. etc. They put the real articles in the magazine The one that costs money.

So you are as wack as the sellouts on this sites. Sorry to go over your head white boy, I know that bothers you and your lack of grammer/punctuation. You’ll be alright junior, I promise. People such as yourself work for people like me, I will make sure you get your crumbs boy.

  • Gregg Shorthand

When did they stop and completely sell-out? They used to have articles on the website?

  • Gregg Shorthand

Well I graduated from Syracuse in 1994, been in the business ever since. I never soled out, and I can get any interview with almost anyone I want due to that. It’s the difference in 2Pac and everybody else. He’s the only one that could go anywhere and get anything or anyone because he never soled out. I actually modeled much of my career after him. So when I see sellouts like this magazine, it just reminds me of the lessons Pac taught those who would listen. SLAM was great for a bit, then it became a long-running joke. You probably haven’t been informed of that, which I understand, but that’s part of it bro. I’ll be in the business long enough, you just try to remind yourself what it was like to not be a buster.

I finished from Howard in 2002, and UMD in 2004. I’ve been the business ever since, although I’m about to get out. My point was simple. SLAM writes the same stories it always wrote, which are mainly profiles on athletes with an urban spin. Nothing much has changed at all.
The website is different in that there has been a definite switch to posting more breaking news that is culled from other sites. It’s the same basic formula everyone is using these days.
Your complaints about the website don’t make sense when you consider the purpose of the website at this point.

they still have articles on the website. just not the same ones that would run in the magazine. I mean, you’re free to disagree with this strategy, but I actually believe too many media outlets give away their product for free. You don’t see the NBA showing games without getting a slice of the pie, right?

  • https://twitter.com/jasontichenor Mr. Wet

Right. Occasionally they will put up articles that have been in past magazines. When you come on the site. Usually the stuff on the left hand column has some real writing in it. This sections is called rumors for a reason. He’s just snippits of the day to compete with hoopshype.
