Clippers Beat the Lakers and Clinch their First Division Title (VIDEO)

For the first time in franchise history, the Los Angeles Clippers have won the Pacific Division title. For their long-suffering fans, it was especially sweet that the clinch happened during a 109-95 victory against the sputtering LA Lakers. Per the LA Daily News: “A changing of the guard has taken place. The Clippers’ 109-95 win Sunday over the Lakers at Staples Center could seriously dampen the Lakers’ playoff fortunes. The Utah Jazz (40-37) have the edge over the Lakers (40-37) for the eighth playoff seed in the Western Conference because of the regular-season tiebreaker. The Jazz could extend that cushion to one game if it wins tonight against the Golden State Warriors. To add insult to injury, Clippers swept the regular-season series with the Lakers for the first time since the 1974-75 season when they were the Buffalo Braves. In case the Lakers weren’t aware, Clipper Darrell repeatedly yelled “sweep” in the final moments. Meanwhile, the Clippers (51-26) locked the Pacific Division for the first time in franchise history and are only two games behind the Denver Nuggets (53-24) for the third playoff spot.”
