Steph Curry Breaks Record for Most Threes in a Season (VIDEO)

By knocking down his 270th three-pointer, Steph Curry passed Ray Allen for the most long-range bombs in an NBA season. Allen, whose record was set in the 2005-’06 campaign, wasn’t exactly surprised. An emotional Curry talked about setting a new mark, during a season in which he connected on an amazing 45.3 percent of the League-high 600 threes he took. Per the Contra Costa Times: “I was nervous, to be honest with you. I had butterflies. It was like the elephant in the room. That first shot I took was a heat check, just to see what was going on tonight. After that, it was trying not to press, just let it come. But it was hard to keep it out of my head. It was a big relief when that last one went in.’ […] ‘I was just so happy to get it out of the way so I could focus on the game, because it was hard to do both, to be honest with you.’ […] ‘Watching Ray Allen shoot in shooting drills when he played with my dad in Milwaukee, I’ve got an appreciation for how well he shot the ball for his career. Especially that one season. My teammates helped me all the way, setting screens all season and running our offense. It was a pretty special moment for everybody.’ […] ‘I’m going to cherish it man. It’s a special thing.'”
