Knicks Fans Chant ‘Reggie Sucks’ at Reggie Miller (VIDEO)

He broke their hearts 18 years ago, but New York Knicks fans (especially Spike Lee) haven’t forgotten or forgiven Reggie Miller. The MSG faithful gave the former Indiana Pacer an earful at the end of Game 2 last night. Per the NY Times: “Photographers and cameramen soon surrounded Lee, hoping he would see Reggie Miller, who was in the Garden to call the game for TNT. Miller knew the significance of the day: 18 years ago he stunned Lee and the rest of the Garden by scoring 8 points in the final 18.7 seconds to win Game 1 of Knicks-Pacers playoff series in 1995. Before taking his seat in the booth just a couple of feet away, Miller walked over to Lee. They hugged and shared a few laughs. Lee said he and Miller did not talk about that unforgettable playoff game. They also did not make any friendly wagers on this year’s series, as they had in 1994. ‘We were just saying hello,’ Lee said. ‘I didn’t even know it was the 18th anniversary of that game until I got here.’ He paused for a few seconds before saying, ‘I try to forget that.’”

You know you’ve made it when the Garden still chants your name, years after you’ve burned them. Reggie must have had the biggest grin on his face when he heard that.

Maybe they were offering criticism of Reggie as a commentator. In which case, well said, MSG.
