John Wall Throws Down In USA Basketball Scrimmage (VIDEO)

Washington’s young PG cleans up a miss.

Yesterday was a pretty good day for Wizards star John Wall. First, news came out that he’s nearing an $80 million max extension to stay in Washington. Then, in a USA Basketball exhibition, Wall threw down a monster jam, cleaning up a miss by Klay Thompson. His team may have lost, 128-106, but Wall had one night’s top highlights.

“His team may have lost, 128-106, but Wall had one night’s top highlights.”

Story of John Wall’s NBA career. Superficial.

he’s 22……i don’t think his career has a story yet.

  • Corey Strong

Been in the spotlight for the last 6 years…he has a story.

This may be decently cool, but I can’t believe that SLAM hasn’t uploaded the video of the Air Force Airman dunking in fatigues and combat boots!!! WHAT?!?!? Come on SLAM, you all have definitely fallen off in the last 6-8 years or so but how hard is that one to miss??

6 years? what kind of broken time warp do you live in?
    .
2009 was his last year of HIGH SCHOOl – He won a state championship – that was 4 years ago.

  • Trillfamyoungin

i seen it on instagram carmelo was smiling

  • spit hot fiyah

    not only dunking, windmilling

  • spit hot fiyah

i really like that they have some odd numbers like 52, 56, 28 etc (ok, those were all even but u get the point)

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Exactly. Wall’s the same age as ROOKIE pg Peyton Siva, why are people acting like his career has already been defined?

  • The Philosopher

Now, Wall has the pressure of making me look smart… lol.

  • spit hot fiyah

and his last name is apparently mills, not making that up

  • RayJr

    Beginning of a story.

  • robb

Airforce member, last name mills. Everything fits.

  • robb

and he looked no taller than 6’1

  • Feez_22

He’s also 2 months younger than last year’s rookie of the year, damian lillard.

If wall even has a story, he has 4 years left until he hits his prime. Nothing is defined. If steve nash was defined as a 22 year old… well, we know the answer. That dude won mvp’s in his early 30s.

  • LP @ThisisEther

    meh

  • JFK

Maybe if you ONLY follow NBA hoops (what a miserable basketball watching experience that must be – unless you are less than 12). Everybody knew who he was as a junior in high school. Been 6 years dude…get with the program and out of the NBA worship.

You don’t know what a spotlight is do you?

  • Rapist on BAIL

    Wall sucks

  • Max

    20 and 10 baby

  • Max

    Then post it maybe? :)

  • Max

And I’m still thinking why the F is Zeller there?

calling the nba career of a 22 year old 3 year pro PG superficial is the most nonsensical garbage i have seen on slam in months.

Has he lived up to the hype? no. Has he shown flashes of living up to that hype? hell yes. Wall has 2-3 years until he hits his prime. If we judged every nba player for what they did in their first 3 nba years based on the hype they garnered in high school and college, we’d have a bunch of superficial busts in this league.

Don’t you morons and ANONYMOUS TROLLS realize that potential has a “SHELF LIFE” which is usually the first 4 seasons and if a young player especially the 1st overall pick does not begin to blossom into superstardom then he is just another wasted talent and that what Wall has looked like so far compared to other NO.1 overall pick point guards like Derrick Rose by year 3 he became the MVP youngest in NBA history Kyrie Irving by year 2 became an all-star elite point guard and the next big thing in the league while Wall on the otherhand ZERO accomplishments people can say that he has not lived up to his hype but the truth is that the only “hype” Wall had coming out of Kentucky was that stupid little dance

  • Caboose

You know that the Wiz were above .500 when Wall played last year right? Utter moron.

  • Caboose

…wow. I’d love to see things from your point of view but I can’t shove my head that far up my own a$$.
