him and john henson were two guys that looked like they really didn’t belong in summer league

One of the great moments in Raptor history.

But seriously, Valanciunas is going to open some eyes next season. His per game stats were somewhat underwhelming last year because of low/irregular play time, and his tendency to commit fouls. But based on how he played at the end of last year, and how he looked in summer league, he could average a double-double next year, easily.

As long as he stays out of foul trouble and Casey gives him the minutes then yes, it should happen. Or at least get really close to a double-double. Last year Casey had some horrible rotations and a lot of times opted to use Aaron Gray for his “experience” instead. I’m loving how fast Valanciunas is developing and bulking up and look forward to watching him play for the Raptors.

Dude was just bulldozing his way through defenders. He certainly bulked up in the gym this offseason.

I’m so glad Drummond did well. As a Pistons fan those 15 rpg looked really promising. I know it’s only summer league but still it gave me hope.

Couldn’t agree more. Let’s hope these guys stay clear of the injuries that have torpedoed the careers of other recent big man prospects.

Did he stay out of foul trouble in the summer league? From what I can recall players get a 10 foul per game limit. Did he get over 6 in any of the games?

yeah drummond stood out as well, i was referring to the vegas sl

  • Da-Meat-Hook

Yes, he struggled with foul trouble and turnovers in a few of those games.

Yeah man. Ever since I started watching the NBA I’ve been a Pistons fan. I love my Lakers cuz I’m born and raised here but I first watched Chauncey and tried to pattern my game after him so I watched the Pistons all the time.

For shame! At least my “other” team died of natural causes!
