was that ron harper in this b****? haha
I think he’s the 5th best SF.
Bron, KD, PG, Melo, Parsons,
chandler is def a hooper. over iggy tho? not that i disagree, but i’m just saying
that was a lot of highlights, here is a low light
Good call… Hmmm… That is a tough one, Iggy’s my dood.
I think Parson’s, going forward, (age difference) but it’s tough, you’ve got a point.
per dollar made, yes.
but just straight up?
these guys all have an argument for being better:
Pierce, Deng, Gallo, Iggy, (Josh Smith? not really a SF), Batum, Leonard (definitely), Rudy Gay
He’s the 5th best in this group of guys who are not on your list……
Pierce (he’s lost too many steps now, and has less needed out of him on the Net’s)
Deng (similar player, slightly less talented at everything except defense)
Gallo (needs to be better defensively, and shoot more consistently to put himself up that high)
Iggy (sure i’ll give you that one)
Josh Smith (He’s a PF, but yes he’s better if we call him a SF)
Batum (can make a case)
Leonard (can make a case)
Rudy Gay (no)
LOL, he’s better than all of them…
How could he be 5th best of those guys if he’s better than all of them?
in what way is he better? because you think so?
you do realize Chandler Parsons is a train wreck defensively right? And you do realize on offense he’s not really THAT good? he just gets opportunities, but he doesn’t really do ANYTHING at a very high level. He’s just a good player.
And again, defensively? he’s a total and complete trainwreck. Paul Pierce is still a better defender than Chandler Parsons. LOL
Parsons looks like the type of dude to record and submit his own pro am highlight tape to one of these websites.
leonard is clear cut imo. pierce i’m not sure about.
i would take the rest over parsons on my team, if i don’t have to consider contracts. his is extremely good contract is what makes him so valuable right now
i also think leonard might be slightly better, and batum is better at this point, although parsons has the potential to be better over time
I need to see a little more offensive output from Leonard to decide between those two.
Leonard only does what is needed of him and what Pop wants him to do. Which is f*cking great for the Spurs, but for us fans, we have no idea what he would be capable of on a team that needed more output from him.
Right now though, he’s a better rebounder and defender than Parson’s while Parson’s is the better offensive player.
Pretty hard to really make a certifiable choice.
I just like the more complete game that Chandler has right now.
Batum can definitely be argued too.
Iggy, Batum, and Leonard are the three that CAN outplay Parson’s next year though.
Chandler Parson’s doesn’t have a complete game tho. He has half of one. And he’s slightly above average.
I was not referring to his contract in any way.
I think (pretty damn positive) he is a better player than all of them right now.
I don’t know why you like worse shooters, (Deng, Batum, Gallo, Pierce, Gay, Iggy, Smith) and worse defenders (Gallo, Pierce, Gay) over a better one, but okay…
in his defense, he’s still pretty young and has the mental & physical tools to be a great offensive player. he made a huge jump last season, and should be on track to really do well this season
i think he can improve defensively. i dunno, i just like his game. he plays hard and works hard, and now dwight is there. we’ll see
train wreck defensively? Do you watch the Rockets or do you just make blind assumptions? As a Rockets fan, he’s probably one of the most versatile defenders we have. Paul Pierce is a better defender? LOL @ YOU
I’ll get back to you after I stop laughing…
Nope, He’s a very good defender, shooter, and passer.
The fact that there are things he cannot do well does not make him not complete as a player.
He is more complete skill-set wise than Leonard, Gay, Gallo, Deng, Smith.
ok train wreck is strong. especially after how good he was. specifically when that was his primary role. but since then, since he’s gained much offensive responsibility, he’s really taken steps back. especially when he’s not guarding the ball. He’s not very good on defense. He’s pretty good on the ball against certain types of players. But he’s really not that good.
because you say so… got it…
more complete is fine. but to say he’s a complete player like he does everything at atleast an average level is saying too much. And really calling him better than Gay/Gallo/Deng (Gallo & Deng i probably agree with) are projections. That isn’t a definite, proven thing you can say.
What does that mean?
i have no problems with Parsons at all. But he’s not a top 5 SF right now. LOL, that’s just nonsense.
you want stats? or you going to just talk about how those don’t matter like usual?
Skill for skill ..Pierce still better than Paul George
They (stats) don’t matter.
Please tell me you realize that defensive stats don’t really have consistency when dealing with completely different teams.
The Rockets were one of the worse defensive teams last year.
Parsons defensive stats will all be skewed based upon his teams defense.
Doesn’t matter though.
Skills don’t make your limbs move faster.
Let’s see your top 10 SF’s
we can look at his production by position. along with his team defense (by looking at the Rockets as a team, you can pretty much prove that I’m wrong about Parson and the “trainwreck” part, but you don’t like those, so sure buddy). Gain a pretty good picture that Parsons is not terrible like I said. But not specifically good either.
James – Durant – George – Melo – Batum – Pierce – Gay – Leonard – Parsons – Deng
Gallinari – J. Butler – H. Barnes would be the next probably.
Because he’s white? Right?
Rudy Gay is pretty garbage…I’d probably switch him with Deng IMO
in what way is he garbage? he’s paid too much? he’s the best player on a terrible team?
those two things don’t make him garbage.
i like the guy, i’m obviously not as high on him as you though.
he shoots extremely well from the corners and gets lay ups. and gives u almost nothing else on offense. deng and pierce do a lot of damage in the mid range. Gallo and batum could be considered more versatile on offense even though i’m not high at all on batum. gallo is a much better passer though
iggy does so many things, he is one of the best all around player sin the league. smith looks lazy and might be past his peak but is better at what he does best imo than what parsons is at what he does best.
Gay can create his own shot and take and make game winners. even though i’m not on the rudy bandwagon, if there even is one.
if we are talking going forward then it’s a different story and then we can also start throwing in some other names. (gordon hayward)
igoudala for sure
I’m so confused… what is going on around here…
From what I’ve seen over the years is a talented guy who isn’t that efficient on offense and doesnt make his teammates better in anyway
well the Raptors went 17-16 with Rudy Gay on the roster. And were 34-48 on the season……
And the Grizzlies still went to the conference finals….
yeah? that doesn’t make Rudy Gay garbage either. That’s like saying “Michael Jordan is garbage because Chicago still won 55 games the season he retired” — it’s a great side note and everything, but it doesn’t prove anything.
That’s a solid list.
Obviously Iggy, is somewhere in the 5-8 area.
Two complaints, Gay and Pierce.
Pierce is 35+ he is not better than Parson’s now.
I do think Gay has proved himself to be a gunner/shot jacker as of lately, and a bad defender.
These things that don’t bode well for a team’s best player.
While he might be “better” in regards to talent, he, imo, would not be better for the Rockets than Parsons is. And while Parsons can’t do what he can offensively, he is more controlled and a better defender which makes him the better player to me.
Batum and Leonard to me are highly arguable as being certifiably better, but not worth wasting words like some would love to think.
why is Pierce not better? saying it is just saying it. i am not saying you are definitely wrong. but i need actual reasoning outside of Pierce’s age. Especially considering Pierce was so much better than Parsons last season. And his role just got a lot easier.
Yup, because he’s white. Has nothing to do with his overall douchey, look at me demeanor.
