Kevin Love Dominates the Boston Celtics (VIDEO)

Looking like he’s already in mid-season form, Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love dropped 22 points and snatched 9 boards in a 104-89 preseason win over the Boston Celtics.

I was at the game, and Love actually seemed like he was holding back slightly… until he took off for that (serious) dunk. And in spite of the box score, the Wolves seem like they still haven’t quite figured out how to get KL his touches with Martin out there, pure and unadulterated chucker that he is. Admittedly, it was the pre-season, but Pekovic didn’t do much either, except look enormous and attempt those weird lateral layups, a few of which actually went in. Other than JJ, who did his thing (especially midway through the 4th), Minnesota’s bench looked downright awful. No idea how or why anyone expects them to score. The most exciting thing was watching Rubio, who really only turned it on fully for about eight minutes, but still managed to piss Avery Bradley off, probably for being born in Europe. AB was a bright spot for the Celtics, if you can call it that; and if he ever figures out how to stop wasting so much energy, he might be pretty good. The rest of the C’s… whoa. Lot of big, slow guys with giant shoulders and a look that says they can’t quite believe there’s a basketball game going on. No system in place yet. No shooting. No effort. Wallace definitely looked respectable, and Jeff Green was probably the best pure athlete on the floor. But he never saw an offensive possession he didn’t like, and not always in a good, Manu-type way. The highlight on their end was the fact that Rondo was on the bench and dressed, doing his Rondo stare at nothing in particular. Wish I knew what he was thinking.
