Anthony Davis Has Monster Game vs Lakers (VIDEO)

AD is going hard this season.

Anthony Davis embarrassed Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman on Friday night, recording a line of 32 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 blocks and a steal. The 20-year-old forward became the youngest ever to completely stuff the stat sheet in such fashion, as the Pelicans beat L.A., 96-85.

Anthony Davis straight up eviscerated Pau Gasol’s manhood.

  • Max

Is blocking the shot and getting the bucket on the other end becoming his trademark?
    ALLSTAR!

  • spit hot fiyah

MIP player pick looking good right now.

prediction: he will have a 5×5 line before the season is over.

  • Enigmatic

LOL @ everyone who thought he would be a bust simply because he didn’t put up monster numbers as a 19 year old rookie big dealing with injuries. Dude is going to be a beast for years.

  • spit hot fiyah

and playing limited minutes his rookie year

  • ATL dynamite

Eric Bledsoe = biggest MIP competition?

  • spit hot fiyah

yeah probably so, the suns will give him the ball and let him tr to make it happen, so will have plenty of chances.

i had kanter in my top 3 for MIP and he has looked good so far, as well as favours.

i feel like i’m forgetting a big name here though.

  • bringbackthesonics

if he keeps it up I’d put isaiah thomas in as well

  • ATL dynamite

Paul George maybe? Tony Wroten is a far far reach that should be in the honorable mentions, Isaiah Thomas has been playing well (doubt that he can keep this up for too far with Vasquez taking away his minutes)

  • ATL dynamite

To be able to block with either hand, run the floor like a guard/wing instead of playing as the trailer standing 6’11 and have that soft touch is just Bronbron-esque unfair. If he eventually develops a three point shot he would be a Kevin Love with better D.

  • KipSmithers

    Cat vs. Cat!

  • The Mauve Avenger

Nothing better than talent paired with passion.

  • thebossman15

dude chill, lebrons athleticism makes up for his lack of skill, dude doesnt have both..davis is already light years ahead of lebron if you look at what he is capable of doing as a big in comparison to what lebron can do as a forward

  • Matisse

“lebrons athleticism makes up for his lack of skill”

    STFU LMFAO.

@atldynamite:disqus I agree with everything you just said. His jump shot is fluid enough for that extra range.

  • Busta213

Lol, so Lebron is a threat to get a triple double every night purely off athleticism? Id love to hear an explaination of how that makes sense.
Anyways – its good to see Davis showing that he can live up to his billing

  • Stan hater

Yea man you’re right. I mean, it’s definitely not skills that makes Lebron an excellent passer. It’s his athleticism that makes him pass well. It’s not skill that made his jump shot and foootwork improve either. Wow man, your basketball acumen is enviable…Dude, this is a bball head website. This isn’t just a forum where fan boys of specific players come to make baseless, stupid comments about the guys better than their idols.

  • thebossman15

lmao footwork? im not saying he doesnt have any skill at all(i knew u lebron dickriders would attack me for that one) and yea sure he can pass..but offensively if you think fastbreak/backdoor cuts/unwarranted free throws/ wide open set jump shots are special, then you have no right to question my basketball acumen you clown..the guy is a stats whore similar to rondo except he can shoot better(not much to be proud of) he cant create off the dribble or score in a halfcourt set unless defended by slower guys or a mismatch in the post.. I dare you to try to explain where im wrong here without changing the subject…plus you really think anthony davis is my idol LMAO..the dude doesnt even crack my top 15..im just honest thats all

  • thebossman15

umm, when more then 3/4 of the rebounds are defensive and you can jump higher than pretty much everyone else on the floor at any given time and your coach will play you even with 3 minutes at the end of the game in a blowout in pursuit of double doubles, it kind of helps your cause. In terms of his passing ability that is the only legit skill that he is..offensively he scores off of pure athleticism(refer to above comment) and maybe 5% actual skill. Its alright man your clearly blinded by stats, its almost funny how you amongst others just choose to ignore it cuz hes won a couple rings

  • Saleem Rainman

who’s ur favourite player? I gurantee LeBron his better. lol.

  • thebossman15

^typical lebron dickriding/ irrelevant comment in defense of his LeQueen

  • Saleem Rainman

im not a fan of his, actually. BUT ^ typical Kobe dickriding, having the complulsive need to put down LeBron, who they consider his strongest competition(like its 2009), when in reality, there are another 4-5 players also better than him at this point of his career, here in 2014.

  • thebossman15

lol what? i never even mentioned kobe..typical lebron dickriding at its finest, insinuating that someone who doesnt think lebron is all he is hyped up to be is doing it in order to defend Kobe. I will admit though that Kobe is my favorite player(i know lebron is your favorite player but you are to much of a pu**y to admit it for the sake of this argument) and no i dont think lebron is his strongest competition, Tim Duncan if anything is his biggest competition today in terms of what they have done in their careers. I just like to humble you lebron nut riders and love it when you have to change the subject just like i said would happen, because you know everything i have said is 100% correct and have nothing to comeback with

  • Saleem Rainman

ive seen ur comments in the past. ur a kobe fan. i knew. And no, Nash is my fav player. (check the DP) any more accusations? Okay, good. I dont really know what the issue with Kobe riders and LeBron is, but there is an illogical hate there. Its strong within you.

  • thebossman15

theres no hate, i never said i hate the guy, he used to be one of my favorite players as hard as it might seem to believe..i just grew out of the kid mentality phase where high flying dunks and flashy passes meant you were the goat and that allowed me to change my perspective. And lets be real, there is much more unwarranted hate towards kobe by lebron riders than vice versa and you know it

  • Carter

Paul George won MIP last year

  • Above_You

I think he was referring to your idol, Kobe.

  • ATL dynamite

Yeah but if the Pacers continue to crash the rest of the league during regular season and PG continues to stack up his stats, who knows what’s gonna happen

  • http://twitter.com/niQknacks niQ

    Fantasy BEAST!

  • Chester

So yea…can’t look at the guy the same ever again lol. its just too weird.
    http://www.sportsgrid.com/nba/anthony-davis-hazing-video/

  • spit hot fiyah

yeah thomas, vucevic and drummond deserve mention

  • http://allthingsbeatrelated.blogspot.com/ ATBR

If he can keep that mid-range J consistent and develop a mean streak he’s going to be dominant for a good amount of time.

Complete irrelevant to everything but, I HATE HATE mush mouth interviews.lol, I really wish he would make an attempt to enunciate. I know post game interviews dont really provide the most ideal circumstances for clear dialogue, what with guys being half out of breath, exausted from the game and sweating everywhere, but I just wish certain players felt more compelled to communicate clearly to their global audience.

  • PC

I guess nobody wants to talk to you… everybody knows that kid in the class who yells the loudest and just repels everyone around him with his never lose attitude. Maybe you can just learn to appreciate the greatness and stop “hating”. You seem to hate Lebron so much you talking crap about him. But you are entitled to say whatever you want. I mean, almost the whole NBA nation knows his greatness, his MVPs, his Rings, his almost DPOY etc. If athleticism was all it matter, that’d be so many more Lebrons…

  • thebossman15

i could care less if anyone wants to talk to me, i dont want to be friends with any of you. I wouldnt expect someone to have anything intelligent to say in argument to the facts that i stated anyways, you would actually have to know about the game and clearly 5% of the people on this site actually do.Its like your all brainwashed and cant think for yourself, everytime i come in here with a “lebron isnt that good” argument and state FACTS so many of you get so butthurt its pathetic. If you really think im the one who yells the loudest and all that bs you are going on about, then you obviously never check the comment section(except for this thread) or you are just choosing to ignore it, cuz i only comment every now and then. Plus i never denied he was a good player, hes just not as good as the nba wants him to be, and Its funny how on this website he is looked at as god by so many of you people and you all start to cry when i say something mean towards him lol.

  • kc

Embarrassed is a very accurate description of what he did to Gasol an Kaman. This kid is gonna be a star.

  • Above_You

People don’t start crying, they start laughing when the comment is as ridiculous as yours. The conversation you are attempting to have has been had over and over and over again on this site. Go through the archives if you want to see how many times a hating Kobe fan has been broken down for that silly claim. At this point it’s just stupid to argue.

  • Busta213

I enjoy stats because they back up what I see. Perhaps you dislike them because they dont back up what you say?
For example anyone who was paying attention knows that Lebron was one of the best mid-range jumpshooters in the L last season. Even if you ignore advanced stats, he shot 40% from 3. Thats obviously some good shooting to anyone who isnt filled with hate for dude.
You are obviously ignoring the numerous games where he was a couple of stats away from a triple double but coach pulled him any – because it was a blow out.

  • thebossman15

ive been visiting this site for years now and never bothered to comment on it till a couple months ago, i have never once seen a kobe fan “broken down” , ive only seen a couple get attacked by multiple nut riding lebron fans blabbering nonsense.

Plus what silly claim have i made? its comical how the only thing i have said are —–>FACTS<—- about lebrons game and you want to turn it into a claim smh. Just advise your fellow lebron nutriders from making retarded statements like the one i responded too and you wont have to look as clueless as you do right now, you literally havent adressed any of the FACTS that i pointed out about lebron and at this point i dont even want to bother arguing with you because I know you will refer to google and the media rather than just basketball knowledge to address my statements like that idiot @Busta213:disqus who thinks lebron was one of the best mid range jump shooters in the league last year and probably uses his field goal percentage to determine that(when the majority of his field goals come in the paint) lmao SMH..a prime example of how stats arent everything. "Its to stupid to argue at this point" bs, you just dont know enough about the game to argue, so dont bother responding to my posts in the future

P.S- kobe is probably your favorite player's favorite player

  • Above_You

What have you proven? That Lebron’s success comes only from his athleticism? He’s not even the most athletic player in the league. The most athletic players barely grace the top 50. Did you prove he’s not the best player in the league? Hell no. So what is it that makes your comments worthy of debating? Nothing. You get laughs and that’s it.

You argue like an angry small child, which is why no one respects your opinion enough to engage you. Acknowledging the fact that Lebron is the leagues’s best player elicits a “Lebron nut hugger” response from you, which pretty much puts you in the Seed territory. No one takes your opinion seriously, and your cause isn’t helped by “Kobe is probably your favorite player’s favorite player”. Half the people here aren’t even Lebron fans, including myself, and even if we all were it does not change the truth in him being the best player in the league. So maybe you shouldn’t respond to anyone here if your only comments are Lebron hating and Kobe fanboy based. Those are the only comments people have seen you post, including myself.

  • thebossman15

You clearly dont know what this argument is about. Im not even going to argue lebron being “the best in the league” because hes just not(kobe, duncan alone have way better resumes and are way more skilled). I argue like a small child yet you don’t even know how to argue so what does that make you? This whole thing was me comparing anthony davis to lebron, kobe was brought into this by some dude named “saleem” in an attempt to divert the conversation rather than addressing the FACTS which i presented.

So no there are no Kobe fanboy based arguments, your just to stupid to not understand how when my favorite player gets dragged into an argument completely irrelevant to what is being discussed, that i will stick up for him..that doesnt make me a fanboy.

“davis is already light years ahead of lebron if you look at what he is capable of doing as a big in comparison to what lebron can do as a forward” was my comment, and look at how far we have sidetracked..its you who argues like a child and gets upset when things aren’t going his way. Moron.

  • Above_You

LOL I stopped reading after you claimed Lebron wasn’t the best in the league and followed it up with “Duncan and Kobe have more skills and better resumes”. That’s your proof? A career comparison of players who aren’t done playing yet means Lebron isn’t the best player n the league? LMFAOOOOOO I’m done here.

  • thebossman15

wtf… lmaoo what more is there to say? tim duncan is arguably the best power forward to ever play the game and kobe is right there with MJ, you just dont know how to argue “LMFAOOOOO I’m done here” was just another way of saying “F*** how do i argue this, i hardly know anything about the game, i thought being a really good fantasy player makes you the best in the league, i dont know how to evaluate skill, dont stats mean everything? isnt lebron the only player to have won 2 rings in a row?” the nba didnt start when lebron won his first championship, idiot.

  • Above_You

Dude, if you think career accomplishments make someone the current best player in the league, go right ahead and believe that. The rest of the basketball world is wrong, you are right, and no one is laughing at you LOLOLOL. MJ, Russell are also the current best players in the league. Magic and Bird are up there too right now.

  • thebossman15

That was only one part of my argument, and its the one part that you cant argue so of course you bring it up and try to poke fun at at it. Your the one being laughed at lmao, your trying to pick away at my comments and make it seem like what you believe is the norm. If you are talking about who had a better season last year than obviously lebron did because he won the ring with more help than the f***in incredibles in a year where there were more all stars injured during the playoffs than there were players that retired last season lolol. You know what man, I’ve noticed you haven’t explained your stance on why you think lebron is the best in the league and you come across as someone who cant formulate his own opinion and just listens to what steve kerr and your friends have to say, why dont you tell me why you think lebron is the best in the league? instead of agreeing with “the basketball world” because maybe where you are from people think lebron is so great but definitely where i’m from everyone still thinks he has a ways to go, which is why “the basketball world” wont help you, cuz like in real life you have to be able to have your own opinion, dumass, so go ahead say something smart for once, im sick of hearing your bs with no explanation,

  • Above_You

I’m not ging to argue with you because I don’t find a single one of your comments worthy of a respectable debate. Your logic is so moronic that you can name any past player with an amazing career resume and include them in this debate using your type of reasoning. You aren’t a rational person if you can’t see why talking about entire career resumes is the single dumbest route to your claim that he isn’t the league’s best player right now. It would be stupid to compare the resumes of players all currently playing even if two of them didn’t have 7 plus season of more experience, but it makes even less sense when you use that as your argument as to who the best player is today. How do you not see this? Your logic makes zero sense, therefore, your argument is too stupid to seriously engage. It doesn’t help your cause that you are blatantly using your favorite player as one of the guys you claim is better than the consensus No. 1 player in the world, when that player isn’t even top five in the league. You have no credibility. Sorry, but outside of LA LA land, no one can look at your rationale and co-sign it. You don’t need to be discussing any sport…ever.

  • thebossman15

Once again, that was one part of the argument and you still havent explained your stance, you dont need to be discussing any sport….ever, because clearly you dont know what you are talking about. So 27,6 and 6 isnt on the same level as 26,8,7? is that seriously what you are trying to tell me? albeit while carrying a shit team in the western conference playing extensive minutes? you rationalize by claiming he is the consensus no.1 player but do you really think thats what everyone thinks, because the all star polls beg to differ, but of course thats not the basketball world right? and you cant even name me 5 players better than kobe when hes healthy lmao quit with that bullshit, lebron is heralded as the best player simply because he has won the past 2 rings and the nba is pushing their agenda, its a business and once kobe retires theres gotta be someone who is the new face of the league which has been apparent moreso now that lebron has finally started winning and before that was always regarded as the next up, it will be the same thing for durant/rose etc when lebron is on his way out. Once again, you haven’t stated your opinion on why lebron is the best, just a bunch of nonsense. Sure lebron is regarded as the best in the league to some and to others he is not, im clearly one of the ones who thinks he is not, its called an opinion. For someone who says lebron isnt his favorite player in the league you come across pretty butthurt, and if your logic is that lebron won the championship and that is why he is the best player, then your logic makes no sense at all cuz in that case paul pierce was the best player in the league a couple years back, but who knows what your reasoning is, since you havent bothered to explain it lolol.

  • Above_You

I don’t think you know what the word consensus means. It’s not disputable that he’s the consensus best player in the league . At least look up the definition of the word before you argue what it is. SMH. Basic English. LMFAO dude, seriously you want to compare them the past few seasons? Show me how Kobe has been better than Lebron for the past five seasons. Flats stats, advanced stats. LOOK AT THE ENTIRE PICTURE. Kobe has been competing for best player at his position. There isn’t even consensus that he’s even been the league’s best SG for while now, much less the best player. And let’s not talk even about defense. Kobe isn’t even the best overall player in his conference, as Durant took that from him too.
