Evan Turner Hits Overtime Buzzer-Beater To Defeat Nets (VIDEO)

Ice in his veins.

Following a Paul Pierce three on Brooklyn’s final possession, Evan Turner exponentially increased the Nets’ pain with this buzzer-beating floater in overtime on Friday night. Turner finished the game with 29 points and 10 boards as the Sixers prevailed, 121-120.

    1st quarter: Offensive foul
Last seconds of the 4th Quarter: Play on

You are correct but I understand referees to a certain point. No referee (except Joe Crawford) likes to be in the center of attention and a no call in the last seconds is the exact way to achieve that in most cases.

I think it goes both ways. When they make the call at the end, we talk about them deciding the game, when they swallow their whistle, we talk about them ignoring the calls. lol. Refereeing is a hard, often lose-lose situation.

But I think being consistent throughout the game can only be a positive thing. Then players, coaches and fans will know what to expect. Maybe is PP is expecting the ref to just let them play, he jumps to contest instead of planting for a charge.
