Kobe Bryant Makes Season Debut (VIDEO)

Eighteenth year officially begins.

Nearly eight months after hobbling off the court with a shattered Achilles tendon, Kobe Bryant returned to action on Sunday night. And though he struggled mightily (9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 turnovers), and the Los Angeles Lakers lost 106-94 to the visiting Toronto Raptors, there were a few encouraging signs from the Black Mamba.

A lot of his jumpers were short. Just rusty. He looked decent enough. A lot of those TOs are gonna be ironed out once he gets used to his teammates in a competitive game.

The one play which said a lot about Kobe’s confidence right now in his legs: He passed a chance to posterize some toronto player. He’s still trying to get an idea about what he can and cannot do I guess.

Some of it’s rust, but dude looked a little bigger too. Definitely needs some more coniditioning.
