The Blackout Documentary (VIDEO)

The story of a blackout ruining a battle between Jay Z and Fat Joe’s streetball teams.

Back in the summer of 2003, Jay Z and Fat Joe each assembled star-studded streetball squads that were supposed to play one another in the EBC Championship at the legendary Rucker Park. Unfortunately, a blackout screwed everything up—and since then, the story has become streetball lore, a tale of the biggest game that never was. Above you can stream The Blackout, the full, definitive documentary on the non-game—which includes appearances from both rappers and a host of NBA players—or go download a copy for yourself at theblackout.tv

“The rosters were filled with NBA players. Fat Joe’s Terror Squad had Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, Zach Randolph, Stephon Marbury, Rafer Alston and Al Harrington. And Jay-Z’s S.Dot Carter team cobbled together a team that featured Lamar Odom, Sebastian Telfair, Jamal Crawford, and Eddy Curry, with LeBron James, Tracy McGrady and Shaquille O’Neal set to play the originally scheduled title game”
