Giannis Antetokounmpo Throws Down Dunk Over Kendrick Perkins (VIDEO)

The rookie formally announces his arrival.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s stat line against the Thunder Saturday night: 13 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals and this sick highlight. Pretty solid effort.

OKC made a huge mistake signing Perkins and not Harden two years ago, he’s nothing more than a bit player with a huge salary. Luckily Perkins contract expires in 2015, so the Thunder gets more money to spend on Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb.

okc didn’t sign perk two years ago

They traded for Perkins. They made a mistake signing Ibaka to an extension over harden

Antetokounmpo is soooo skinny. I half-expect dude to shatter every time he lands.

    Kendrick Perkins’ Communication:
    1 grunt= Yes
    2 grunts= No
3 grunts= He is intrigued, yet puzzled.

Should’ve used amnesty clause on Perk.

  • Mike Gilbert

no they didn’t. having 3 ball handlers on big deals makes a lot less sense then 2 ball handlers and a big. The year after the Harden trade, the Thunder had a better offense than with Harden. Trading him has allowed Jeremy Lamb and Reggie Jackson emerge as well

I love watching Perk get dunked on more than anybody. He gets so pissed about it afterwards.

  • Jake

He could have at least cocked the ball back ala Shawn Kemp.

They don’t need Harden anymore. They have Lamb, Jackson, Durant, Westbrook. All of them can score and handle the ball. Harden demands too much attention on the offensive side to warrant pairing him with 2 more high volume shooters.

  • Jake

Yup. I was actually surprised that they didn’t waive him in the offseason. He’s probably one of the most underrated centers in the past 10 years. What has he done of relevance since the championship season in Boston? I get that he mean mugs everyone and plays defense on occasion but they could have gotten that from Kenyon Martin for 1/20th the cost.

What happens when one of those ball handlers go down? The thunder barely made it passed the rockets in 6 games in the first round and then got annihilated by Memphis without Westbrook.

  • Max

    Overrated right? hah

  • Mike Gilbert

Are the Clippers a contender without Chris Paul? The Bulls without Derrick Rose? The Heat without LeBron? The Rockets without Harden? When teams lose a top 10 player, there is going to be a drop off

  • Jake

    Thanks bro…haha

  • RedDragon10

No the clippers and bulls aren’t even contenders with Paul or Rose fully healthy. What I’m trying to say is that I would take Durant and Harden over Memphis than what we saw with Durant and Ibaka last year (both cases without Westbrook)

  • Mike Gilbert

Sure, but I would take Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka over Durant/Westbrook/Harden…..you can’t just assume that one of your two best players is going to be injured
