Phil Jackson Says Michael Jordan Would Beat Kobe Bryant 1-on-1 (VIDEO)

Zen Master’s take

Well, that settles that … Phil Jackson weighed in on a bunch of hypothetical one-on-one matchups between NBA legends, and gave Michael Jordan the edge over Kobe Bryant. Bean, in all likelihood, doesn’t agree.

    Let’s agree to disagree, Phil

This topic has been beaten to a pulp by everyone since about 1998. Let’s move on. Also, Phil himself has said MJ is a better player about a hundred times.

Jordan himself said he doesnt think it would be that easy. I’d probably give him the edge just based on superior athleticism and finishing around the basket seeing as they both are unguardable 1 on 1

Darko Miličić versus Kwame Brown? I’d like to know.

  • Lloyd

This isn’t news. Phil has said something similar to this before. He probably gets asked this question so often that it’s ridiculous to him now. This entire segment was created just so they could ask him that question.

i was more interested in Phil’s story about how he asked Michael to go talk to Kobe about playing within the team concept….

Kobe is such a ball hog. People always forget what kind of guy he was from 96 – till the Gasol trade. He was the most hated NBA player for years. That doesn’t knock on his talent but, he will always be the piece of shit kid running Shaq and Phil out of town. Glad this clown is about done with the association.

I agree with everything except KD vs LeBron. I’m pretty convinced Kevin would beat out everyone mentioned in this segment, including Mike……..whoosh!!!

I think if they played one single 1 on 1 game it could go either way, and if it was a 5 game series I say MJ wins 3-2.

  • Matisse

That bit about Michael stripping Malone in the finals and being engineered by Phil is was just as intresting.

  • Matisse

We’ll playing one on one basketball doesn’t make you a better basketball player or win you championships. Playing with in a team does. It’s fun to speculate though. These are all time scoring machines I don’t thing any of the games would be close.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    oh yeah definitely!

  • Sérgio

Sure. Jordan may be a better player, but, 1 on 1, I’d put all my money on the Mamba.

  • Caboose

    Duh.

  • LakeShow

    Sounds right.

The battle of these giants goes back to the ancient Myth’s and legends of the Titans.

Red Rocket vs the White Mamba

^The world must know the result!^

Rose right after the ACL tear vs Kevin Ware right after the bone break…who wins?

  • Doug

Yeah, let the guy that coached each of them for about a decade have his opinion and you can have yours.
