Jamal Crawford out for the year. Huh?

At least he hit the game clincher last night

By Sam Rubenstein

This is a quick hitter post. Jamal Crawford might be out for the year. In light of yesterday’s Steve Francis discussion, this is very frustrating. The Knicks have gone from having 15 shoot-first point guards to having Stephon the oldest 30 year old on the planet (they say he can’t play back to backs on his turf toe!) and QRich is now the shooting guard. Is Nate Robinson going to get real minutes for a team that is in the playoff hunt? This Crawford injury is really upsetting, but if you have been a fan of the New York Knicks in the 2000′s, not surprising at all. Last night Eddy Curry proved he is better than Shaq at 10% of what it means to be Shaq. The Knicks are poised to make their run. And then this. Sucks.
It doesn’t hurt nearly as badly as Shaun Livingston’s knee, but it still hurts.

  • Bryant Reeves Posted: Feb.27 at 5:19 pm
HAHAHAHAHAHA – did you seriously think that the Knicks were going to make a playoff run? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (say Raps fans)

first? wow. that is nice… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Ghupxbj9g after seeing this i may never play basketball again…maybe football is just a little more safe.

i thought i had it, i took too long to act, i missed my best opportunity. does this make me a knick?

  • Nine XXVI Posted: Feb.27 at 5:25 pm
That sucks, he’s one of my favorite players to root for. The Knicks are screwed now… wait, they weren’t before hand?

  • Seth Posted: Feb.27 at 5:28 pm
The realist in me says the Knicks are screwed, while the diehard fan in me says that Nate Robinson is about to prove a lot of people wrong. I’m schizophrenic, by the way.

Aww, poor little Knickerbockers. Seriously, does it matter if he misses the rest of the year? They weren’t going anywhere. They may finish 12th in the East now instead of 10th.

OMG. ESPN stole Slam’s headline for their Scottie Pippen story. Blatantly stole the whole thing. It’s on the NBA page right now.

The East is wide open. I was watching the Knicks game at my friend’s house last night and we were talking about how we almost have pride in the KNicks again.
This put us back in our place.

So weird. I talked to Jamal after the game last night, and everything seemed perfectly normal. He was also wearing a huge Rocawear parka. Oh yeah, and the Livingston injury was horrible. Thanks to the local network showing it over and over.

Having suffered a knee reconstruction myself and hearing about how bad SL’s injury looks there’s no way im gonna click that link! Head up Shuan, i feel ya man… (No Francis)

  • lucci Posted: Feb.27 at 8:23 pm
yo you haters are trash, the knicks are making the playoffs, end of story

  • Patrick Posted: Feb.27 at 9:40 pm
haters are trash lucci. the east blows. alot. no, alot alot. they really could sneak in.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Feb.27 at 9:54 pm
They had a pretty good shot healthy, but if Jamal really is out the rest of the year, they’re in trouble. Especially if Francis can’t give much. And man, if Starbury is really hurting as bad as he says he is, this could get worse before it gets better.

  • Emry Posted: Feb.27 at 10:39 pm
Leave Nate on the pine and give Mardy C. that tick… 6’6 combo guard. Let’s go Temple Owls!

  • gelly Posted: Feb.27 at 11:01 pm
man the knicks are gonna make it.. we need nate to work on 18 ppg though.
    but we got this

  • Bimbo Coles Posted: Feb.28 at 1:03 am
let’s get this straight. the NETS or KNICKS are going for the 7th and 8th spots in the conference and are no longer trying to chase toronto.

  • Boyd Posted: Feb.28 at 6:17 am
Can we lobby the sternbot to move the Mavs out east, as geographically they lie east of the centre of the U.S, and then we can all enjoy a shit hot NBA finals? The Mavs would also finish with a record of 73-9 if this happened. As it is I think they’ll go 70-12 anyway.

  • [...] A couple of days ago, we found out that Jamal Crawford will likely miss the rest of the year due to a fractured right ankle. It should come as no surprise that Knicks fans did not take this well. Crawford was arguably the best player on the squad this year, hitting big shot after big shot, and their most reliable fourth quarter scorer. [...]
