Damon Jones Does Not Lack Confidence

The Cavs, rghtfully so, are known as LeBron James’s team. They can only go as far as he takes them. Take the much-hyped Pistons game from a couple of nights ago, for example: What was a relatively close game going into halftime turned into a humiliating blowout as soon as LeBron went down with a finger injury.

With LeBron’s status uncertain for tonight’s game against the Raptors (and perhaps a little while longer), some of his teammates seem to be insulted by the suggestion that they can’t compete without their superstar. OK, fine, it’s just Damon Jones:

Some Cavs, however, resent the implication they cannot win without James.

”At the end of the day, we have other guys that can play,” Damon Jones said. ”Regardless if anybody gives us credit for what we do. We’ve shown in the past when he’s missed a game we can be formidable.”

Formidable? Seriously? Wow.

Damon, how about you take a moment and just stop talking for a while, champ?

    If Damon is able to pull off one of Kidd’s triple a latte performances, I do believe they have a slight chance of winning against my Raptors.

    I hope Lebron doesn’t play tonight (even though I have him on my fantasy team) and Bosh does. The Raps need some momentum, even if it comes from beating a Lebron-less Cavs team.

    The Butler never ceases to make me laugh at his awfulness as a basketball player and a hype machine for broke skill set. I hold out hope that my son can be a great three point shooter, if nothing else, since one-dimensional players with that skill are always a commodity, like left-handed pitchers.

    The Sisters of Mary of the Blind are more formidable than the Cavs without LeBron now that they’ve got a 7-footer from Sweden in the middle! But as long as Isiah Thomas whom should be fired by now, is coaching the Knicks the Cavs can beat down the Knickerbockers but that’s about it. But Damon Jones still can dress his a** off, pimps up, oh’s down. Hey forward this to Damon can I get a pair of your Damon Jones China only kicks I need them to complete and my closet.

    haven’t heard “that bitch is sorry” but i think i’ll add that to my vocab. i’m not even sure how to use that, but will do my best implementing that in my everyday convo.
    and eboy, 1000% percent means…. net 10%? just fcuking with ya. seriously whenever i watch damon play i cringe and then laugh when i remember you calling him straight garbage.

    albie, “tbis” is a common trash talking term that is usually used on a “pretty” type player who can’t do much in the way of making strong basketball plays (ie: fellow commentor Bryan/Shia) who claims to have 40 foot range but not much else in the way of basketball skill.

    The Cavs are something like 4-1 (not counting the Pistons game, since he did play in that one) without LeBron. Of course, if you also count the games they were without LeBron because he was busy finishing high school they are prolly somewhere around 87-43795.

    Yeah, Damon definitely needs to take a few plays off on that one. They may compete w/o Bron, provided he doesn’t play tonight, but formidable? Yeah sure…..

    Damon has a ring. Rings do that to you. And if you look at his last two years in Miami, you have to wonder why he doesn’t get more time in Cleveland. Nets should trade Magloire for him on December 15. Nice trade for both parties.

    The thing is Damon Jones hasn’t earned the right to say as much as he says. Haven’t you noticed that it’s always the mediocre players who talk the most? You know the players that don’t really matter. E.g. Freddie Mitchel, the kicker for the Colt in 2004 just to mention a few. And look at what happened to them. I think the cavaliers need to do the same thing to Big lipped Jones.
