Q-Rich Doesn’t Fear the Celtics

The Knicks are on national television tonight (8pm EST, TNT) as they face off against Boston. To most, it should be a cakewalk for the 11-2 Celtics, but not to Quentin Richardson. Again, he’d like for everyone to know that he’s not afraid of the Big 3.

“It’s not that big a deal to us,” Richardson said of facing the 11-2 Celtics. “It’s like the media makes more of The Big Three and all of them. We’re not in awe of them. They ain’t won no championships. They have a good record right now, but that don’t matter. Dallas showed that [last season].”

“They’re not that deep of a team,” Richardson said. “After those three, there’s a significant dropoff.”

Though Richardson does make some good points – he’s right, the C’s aren’t all that deep – him and his teammates are in no position to be carrying themselves with any kind of swagger or braggodocio. Q, did you forget that you’re a Knick?

Coming off a frustrating loss in Cleveland (that ended with some heated words between KG and LeBron), and with a national audience tuning in, anything less than 20-point beatdown of the Knicks should be considered a failure.
