Q-Rich Doesn’t Fear the Celtics

by Marcel Mutoni

The Knicks are on national television tonight (8pm EST, TNT) as they face off against Boston. To most, it should be a cakewalk for the 11-2 Celtics, but not to Quentin Richardson. Again, he’d like for everyone to know that he’s not afraid of the Big 3.

“It’s not that big a deal to us,” Richardson said of facing the 11-2 Celtics. “It’s like the media makes more of The Big Three and all of them. We’re not in awe of them. They ain’t won no championships. They have a good record right now, but that don’t matter. Dallas showed that [last season].”

“They’re not that deep of a team,” Richardson said. “After those three, there’s a significant dropoff.”

Though Richardson does make some good points – he’s right, the C’s aren’t all that deep – him and his teammates are in no position to be carrying themselves with any kind of swagger or braggodocio. Q, did you forget that you’re a Knick?

Coming off a frustrating loss in Cleveland (that ended with some heated words between KG and LeBron), and with a national audience tuning in, anything less than 20-point beatdown of the Knicks should be considered a failure.

    How about a 104-59 beatdown?

Anyone who thinks the Celtics aren’t a deep team hasn’t been watching them play. The bench has more than handled their own business. Tonight’s game was ridiculous though. The Celtics are better, but they aren’t that much better. It just seems like the Knicks have had their spirit broken.

Or after he took (and made) a three in the fourth quarter up 46. I love it.

  • ericmontross

I love seeing this happen to the Knicks. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of headcases.

  • BuckshotLefunkstiggity

Q is afraid of the eye doctor he’s going to see in the morning after Pierce shot his pupils out in the 3rd quarter.

  • John E. Sanford

Damn that was an ass-whipping!!!!! Q did bring up some valid points though, but the counterpoint to his comments would be, you ain’t gotta be scared to get your ass whipped. Tonight’s game = case in point.

I would realllly pay to see the Knicks get shutout in the first quarter tmr against the Bucks… then again, that could very likely happen on its own

Golden State tonight–59 first half points. The Knicks tonight–59 total points, one heaping helping of crow for q-rich.

  • Timmyd

He does have some points, but WOW did the CELTICS serve the KNICKS a giant glass of SHUT THE HELL UP! LOL!! You can always tell when a team doesn’t have chemistry and that there are problems…because they get BLOWN OUT like that!! I mean if a team losses by 20 or 30, okay fine… that happens every now and then, even to the best of them….but 5-0 POINTS!!! That doesn’t make no d@mn sence, my NIECE could have played better against the CELTICS then them… and she’s 4 yrs. old! That FRANCHISE has a serious problem… they should have just kept Coach LARRY BROWN and let him fight through the STORM, but instead they gave those PLAYERS the POWER and got rid of him, now look at them….all sitting on the BENCH with their face CRACKED on NATIONAL T.V… On the other hand, I wish the CELTICS the best of luck, K.G is one of my favorite players… but I wish people will stop jumping on the BANDWAGON and leave it alone now. This team just got together, people tend to forget about DETROIT and SAN ANTONIO (the two most consistent teams over the last 5 yrs) they may not be as exciting to watch, but they get the job done when it counts, and the CELTICS have to go through BOTH of them (which i’m not so sure they can do). The CELTICS haven’t even met the MAVS or the SUNS or the JAZZ (they beat a TIRED DENVER team coming off a back-to-back, so I don’t even count that game). My point is they STILL have to meet the WEST, which is far more SUPIRIOR. Even LEBRON sent a message the other night with the CAVS win saying “Hey, we are STILL the defending EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPS”, although i’m not so sure how far LEBRON can continue to go alone. The CELTICS may be able to do all that in the EAST, but I still don’t know about the WEST. I hope for they’re sake they can win something withing the next few years, because then all the BAND-WAGONERS are going to jump off the BANDWAGON and talk CRAZY about them. Either way it is going to be entertaining, because these days some sports fans (and the MEDIA) flip-flop more then a FISH OUT OF WATER.

Man if that is not a lesson on when to keep your gangsta comments to yourself, I dont know what else is.

Be hard on the inside Q, on the inside!

    Jay Bee:
I just printed out your comments cuz I ran out of TP! Cognitive Dissonance? How about Cognitive incompetence? LMAO ( A mind is a terrible thing to waste)

  • James

    80-37 at one point
    Hahahahahaha

  • James

Wheres Jay Bee and his sheep theory gone now eh?

  • Chris

In order to avoid embrassing situations like this one, Q Rich should never open his fat mouth again.

  • Jess

    hahaha.agreed

  • http://www.myspace.com/davidtheterrible IHateLennyKravitz

Q-Rich? He still plays? Who knew? I have never enjoyed watching the nix lose like they did last night to the Celtics. It was beautiful, except for Nate ‘Little Bitch’ Robinson getting lucky and helping the nix avoid their franchise-low point total.

If I was a nix fan, I would pay someone to off James Dolan. He’s the root of the problem. As long as he’s the owner, the nix will suck balls.

  • http://www.myspace.com/davidtheterrible IHateLennyKravitz

The Celts are one KG injury away from being back in the lottery. None of these Boston teams would be where they’re at right now if it wasn’t for stupid Minnesota teams getting rid of good players (KG, David Ortiz, Randy Moss).

    LOL @ Q-Rich

Boston won by how much? 40 or 50?

  • Todd

Hey how’d that work out for Richardson? And then again for the Heat?

“You can bet your ass the Celtics won’t be getting out of the MIA with a win.” – Attention! We have a comedian in the house. Very funny.

And guess how many 20-10′s Shaq has this year? 2! Or 2 less than the number of Heat wins. Enough said.

It was like watching someone play NBA Live on easy….

  • QQ

It’s ok to be motivated by a rival’s comments, but this is freaking murder, man.

  • Todd D.

I guess airballs speak louder than words, right Q. And if they said anything after missing the rim entirely they it was “Q IS SHOOK”.

  • George from western Ma,

I have seen people like Q-Rich,people who talk nothing but trash against the NBA champs what a big laugh.I can smell two things coming from Q-Rich,direction 1 is fear and 2 is jealousy,Go Celtics
