Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo says that a trade one of these days wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

Quick Russ, make a trade scenario with Toronto players.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Dec.28 at 3:17 pm
    Roster’s too uninspiring, sorry.

  • what Posted: Dec.28 at 3:23 pm
bargnani and rasho for ben wallace

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Dec.28 at 3:24 pm
They should go after Pau Gasol.

  • craig Posted: Dec.28 at 3:27 pm
joey graham, juan dixon and andrea bargnani for pau gasol and damon ‘mighty mouse’ stoudamire

  • Yusuf Saber Posted: Dec.28 at 3:42 pm
I live in Toronto and love my Raptors. They need to trade Juan Dixon and T.J. Ford to New Jersey for Jason Kidd. You guys might think I’m crazy but it’s best for both teams.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Dec.28 at 3:44 pm
Or Vince Carter. He’d be a good fit in Toronto, wouldn’t he?

  • Terrigno Posted: Dec.28 at 4:02 pm
now that JMoon is in town Joey Graham is expendable. Graham and Juan Dixon would make a nice package, maybe throw in Rasho. Im not sure what that’d get you, but it sounds like the raptors are probaly looking for another point guard.

  • TADOne Posted: Dec.28 at 4:02 pm
Dixon and Ford for Kidd? What the hell is in the water in Toronto?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Dec.28 at 4:06 pm
    Ice, mostly.

  • Yusuf Saber Posted: Dec.28 at 4:07 pm
T.J. Ford is an amazing PG. He just doesn’t fit in Toronto’s system. He scores first and passes second. Thats why, right now, I think Jose Calderon should be the starting PG over Ford (when he’s healthy that is). Kidd would fit perfectly in Toronto’s system. And nobody can hate on the Raptors, they’re like the Lakers of the east –up n’ coming. Soon time.

  • craig Posted: Dec.28 at 4:09 pm
    yusef…..yususefare an idiot

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Dec.28 at 4:13 pm
you are killing it today, Russ.

  • craig Posted: Dec.28 at 4:14 pm
we dont have the pieces to trade for a starting pg, nor should we. Jose has a bright future in the league (and hopefully with us) T.J might be done for good……who knows??? In the meantime, D.M is not the guy to play any sort of significant minutes behind the spaniard. The play here is for us to get a guy that can come in and play 12-15 minutes of serviceable ball behind jose. I have to believe that guy is available for the pieces that we are willing to move. I was half kidding with stoudamire…..but thinking along those lines gets us our boy.

  • Captain America Posted: Dec.28 at 4:56 pm
Agree with Russ, Gasol makes sense.

  • FLUXLAND Posted: Dec.28 at 5:22 pm
    Yusuf? What system, bro?

  • Yusuf Saber Posted: Dec.28 at 5:36 pm
I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense to bring in Gasol. We need a center no doubt until Bargnani develops cuz Rasho won’t last. But like you said, Ford may be done for good. If not, he won’t be as consistent as anyone would like.

  • Pat Is Five Posted: Dec.28 at 5:43 pm
Juan Dixon and Joey Graham for Tony Massenburg

  • Tyler Durden Posted: Dec.28 at 6:28 pm
    Dixon & Graham for Udrih

  • what Posted: Dec.28 at 6:30 pm
Why do all these moron raptors fans think the 12 best players in the league all play for their own team? I’m a Hawks fan and I wouldn’t trade Anthony Johnson for Ford and Dixon. Sure the Nets would trade a top 3 PG for a guy who may never play again and an inconsistent undersized SG. Gimme a break.

  • Bryant Reeves Posted: Dec.28 at 6:38 pm
What? you wouldn’t trade journeyman Johnson for Ford and Dixon? I hope the only reason is because Ford is hurt.

  • Bubba Chuck Posted: Dec.28 at 7:12 pm
They should just trade their whole roster away for a bunch of rookies. maybe keep bargnani, bosh, kapono or sum1

  • Gumdrop Posted: Dec.28 at 7:26 pm
That’s insanely stupid, Bubba. They have a tremendous amount of talent and depth at a low cost with young guys like Delfino, Moon and Calderon. They have been inconsistent so far this season, but it’s a long way from needing to be blown up. They are at a perfect time to add quality, not rebuild.

  • Jess Posted: Dec.28 at 7:33 pm
The Raps are not going to trade Bargnani or Ford..I see Joey and Juan going but I dont even think Graham should go..I mean people are saying something needs to happen because they are on a 3 game losing streak…I mean come on..3 games thats nothing.I can see a trade coming but nothing huge – this team has chemistry. What – you wouldnt take TJ and Juan for Johnson? Is that because your player potentially took Ford’s value away????
Dont look for a major trade in Toronto in the next two months….

  • what Posted: Dec.28 at 8:10 pm
I wouldn’t take TJ and Juan Dixon for Anthony Johnson because TJ’s career is in jeopardy and there are about 50 players like Juan Dixon in the NBA (including Salim Stoudamire who the Hawks have already). Even if Ford’s career wasn’t potentially over right now, you have to consider salaries — would I rather have Anthony Johnson at $2 million/year than the injury prone Ford at $8 million/year? Absolutely. My earlier comment was a response to the guy who said if the Nets trade Kidd for Ford and Dixon it’s a good trade for both teams. Thats the most ridiculous trade proposal i have ever seen that Sam Smith didn’t make up.

  • what Posted: Dec.28 at 8:12 pm
Now if you were offering Calderon and Juan Dixon for any PG on the Hawks i would be an idiot not to accept it. Calderon not only makes just $2.5 mil per year but he’s arguably a better pure point guard than Ford straight up. Salaries matter when you are talking trades.

  • BETCATS Posted: Dec.28 at 8:14 pm
    how about tj ford for………………………..

  • thesubwayconnection Posted: Dec.28 at 8:26 pm
I’d vote that they go after Gasol, personally. If they could find a way to keep Bosh and Bargnani while getting him, they’d be huge and skilled.

  • Jukai Posted: Dec.28 at 8:37 pm
You know… Gosol and Bosh would be pretty mint.

  • Jukai Posted: Dec.28 at 8:38 pm
Also, I’m not too sure TJ Ford has much trade value… you know, since he’s contemplating retirement.

  • Jamie Posted: Dec.28 at 8:47 pm
While were on the topic of Raptors, check out this chris bosh vid, hilarious stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv7IZP7u9FE

  • Slim Posted: Dec.28 at 9:03 pm
    Bargniani for YiJianLian!!!

  • Bubba Chuck Posted: Dec.28 at 11:00 pm
F*ck u gumdrop! and its impossible for them 2 trade tj ford rite now

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Dec.28 at 11:22 pm
Some of you guys aren’t even thinking on what you should post here about trades. Yeah, basically trading Ford for Kidd makes sense, people! Of course not, moron, it’s not even sure if Ford will play again, and a trade between division rivals hardly ever happens. Another guys mentioned trading for Udrih. When you post under the name “Tyler Durden”, it doesn’t mean that you can act like a dumba$s. Do you really think Sacramento wants to get rid off Udrih? What about that other guy, Mike Bibby? Udrih is a relative cheap PG who actually is playing pretty good, so why would they want to trade him? Right, they won’t!

  • dma Posted: Dec.29 at 3:33 am
jason williams to toronto for jason kapono ha!

  • Reggie Evans Posted: Dec.29 at 5:37 am
    Is Vince Carter available?

  • Slim Posted: Dec.29 at 6:31 am
Seriously..Toronto does not need to make any trades…they’re fine the way they are..its just a tough slump for them…if something waive Darrick Martin, hire him as an assistant coach and sign Earl Boykins

  • Gumdrop Posted: Dec.29 at 1:27 pm
Your second comment amused me far more than your first Bubba. Well done.

  • Jess Posted: Dec.29 at 1:53 pm
Slim is absolutely right..I dont even feel the Raps are in a slump right now. They lost three games in a row and they came back and beat the Spurs. As long as they keep up their defence and Bosh and Jose keep playing like they are the Raps are good for the lung haul. No trades needed in T.O right now

  • apollo 33 Posted: Dec.29 at 2:16 pm
hey russ, canada is cold jokes. man you’re hilarious, definitely last comic standing material. it will help me with my “americans are dumb” bit.

  • MJ Posted: Dec.29 at 7:40 pm
The Raptors just beat the Spurs in San Antonio! Anyway, if there are any trades, I’m sure they will be minor (Dixon/Graham). The Raptors’ depth is outstanding, we run at least 10 deep every night.

  • Art Vandelay Posted: Dec.29 at 8:34 pm
hmmmm…T-Mac back to Toronto? Just dreamed of seeing another 30ppg season of him, but for two reasons, that won’t happen: T-Mac, as sad as it is, can’t stay healthy, and I also don’t want to have CB4 (who’d surely have to go to Houston in exchange) play with Yao… I wouldn’t want ANY player to have to play with Yao…

  • Slamyomama Posted: Dec.29 at 10:03 pm
toronto is a great team inconsistent or not they have a great roster no matter what anyone says

  • Pat Is Five Posted: Dec.30 at 7:10 am
As good as Toronto’s team is, I’m sick of watching Bosh clang jumpers. Delfino for President.

  • d1n Posted: Dec.30 at 6:40 pm
    dixon & graham for francis

  • Eli Posted: Dec.31 at 5:56 am
sources say they want ak47, i think its bs though

  • Nad Posted: Dec.31 at 9:33 pm
I think they should try to get Brad Miller or Troy Murphy and get rid of Graham, Dixon and Rasho.

  • t.dot dude Posted: Jan.1 at 3:38 pm
    dixon, and moon for ak47
