Magic and Isiah: Best Friends Forever

Magic Johnson is a lot of things to a lot of people: The greatest point guard in the history of the game; a failed talk show host; a wildly successful business man.

He is also the world’s foremost Isiah Thomas apologist.

The Magic man believes Isiah’s Knicks will turn their disaster of a season around, and actually make the Playoffs.

“They’re going to make the playoffs. I think that they’re going to be a tough eight or seven seed, too.”

“I can see when teams are starting to make their run,” Johnson said. “And I think that they’ll settle in after the All-Star break and make their run. No way that I don’t see them making that eight, seven seed.”

Presently, only the Heat have a worse record than New York in the Eastern Conference.

Maybe Magic knows something we don’t. He is paid (handsomely, too) to talk about basketball on television after all. That or he’s still woozy from all those kisses he and Isiah planted on one another in the late ’80s.

    Yet another reason to install the 16 playoff system. It’s ludicrous that the Knicks could even be THINKING playoffs–but given the sorry state of the East, they can.

    Whenever Magic is in the TNT studio with Chuck, Ernie, and Kenny, I think it throws off the show some. Doesn’t seem to flow.

    Good Prediction Magic. So they sneak in the playoffs. That’s great new…until they get swept by Boston or Detroit. As the coaches told Happy Gilmore as his hockey tryouts “Better Luck next year hahaha”

    I’m sure the Knicks’ decent play in LA this week prompted Johnson to say this. Anyone who puts up a fight against the Lakers should make the playoffs in Magic’s book.

    The Knicks are a joke thanks to Thomas and I see thanks to Magic…Thomas had a blank check, has a huge payroll, MSG is advertising tickets for 10 dollars, Marbury is gone, team has a 30% win percentage and Thomas will be happy as &^&^& to get in the playoffs…that is what it has come to….and if they make the playoffs with a 35% win percentage Thomas will have thought the season a great sucess….what a joke…..Dolan and Thomas deserve each other!!!!!!!!!

    Maybe Isiah’s on his way out and Magic will take Zeke’s spot. That’s the only scenario that Magic makes sense saying something like that.
