Player of the D.A.Y.

He did it again. (Stay healthy Stay healthy Stay healthy)

By Sam Rubenstein

Steve Kerr, one of the great three point shooters of all-time, gives a pep talk to a team that used to be one of the best three-point shooting teams ever but was struggling by going more conventional, and look what happens. 137 points, 20 threes. That is some good pep. But the award goes to a different inspirational leader who has launched threes in bunches.

Baron Davis, 34 and 14 after a slow start, carrying the load for Golden State in crunchtime. They won the game because of Baron, Stephen Jackson had open looks because of Baron. An obvious Player of the D.A.Y.

More bad news for the Spurs, according to John Hollinger’s latest invention, San Antonio has a 0.2% chance of winning the championship. That’s 2 out of 1000, not even 100. It’s based on if they keep playing how they’ve been playing, but still… come on. I learned about this from Firejoemorgan, one of the best things about baseball season. Please guys, just give us one basketball post a month!

Wow, where the f*ck does Hollinger get this stuff?

Baron was unreal last night and you can tell he just lives for moments like that, especially in the home arena!

Hollinger has about a 0.00000000000000000000001 % chance of saying something that actually makes sense…

so if spurs have a 0.2% of winning the chip, what about the rest of the league? is hollinger saying no one’s going to win a chip this year?

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

0.2% for the spurs to win a chip? that lakers AND hornets have better chances to get to finals than spurs???? this seems to defy logic. HORNETS??? i like the team but HORNETS MAKING THE FINALS OVER SPURS????

if you like basketball you have to go to the O arena at least once. the atmosphere is ridiculous there. it’s almost like a football (soccer) game in europe.

It’s at the top of my list of places to catch a game! I LOVE when the crowd just stands the entire game!

The spurs have a 0 percernt chance of winning the title. It is just the way the banana swings in the NBA now. No one repeats and it is not happening until I turn 50. play wit it.

John Hollinger’s over-reliance on the numbers often makes for entertaining proclamations.

I like that the Rockets and Spurs have identical chances. Since, you know, the Rockets are the tenth seed. These things are based on his “Power Rankings” which also hilariously rate the Jazz over the Spurs. And oh yes, the Warriors play the Pacers and their cast away softies Sunday. Anyone else going?

I usually love anything that gives the Pistons the best chance to win it all, but Hollinger is a moron. I guarantee if you asked Hollinger to back this up with money, he would choke on his words worse than Roger Clemens.

well as messed up as the calculations are the rockets arent (with their record) projected to make the playoffs, but…neither are the jazz. does this guy even read what he writes? just to make sure it even has a slight chance of MAKING SENSE?
