The Post Up: Three Kings

Artest, Bibby and Martin make the Kings better.

By: Holly MacKenzie

After a busy Monday, we have only two games to recap today, Suns/Bucks and Nets/Kings. The Suns/Bucks match up was a good one and the game was close throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Nash drop a season-high 37 and it was nice to see Grant Hill back from his appendectomy surgery. The Suns have dealt with a lot of questioning already this season, but they are still on top in the West and were the first Western Conference team to hit 30 wins.< p/>

I tried to watch the Nets/Kings game and it just did not happen. About midway through the second my interest in the game was gone and I started a Jordan marathon. I did stop to check in on the game every so often, but by the start of the fourth, I gave up.

As a Laker fan I’ve got to comment on how pleased I am with their constantly improving official website. They’ve just got a new blog up where they will be blogging from the road, adding video, etc. The first video was a montage of the Lakers getting ready to board the plane, dropping off their luggage etc. Pretty standard stuff they show on those types of things, but the music was awesome. Mos Def’s “Traveling Man” is one of my favorite songs. Mix that with the Lakers and it is a hit every time!

I forgot to mention that OJ Mayo was shown in the crowd of the Lakers/Nuggets game Monday night. Turns out he might be in a little bit of trouble because the tickets to the game were given to him by Carmelo which may be in violation of an NCAA rule. They both should have known this but, from the way OJ was talking up the tickets and how good the seats were (“I could talk to Reggie Miller and tease him about UCLA”), he didn’t seem aware of any possible sanctions coming his way. I think the whole thing is pretty stupid and if an NCAA player can get free tickets to NBA games, great. At least they’d appreciate the game more than those annoying fans who are more interested in keeping the opponent under 100 points so they can get free chalupas. The best part of the article was when Mayo was quoted as saying he got the tickets at a party hosted by Carmelo on Saturday night:
“I was talking to him like, ‘Man, you’re out pretty late. You’ve got a game tomorrow against Kobe [Bryant],’ “ Mayo said. “He said, ‘Nah it will be all right.’ And then he asked, ‘You want to come to the game?’ And I was like, ‘Sure.’ ”

I am certainly not making fun of Carmelo for the ankle injury because I hate seeing anyone injured and Lord knows I do not need any more bad karma placed upon the Lakeshow, but that party-hosting didn’t really work out so well for Mr. Melo the next night.

Caught some of Sam Mitchell’s media time with reporters after the Raptors practice today. Of course, he put one reporter in his place when he did not ask him a question politely enough for his liking. “Are you demanding me or telling me? Ask me nicer”. I love Sam.

He also spoke about Caron Butler and how well he has been playing. It will be interesting to see how things fall into place when Gil does get himself back. As good as the Wiz have been playing lately, personally, I can’t wait to see one of my favorite player/personalities back on the court.

Some more news on Nene was released yesterday. Unfortunately, the initial reports saying that the testicular tumor which has since been removed was benign were false, but thankfully it was caught very early and doctors said there would be a very low chance of recurrence. Thoughts and prayers will remain with Nene as he continues his recovery. As Russ mentioned yesterday, the tumor was found during a routine league-mandated drug test. Thank goodness for that drug-test.

“Hopefully I can make a name for myself and Michael Jordan sounds pretty good to me”

Since there were only the two games on the schedule and one was absolutely awful, I got to break out Ultimate Jordan and watch some old highlights of MJ last night. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched any of the discs and I always forget how skinny young Michael was. I get so nostalgic for my childhood when I see vintage Jordan. Come Fly With Me was a regular that had to be copied over to other tapes so that it wouldn’t wear out completely. Ultimate Jordan and the Lakers NBA Dynasty Series: The Complete History are still two of my most favorite presents of all-time.

Phoenix 114 Milwaukee 105

Leading Phoenix to their fourth straight victory last night was Steve Nash who scored a season-high 37 points in addition to his usual 10 assists to help the Suns put away a Milwaukee team who hung around until the final minutes of the game in a 114-105 victory on the road. Besides the win, Phoenix had another piece of good news as they saw the return of Grant Hill after missing seven games since having an appendectomy January 9th. Even with their starting lineup back to normal the Bucks were tough and thanks to a 38-point second quarter in which they held the Suns to only 24 points they held onto a 62-54 halftime advantage. The Suns would cut that lead to six going into the fourth and thanks to eight quick points from Raja Bell to kick off a 29-13 surge, the Suns found themselves back on top 106-99 with under three minutes to play as Nash knocked down his last of three triples during the stretch. While Michael Redd would knock down two free throws, Nash would set up Amare Stoudemire for basket and Shawn Marion would put the game out of reach on another basket that put Phoenix up nine with under a minute left in the game. The Suns won despite being out-rebounded 44-35, thanks to connecting on 11 three-pointers as Milwaukee hit only four. Besides Nash’s big night, Stoudemire had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, Raja Bell finished with 19 points and Marion added 14. Hill had 8 points in his return. Redd would finish with 28 in the loss for Milwaukee as Andrew Bogut scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had 4 assists. Bobby Simmons scored 15 points, Charlie Villanueva added 14 and Charlie Bell had 11 points and 8 assists. The Bucks were without Mo Williams who sat out with a sprained finger.

Sacramento 128 New Jersey 94

The Kings are a very different team with Mike Bibby, Ron Artest and Kevin Martin healthy and in the lineup. Last night they showed just how good they could be on the offensive end as they routed the Nets 128-94 thanks to a fantastic all-around performance from Artest. The Kings shot a season-high 57% from the floor in the game and the Nets were helpless at trying to stop them. Down 11 at the end of the first quarter things just went downhill from there as the Nets trailed by double-figures for the entire second half of the game. The lead swelled to 29 early in the fourth and with the benches cleared the Kings got their most-lopsided victory of the season. The Kings out-rebounded the Nets 41-29 and while the Nets never led in the contest, Sacramento’s largest lead was 36 points. Sacramento had seven players in double-figures as compared to only four for the Nets. They were led by Ron Artest’s 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals while Kevin Martin had 19 and Bibby finished with 15. Beno Udrih and Brad Miller each had 14 points while Miller added 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Francisco Garcia added 13. Vince Carter had 21 points and 8 assists for New Jersey, Richard Jefferson scored 18 points and Jason Kidd added 13 points. Malik Allen had 14 off of the bench in the loss.

mmm, saying the LA Times server is down right now, if the link still doesn’t work in a little bit I will try to track down the article some other way.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 5:41 am
Holly, what you playing at being up this early?!

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 5:44 am
Gil needs to be at the Allstar game. Or more accurately, the Allstar game NEEDS Gil. Give him the chance to plan his own competition. His rules, his ideas, his competitors. Make it happen Sternbot.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:12 am
    Wow, the Post Up already????

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:18 am
Karmalo Anthony had it coming because he’d partied all night before the game

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:49 am
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 6:51 am
New Jersey are pushing the Kn*ks hard for the title of worst team in New York. Beaten by 38? Ouch. They need to rebuild and they need to do it now. Chicago and New Jersey swap-fest anyone? Deng and Hinrich for Kidd and Williams? Although as far as NJ should be concerned, getting rid of Carter should be priority.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:55 am
Holly?! holly?.. olly?..olly?…. Keith?! Keith?.. eith?.. Anyone? anyone? nyone?.. I’m all alone in here

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:56 am
    Oh hey Keith

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 6:57 am
Re-evaluating my trade suggestion, it really wouldn’t add a whole lot to either side. It’s a short term solution for the Bulls who clearly need to ship Ben and as for the Nets, well, if they trade Kidd, they are making their organisation worse. So in conclusion, the Nets and Bulls should never do business.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 6:58 am
    Hey Hish…how you doing man?

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 6:59 am
New Jersey has the most talented losing team in Nets history.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:01 am
I’m about to lose my internet privileges today. So not good because I won’t be able to log on anymore from work. that’s pretty sh*tty… hope you’re doing better

  • arthur Posted: Jan.23 at 7:09 am
Remember when people were seriously calling Vince the next Jordan, and asking who was better, him or Kobe? Seems kind of silly now.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 7:13 am
Ah, man, thatis harsh. I don’t know how I’d survive without the internet. Why are they taking away your privileges? Abusing of the system? As for the Nets, they have the most talented team in history to be losing by 30+ to an average Kings team.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 7:17 am
It didn’t at the time though Arthur. Back then, Jerry Stackhouse was even compared! But VC was aweomse in the beginning. He was fearless. Then, he stopped driving to the rim and started chucking shots up from 18 ft out.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:39 am
No I just wasn’t supposed to have access in the first place. I guess I got it by mistake. Most of my co-workers don’t have internet access, so I tried to keep it a secret for a while. A few weeks ago, somebody noticed, and now it’s getting revoked.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:42 am
hi keith, hisham, hello holly, ur very early for the US, not much to say about the games, both were blowouts.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:45 am
Oh and Holly, I still have a bunch of Jordan tapes, plus a whole lot of taped classics that i can’t watch anymore because i don’t have a VCR. Converting to DVD is expensive. Very expensive. Which sucks. I just keep getting more and more depressed

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:48 am
poor hisham. dvd is gonna b outdated soon anyways, not sure what but itll happen.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:48 am
Hursty. Is it Thurday yet, over where you live?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 7:50 am
Tomorrow’s Post Up will be terrifying–there’s like 37 games on the schedule.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:51 am
Yeah thanks for making me feel better. I’m about to have stuff on carriers from 2 generations ago

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:52 am
Any games worthy of extra attention, Russ?

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 7:52 am
I’ve still got a bunch of game footage back from 96-98. Mainly Bulls games and the overrated Laker shows from ’97. They were all I had access to on NBA 24/7. Believe it or not Scoop actually co-presented that show. No-one will ever compare to those Bulls teams. No-one.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 7:52 am
    Except maybe the ’07 Celtics.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:53 am
It’ll be weird watching dominique, bird, jordan, miller, kemp, penny and others from the 80′s and 90′s on anything other than videotapes though

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:54 am
ive got ultimate jordan holly, the one with his greatest games? the finals against the jazz and barkley, with the celtics playoff game and the cavs 69 point game. he was skinny (but that was when he would dunk over people (when he was lighter) not that he was any less athletic when he put on weight.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 7:54 am
Russ, I didn’t get chance yesterday to say great piece on the overblown ‘allstar’ label. Nicely done.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:56 am
in sydney its 11pm (where i live) est. (we have daylight savings. in perth (the other side of the country its 8 or 9.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:56 am
I used to tape the 2 minute NBA bit on CNN World Sport every day, because that’s all i was getting in Holland (for free anyway). Those tapes are fun recaps of about 4 seasons starting in ’99

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 7:58 am
    co-sign Keith.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:59 am
i have a championship game in the morning for our firsts (varsity team), wish me luck i gotta sleep, ill let u know how it goes tomorrow probly.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 8:00 am
Ha! Yeah, I did the same Hish. I also held out for every Sunday when Alex English would co-present a 30 minute NBA show. Only thing was, it was often replaced by the news and when it did show, it would break for adverts every 5 minutes. Thank God for the interweb.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 8:01 am
    Good luck.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 8:02 am
    thanx, im out.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 8:07 am
I was so happy when they would show a player special on World Sport, because then the 1 or two minutes would quickly turn into 5 to 8 minutes of actual NBA stuff on TV. That stuff would absolutely make my day after a hard day of school. I don’t care if it was about Chris Porter or Mark Madsen. There was basketball on tv. I would also edit away the boxscores, because all i wanted to see was basketball, haha. Right now i’m kinda sorry i did that

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 8:10 am
I used to do the same man…ridiculous antics just watch the game. Yeah, we also had a show called Transworld sport – 6am every saturday, so I’d get up early in the hope they’d have ball on there. Didn’t matter if it was the Chinese leagues or the NBA – ball is ball.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 8:11 am
Now I know better. Ball isn’t ball because the WNBA sucks.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jan.23 at 8:24 am
    got damn

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 8:44 am
Hey, if had nothing to do at home, and the WNBA was on, i would watch.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 8:46 am
If I had nothing to do at home and the WNBA was on, I’d watch American Idol.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 8:59 am
    No you wouldn’t

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 9:02 am
No, you’re right. I’d record American Idol and watch it later. I’d shave my cat instead of watching the WNBA.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 9:02 am
    would you really?

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 9:09 am
Ha! Of course not. On a basketball related note – Chris Kaman is averaging 17 and 13 so far this year and yet he’s getting no credit. Ridiculous.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 9:10 am
Thanks guys (about the All-Star thing). And much as I appreciate Goody’s contributions to the site, I can’t really get into the WNBA either. I think I’ve been to all of two or three games, including the inaugural All-Star game. And my fondest memory of THAT game was watching Wes Unseld fall asleep at his seat WHILE the game was going on.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 9:11 am
Top three games tonight (IMO) are Wizards/Cavs, Blazers/Hornets and Lakers/Spurs.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 9:12 am
If Wes Unseld is bored by it, then so am I.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 9:14 am
Russ, one thing about your ‘Hey now…’ piece from yesterday: don’t you think jamal crawford would essentially be steve francis but with better range at an allstar game? steve francis really disappointed cause he tried too hard with dumb AND1 type moves. Do you think crawford would be different?

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jan.23 at 9:14 am
caron vs. lebron should be fun.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 9:16 am
I do think Crawford would be different. He’s got a better mentality than Stevie Me, for starters. AND he’s got a better handle. I mean, Francis had a crossover, but Jamal is next level.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 9:17 am
Keith, disappointing.. I was totally visualising your drunk and loud redfaced englishness shaving your cat in front of the TV.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jan.23 at 9:17 am
orlando vs. memphis and denver vs. atlanta should also be good games. and charlotte, just to see gerald get a quadruple double.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 9:18 am
Unless the Magic are playing the Tigers, I don’t care about that game at all.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 9:21 am
Blazers-Hornets should be cool, indeed. It’s hard to pick a favorite from those two.. I really like both.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 9:24 am
Wow, what did Holly post this as she was tucking herself into bed?? Keith/Hisham: Pretty impressive that you guys had a convo by yourselves for almost 4 hours.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 9:25 am
Ha, thanks Tad. Being euro’s though, we get up a lot earlier in the day…and if we’re not drinking, we need to pass the time another way.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 9:27 am
Blazers/Hornets will definitely be the best game tonight, IMO. And ya’ll didn’t mention Raps at C’s. I think thats a good matchup.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 9:28 am
Keith: You can’t use that drinking stereotype anymore since izzo said he has swore off drinking.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 9:30 am
Damn it..I meant that if I’m not drinking tea with my little finger raised up in the air, whilst wearing a bowler hat…

  • The Cool Posted: Jan.23 at 9:42 am
wow. it feels good to be able to post on the post up right before I start another dreadful day of school. Holly, this really makes my day run smoothly so thanks for the early post up today. play wit it.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:20 am
    Run! It’s the Americans!

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:20 am
haha if I continue this trend of not being able to sleep until the sun comes up, then look for more earliness. The only fear I have is that I will completely mess up on edits or typo’s one of these nights because my eyes are getting heavy.. but for now it has worked out alright. :)

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:21 am
    I’m Afraid Of Americans

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:21 am
    P.S. Break up the Kings.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:22 am
And trade them to the Bulls?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:22 am
P.P.S. Break up the Nets, too. Please.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:23 am
I don’t really want anyone from the Kings unless they’re willing to give up Kevin Martin (haha). I suppose I’d take Brad Miller, though.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:25 am
Can we just send the bottom half of the Eastern Conference to the ABA?

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 10:26 am
Can we please send the Knicks to Guantanamo?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:27 am
    Isn’t that the Garden?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:27 am
Can we send the Heat to the Sea of Tranquility?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:27 am
I’ve always been a fan of relegation. Or now that NBA China is starting, maybe we can send them there? I like the sound of the Guandong Knicks.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:28 am
Underachieving NBA teams which should be disbanded: Nets, Bulls, Knicks, Kings, Miami. Five team trade anyone? Leave the coaches at the current teams. It could be like musical chairs.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:28 am
    Bottom half, geographically speaking?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:28 am
Ugh, that was horrible, Russ.. really awful. And to answer Hursty above, yes I was talking about the 5-disc ultimate Jordan, which has all of his stuff, Come Fly with Me, Above and Beyond, Airtime, His Airness, MJ’s playground. It was MUCH more enjoyable than that Kings/Nets debacle. Hisham, that is rough about the internet news.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 10:30 am
Holly:Come Fly with Me is an odd one to say the least.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:32 am
Can those 5 teams just rotate coaches? That would be way more interesting.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:32 am
and, in case you couldn’t tell from the post up itself, I was very happy to see the Lakers prove Carmelo wrong in the Lakers game. Not saying I’m glad he went down (and it would have been a much tougher match up with him in the game, obv), but that’s what he gets for staying out late hosting a party when he’s facing KB the next day. Also happy it was the rest of the Lakers to beat them, since Melo was running his mouth about the Lakers being crap besides Kobe (which may or may NOT be true, but, still don’t say it the day before you face them).

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:33 am
There needs to be a Team of Misfit Max Contracts, kind of like the Island of Misfit Toys. Take all the big-money guys off the terrible teams (or the teams where they’re not accomplishing anything) and form one Godforsaken franchise with a HUGE cap number: Steph, Vince, Michael Redd, JO, T-Mac, Shaq, Ben Wallace, Antoine Walker, Pau Gasol.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:33 am
No, that would mean another set of fans having to deal with Isiah. Maybe we could just rotate him out of the league altogether.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:34 am
I haven’t been shut down yet *I almost used a smileyface but then decided not to*

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:35 am
Holly, were you even alive when Come Fly With Me came out? For that matter, Izzo, you and the magic age reduction that occurs in Ireland, were you alive. I though that came out in 87.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:36 am
Ahh Izzo, I loved it. LOVED it. hahaha Guandong Knicks….hhaahah And I’d like Brad Miller too. See Dunleavy stand up to Sterling?

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:36 am
Michael Redd? At least he’s getting some numbers up on the board. Still, for his kinda money, I’d expect more than just the PPG column being filled up.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:37 am
I always liked the spotted pink and white elephant from the Island Of Misfit Toys, so that could either be Shaq or Toine.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 10:38 am
Age reduction?Anyway I only saw it recently and its retrospectively hilarious.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:38 am
I was too young when it FIRST came out, but, once I started loving Jordan (and who didn’t), it quickly became a weekly favorite.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:38 am
Come Fly With Me was ’89–and I think they re-released it with bonus footage in ’90.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:38 am
I’ll bet Phil Jackson would like to coach that group, Russ. But then his head would explode. Not even he could make something out of that group

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:39 am
I don’t have anything against Michael Redd per se, but as the max money guy on a team that (on paper) is pretty talented, you can’t be last in your division. Especially when that division includes the f*cking Bulls.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:40 am
one of my friends lent me the video and he never got it back. hahaa I still love MJ’s voice and it is one of the most recognizable sounds out there. Listening to his interviews could put me to sleep…hmm. maybe that is what I should be listening to in the background rather than my current sleeping playlist!

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:40 am
    Yes, age reduction, Invisible Man.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:40 am
No Hisham, that group would have to be coached by a psychopathic disciplinarian like Scott Skiles, or better yet, Bobby Knight.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:41 am
I still blame Bogut for the Bucks problems. He’s way too soft. In a division which possess only a handful of decent centres, he should be man handling them.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:42 am
I didn’t find out about basketball until about ’96.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 10:43 am
The Bucks are just soft underachievers across the board. I half-expect Senator Kohl to subpoena them all and make them explain themselves in front of Congress.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 10:44 am
I liked the part where his mother dunked on him.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:44 am
Bogut has been playing well lately and it surprises me every game, but, there isn’t enough consistency yet and you never know what you are going to get from him. Nash made the Bucks pay for focusing all of their attention on Amare (not that they really “stopped” him).

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:44 am
Hisham, your last comment is fantastic.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:46 am
what is with all of the guys sitting with sprained fingers? Mo was out last night with a sprained pinkie. Are sprains getting worse or am I missing something here?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:46 am
Playground was without a doubt the cheesiest.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:48 am
It’s cold in Milwaukee. Makes sprains worse.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:48 am
Maybe the Bucks will be demoted to the Chinese NBA league. That way Eazy Yi gets what he wants.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:50 am
and just throwing it out there: If a regular of the post up just contacted me via facebook, please let me know through a message or you are not getting added. If not, then that is just creepy.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:50 am
Is “playground” the one where he talks to the young kid?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:50 am
Send the Bucks to Australia so Yi can hate it more and Bogut can talk sh*t about bling with his homies.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 10:50 am
    TELL.ME.MORE.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:51 am
    Haha they’re stalking Holly

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:51 am
    Slamonline stalkers!

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:51 am
    Stop it, you guys

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 10:52 am
Holly has gotten to Shia levels.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 10:54 am
Playground was the one with the kid. Holly, you have crossed over into the public domain. You are officially a star.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 10:54 am
Does that relate to my stalker tendancies Holly? My bad.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 10:58 am
haha i still have that one on tape. would like to find out about a way to convert VHS to DVD

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 10:59 am
nah, i don’t think it is anyone from here, because everyone from the Post Up sent a message saying who they were, which was totally cool. But, this is just a random middle-aged guy….and if he is reading this, cool, let me know who you are.. but, upon looking through his friends and seeing 80% of the profile pictures as scantily clad girls, I’m holding off until I add him. How he’d find my profile if it wasn’t from here though, that is the question!!

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 11:00 am
Hish you need a dvd/VHS player/recorder. It’s an all in one thing. I’m looking to get one myself, just so I can convert my old game tapes.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:01 am
    ew

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 11:01 am
Sorry Holly. That was my dad. We’re no longer on speaking terms.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 11:01 am
He doesn’t go by Zeke11, does he, Holly?

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:03 am
Okay i’ll just send you my game tapes then haha

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:03 am
I feel you Hisham.. I’ve got my old school VCR which I will never give up because of the boxes of games and interviews I have taped, now there are the DVDs and I don’t know how I will keep up as technology continues to change! I remember when the tape died midway through the first quarter while I was taping a Lakers/Seattle game awhile back. Of course, it was the game Kobe went off for the 12 three’s. Man I was steamed after that. Since then, I always make sure I have a full tape going, just in case something big happens.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:05 am
hahaha you guys are hilarious.. and no, Eboy, going from the Photo, not Zeke. hahaha

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:06 am

    “WhereRAllTheWhiteWomenAt69″?

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:10 am
They taped over my sacred 2001 Finals game 1.. You see, i don’t care much for the Lakers, especially during their championship years. In that game, Iverson was god. God got taped over.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:10 am
    ?

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:11 am
NCAA = confused version of WNBA

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:12 am
best tape ever = Micheal Jordan Come Fly With Me

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:16 am
    Bring back Casette tapes

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:18 am
In the US, VHS was never the norm, right? Didn’t you guys use Betamax?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 11:18 am
VHS was King, Beta was for losers….so to speak.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:19 am
ohh Hisham.. that is one I probably regretted taping at the time, but the play of Iverson and a young Raja stealing away the Lakers path to a perfect postseason is one I’m glad I have now, even as a Laker fan. I still want to Bulls Dynasty series though. I bought it for a friend for Christmas a few years back and now selfishly, I wish I had just bought it for myself instead because I know I would have appreciated it more. hahaa

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 11:19 am
Get it right White Hot..vhs IS king. At least over here.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:19 am
no, that must be some european myth or something. We still own more VHS than DVD and we still have the same VHS player we did 10 years ago.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:20 am
Never heard of Betamax, Hisham. BET, I’m with you on Come Fly With Me.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:20 am
    BET what’s wrong with NCAA?

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:21 am
Eric Snow of all people scored the gamewinning shot in that one, can you believe that? Those dynasty series are probably still available on ebay.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:23 am
haha, guess i’m wrong about the VHS thing. I always thought americans watched a different kind of videotape. VHS IS king

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:23 am
Jared, everything. If you investgate 97 year olds, dont give the ATHLETES a cut in the money they earn on Jersey sales and shoes, dont even let the athlete’s name appear in a video game, the list goes on but i dont have the time to write it

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:24 am
well considering they dont make new VHS i gues the King’s kingdom has fallen

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:25 am
yeah, I think the are Hisham.. just annoys me that I gave one of the greatest gifts of all and the recipient probably won’t ever recognize that I gave the gift of Jordan at his best! hahaha Take the time to watch that sh*t and appreciate the talent, greatness and charisma of MJ and the Bulls! Sure, it’s baskeball, but, it is history. My Lakers set IS one of my favorite things ever.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 11:25 am
You guys are all over the place today. BET: everyone hates the politics on the NCAA, but the game itself is still pure. Well, somewhat.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:25 am
BET the NBA is a beacon of moral and logical decisions yes?

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:26 am
It will live on in our hearts

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:27 am
isnt old game tapes what ESPN Classics / NBA TV Hardwood Classics and a VHS recorder are made for. Or if you are a technolgy freak Tivo or DVR it.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:27 am
BET, did you read the Mayo part I mentioned above? I thought it was stupid and if they are getting free tickets to games who cares? At least they’d appreciate it.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:29 am
no, i personally think that at least the players get slightly more freedom. When i play NBA Live i know that it was Shaq with the dunk not #32. The NCAA is run by fat cats the NBA is run by Huskty cats who need to loose weight desprteatly.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:29 am
I’ve never really been able to like the Lakers. But i guess that’s because they were so dominant and everybody liked them. When everybody liked something, I always wanted to disagree and like something else. and that kind of stuck with me. So i’m not really a fan of any NBA team, but i do have a dislike for the lakers somehow. As i said earlier, i didn’t find out about basketball or the nba until about 96, so i was unable to develop the same anti-emotions towards the bulls

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:30 am
Hisham have you ever read The Jordan Rules? If you dont like Chicago that book is for you. If you apperciate MJ you will want to kill Sam Smith.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 11:30 am
    BETS is comical.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:31 am
End of my workday, and the internet access still lives. WOOHOO! i still don’t expect to be back tomorrow. have fun you guys

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:31 am
keith why thank you for noticing ‘takes bow’

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 11:32 am
Playground? Are you kids talking about Another Bad Creation?

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:32 am
    alright Hisham.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 11:32 am
Being a Pistons fan, I personally hated the Bulls and Michael growing up. Always respected and feared his game, just didn’t have any love for them. Or the Lakers for that matter. Let the persecution begin.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:33 am
Thanks for the tip Eboy. I like MJ, and appreciate him as probably the greatest ever. I’m not a real fan though. Haven’t experienced his career “live”. I’ll read the book.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:33 am
Tad you had Bill Lambeir, i never seen him play live, but i saw the repeats of games. And now seeing he is a WNBA coach and Zeke is well something close to a WNBA coach, i can safely say you had some headcases on your team

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:34 am
and Zeke = the real DJ Drama

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 11:35 am
Well, Rodman was still “normal” when he was with us.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:35 am
How about the NBA banning players from dressing the way the want to.Freedom? How about the NBA milking and making money from the very image they’re banning their players from wearing)the hip hop one that is)

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 11:35 am
I can agree with you on that entire post Hish. I didn’t get into it until about ’95-’96 either and at the time, I was against the Bulls. But the thing that turned it around for me was in the ’98 finals when Malone was regular season MVP and everybody was saying that this was Utah’s year. The broadcast showed a flashabck of the previous year where Jordan was hit hard by the flu and still pulled out one of the greatest performances of our time. At that moment, I knew that MJ wouldn’t allow his Bulls to be beat and I gained a huge amount of respect and liking for them.

  • Hisham Posted: Jan.23 at 11:35 am
    Goodbye

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:35 am
    point taken

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:36 am
    bye hish

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:38 am
With you on that Izzo. I wrote something about this awhile back, when they first started the whole dress code and I pulled it out again after the Matt Barnes incident this weekend.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:38 am
later, hisham! Hope to see you tomorrow.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:39 am
These kids are going to college for free and exploiting themselves by representing their schools. I think it’s wack that the ncaa and schools make tons of money off of them, but it’s not like their slaves to a system, everyone reapes rewards out of it.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:41 am
Izzo i said slightly more freedom, i didnt mean 13th ammendmant freedom. The NBA Dress Code is riduculos in everyway possible, and the NBA makes most of its money off xxl and up sized gear even if most fans are about 5’6 and 120 lbs. The Commish (not our commish) answers to red state fans who hate blacketball as they call it, and he was using bush’s campagian advisor. Enough said, i still think the NBA is the lesser of the 2 evils

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:42 am
even if W was involed in a indirrect way.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:43 am
And being a full scholarship player has its rewards. But thats not to say that the NCAA is perfect either what with its bullsh*t protocol and what not.And on the video game example BET,the players names aren’t on it because these things can only be approved by a union, since they are not proffesionals, they do not have a union.Well that’s my understanding of it anyway.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:43 am
I don’t think either are evil. I enjoy them both.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 11:44 am
    We played Nintendo
This was her very first date
I didn’t wanna make it seem to fly
    We ate cereal
She couldn’t stay out at late
Her mother told her to be home at nine

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:44 am
I’m failing to see your point in a big way here.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:45 am
i still think the players should get a small cut of the money. When reggie bush was at USC everybody in the world rocked a red and gold #5 jersey at one point, millions upon billions were sold and the NCAA keeps all the loot?

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:47 am
is that to say that if a smart scientist kid got a full scholarship and while in college won the National Super Smart kid award and had his own lab smock, the NCAA will takes money made on it? i dont think so, the NCAA loves to exploit its athletes and i dont like that.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:47 am
If NCAA players were paid,it would be called the D-League.It defeats the purpose.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:48 am
not for playing, for the money they make thru clothes, shoes, and maybe even a small cut of the ticket sales (fans arent comming to games to see Alabama football, they come to see Derrick McFadden)

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:48 am
As does the NBA,scholarship athletes have all there needs and luxuries met.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:50 am
izzo since you have more knowledge of the NCAA would it make you happy if i fold now and say HOORAY NCAA BEST LEAGUE EVER!!!!

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.23 at 11:50 am
well i got to go anyways. Peace

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:50 am
The players are still being paid,if players were being paid, there would be no NCAA,it would become obsolete.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 11:51 am
The way the NCAA exploits these kids is downright illegal. If they were child actors, there would be a huge lawsuit. You bring in millions of dollars, you get paid for it. This is the only business that runs on this kind of model, save sweatshops I guess. Scholarships are nice, but most kids are majoring in Phys Ed, not because they’re stupid, but the sport is their major. It makes sense, it’s the job they want when they graduate. When they go down with a knee and don’t get drafted… well I guess that’s where we get all of our disgruntled gym teachers.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:52 am
Derrick McFadden on Alabama? Is he related to Arkansas’ Darren McFadden?

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:52 am
No,it really wouldn’t.The NCAA and the NBA as organizations are evil.Your failing to see the difference between NCAA the organization and NCAA-the sports side.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 11:54 am
d.y:A very small percentage of NCAA players are good enough to even consider entering the draft.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:54 am
I don’t think the players have a problem with being exploited though…is Kevin Durant a possible number 1 pick without his games being on ESPN? You think they’d rather not be playing on TV or seeing people walk around wearing their jerseys just cause they’re not making profit off of it? The players who are being exploited to the max will see their cut, and are getting free publicity and an education. I don’t know, as someone who’s struggling to pay back student loans, I wouldn’t mind not making money but coasting through a school of my choice with any major to play a sport.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 11:56 am
I mean obviously they have a problem, who wouldn’t have a problem with not getting paid when you know people are making money off of you, I just don’t think it’s that unfair of a trade off…

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 11:59 am
I feel you Izzo, but those kids who won’t get drafted are still working those long hours, and making money for the school. And Jared, LeBron James’ High School games were on ESPN. Durant would’ve been fine.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:03 pm
Scholarships are not cheap. These kids get full rides, so they are not exactly playing for free. But again, this does not explain some of the dumb rules the NCAA has put into place for student athletes. I do think that there is more that can be done financially for student athletes, but where do you draw the line?

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 12:07 pm
KD wasn’t Bron though, and in the age-limit era, these kids need NCAA exploitation more than ever. I don’t know, i’m not living it so obviously I can’t really call it, but I don’t think it’s that bad of a life. I know they put in a lot of practice and traveling, but like I’m saying, that free ride, plus if you’re that good all the publicity you’re getting…not too shabby.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:16 pm
besides the perk of having a free education, spending a Sunday night chilling at Melo’s party is one of those luxuries that only student athletes get. Not saying it is payment enough for all that schools make off of the guys but, I think most student athletes are more than taken care of while they are in school. A lot of the rules and stipulations that are placed on the players are downright ridic, I think it is foolish that Mayo could be in trouble for accepting free tickets from Melo! But, overall I don’t see how else they could give the players a “cut” of the money. Like Tad said, where would they draw the line?

  • its just alex Posted: Jan.23 at 12:18 pm
I think OJ is just getting heat because he’s OJ Mayo. People like trying to perpetuate the image that he’s a bad kid, or that he thinks he’s above the rules in some way. The NCAA needs to stop focusing so much on petty investigations into small gifts and more like academic standards at say…Florida State.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:20 pm
I agree with you, Alex. I hate that everyone wants to see the kid fail.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 12:20 pm
Excuse my ignorance but I don’t understand why NCAA players can’t take free tickets off of a player? What better person to go see a game then the very guy who will be there next year? Would it matter if the team donated them to the guy instead of an individual?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:20 pm
This convo is hurting my head. So Holly, what do you think of the games tonight? Lakers/Spurs should be good. I personally like Blazers/Hornets.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:23 pm
NCAA bylaw 16.11.2.2.3 states that student-athletes may not receive “free or reduced-cost admission to professional athletics contests from professional sports organizations, unless such services also are available to the student body in general.” Still, I think it is stupid, because if that student body were friends with NBA players then they could be getting free tickets too. If they happen to build those relationships because of the sport that they play and something they have in common with pro athletes, well that is just the way it works.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 12:23 pm
What line? It’s business. The point is that Schools are banking off these kids’ labor, to a huge degree. If a ton of money is made, the kids should get a ton of money. And the age limit thing, that was done partially to save NCAA revenues from the onslaught of kids getting jobs (NBA) instead of allowing the schools to milk them.

  • its just alex Posted: Jan.23 at 12:24 pm
Keith, I think the NCAA is just mad that they can’t add on some sort of student athlete gift tax to make money off of NBA players too.

  • Keith Posted: Jan.23 at 12:24 pm
    *simply shakes head in disbelief*

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:26 pm
Lakers/Spurs, Blazers/Hornets, Raps/Celtics, Washington/Cleveland, Dallas/Charlotte, even Atlanta/Denver. I’m really excited for tonight. Although, I feel sick before every Bynum-less Lakers game because I never know what I am going to get.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:28 pm
Yeah, Timmy Duncan is going to have a HUGE night. I expect Kwame to have 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes tonight.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:29 pm
I don’t know who I’m rooting for in the Blazers/Hornets game, I just hope it goes down to the wire. Caron has got me watching the Wizards like it is my job (which it kind of is, or at least I like to think of it that way!!), and I would LOVE to see the Raps pull something off against the Raptors after they’ve gotten it handed to them in their previous meetings this year.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 12:30 pm
dY these kids do profit though…You seen Blue Chips? I’ve been around a lot of college athletes, and while things have cleaned up a lot…that movie was pretty accurate to what these kids ask for, and a lot of them get. I’ve spoken with a former coach of a huge school, and he said one of the main reasons he got out was the things his kids were asking for, he just felt too much anxiety because of how much recruits ask for to attend their school…and while that’s not the NCAA’s doing, kids are benefitting, they’re not slaves. I agree that a lot of money is being made that the kids aren’t seeing a penny of, and in the sense of business, that’s completely illogical and illegal, but there are lots of perks for student athletes. The NBA age limit will definitely set us into a different direction as far as debating, but I think it’s better for entertainment purposes for myself that I get to see these kids play in college, and hopefully enhance their games, before jumping to the L…and I wouldn’t be offended if I was called naive in regards to that statement.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:30 pm
But, Tad, we have Mbenga!! ahahahah

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:31 pm
You want to se the Raps pull off something against the Raptors??? That would be pretty amazing.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:32 pm
And, I’m hoping to see Critt continue to be in the mix. He’s one player I’m going to love watching as he gets more time.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:32 pm
And my last comment to the NCAA discussion is: FAB FIVE! WHAT!

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:34 pm
    oops. ahahaha. Celts. hahahaha

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:35 pm
I thought Farmar was the main backup PG? Isn’t that Critt’s position too?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:37 pm
Mbenga will definitely get some early minutes tonight. Timmy gonna foul out somebody.

  • its just alex Posted: Jan.23 at 12:41 pm
What’s the line on Kwame turnovers?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:45 pm
yeah, Farmar is Fish’s backup, and Critt is a pg, but hes a long pg at almost 6’5″. With Ariza out the Lakers will play some minutes with Fish and Critt on as the guards and Kobe as the three, when Walton is on the bench (personally, I would run with this lineup more than just when we are in foul trouble, etc because I love the energy Critt brings). The kid has a way of getting fouled everytime he gets to the basket. Farmar has been fantastic and it’s gotta be a dream world for him, living in LA, going to UCLA and now shining on the Lakers. And, has anyone else noticed how OFTEN, Vujacic gets fouled on three-point attempts? It is wild, almost every game it seems.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:50 pm
oops, I meant fisher, farmar and kobe, but they can also insert Critt in for either one of them. When Farmar was on with Fish, Fish played the two.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:52 pm
I must admit, I hardly ever catch Laker games because I’m on the East coast, so I don’t see all these things you talk about. I’m anxiously awaiting another post from Rodney Stuckey now that he is back from his hand injury. He’s been Chauncey’s main backup and he is getting more acclimated every game. I think this kid is going to be very good.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:54 pm
Stuckey will be good. He seems like he has a good head on his shoulders as well. I loved that he approached Ben at the game to see if he needed to ask him anything! ahah the guy already has a blog on the site and he still wants to see if SLAM needs anything from him, nice.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 12:54 pm
yeah, East Coast sucks.. Atlantic time zone sucks a little more. hahaha

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:56 pm
Have you ever been any further East than Toronto?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 12:58 pm
And yeah, Stuckey was even in the Detroit papers talking about the Noah situation. He mentioned that he would never talk back to any coaches or veterans. He said rookies should know their place and he was brought up to respect elders. Good kid.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:02 pm
Tad!! I’m from Nova Scotia! hahaha. I’ve been staying up until 3am to catch games and inside the nba since the days of a 10pm bedtime, haha! My mother would find me asleep on the living room floor when she’d wake up in the morning…Then, after I’d be UNABLE to wake up for school she finally put her foot down about my staying up so I’d go to my grandmothers every time there was an 11:30 game on throughout the week and we would eat skor bars, popcorn and watch the game. She would always fall asleep by the end of it, but, I’d get to watch my games!

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:06 pm
Ok, I guess I need to google a map of Canada. I thought you was out in Western Canada somewhere since you have all this love for the Lakers and Suns.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:09 pm
I moved to Van in August, so you probably just assumed I grew up on the WC. Love the Lakers AND basketball because of Magic, I’ve loved Kobe since before he was in the L (and it was a happy day when I found out he was going to be a Laker), and the Suns? I’m a Nash girl, I loved Amare since he got in the league, I had a vested interest in Leandro because a friend had scouted him for a few years before he was drafted, loved Raja since the Philly days as mentioned above, so it just worked out really well. Not to mention they are such a fun team to watch and after getting to see them behind the scenes and find out they are all such cool guys, my love for them has grown.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:11 pm
Catching the end of “Inside” on the East Coast sucks.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:15 pm
Oh ok, gotcha now Holly. My Canada experience is Toronto and Windsor, that’s it. And Russ, who are you telling? After West Coast games, “Inside” wouldn’t go off till 2 am. Sleep deprivation at its finest.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:16 pm
Holly, Shawn Marion is very upset you didn’t mention him in your previous post, and now he won’t come out of his room.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:27 pm
    Test.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:31 pm
hahahahaha Marion kills me. My first experience with him was a little shaky because the reporter before me pissed him off, but, after we got talking he was pretty cool with me. Nothing tops Amare and Raja though. What I would give to do a feature with either of them. It would be a blast, I can say that for sure. And Tad, Atlantic time is an hour ahead of Eastern, so the 2am finish is 3am. haha. I’m sure some of the morning crew have it worse than us though. Little to no coverage and games coming on in the early morning hours.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:31 pm
I’ve explained before but I decide who to root for depending on how many individual players I like on each team , unless it’s the Knicks.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:32 pm
I root for the league as a whole.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:33 pm
    pretty much, hahah

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:33 pm
Yeah same here Holly , except for the Pistons and Spurs.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:34 pm
I just saw a map of Nova Scotia Holly. I apologize for my ignorance. I must have missed that day of Geography class. Ignorance is bliss!

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:35 pm
Shia, your hate for the Pistons know’s no boundaries.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:36 pm
I don’t care what anyone says about the Spurs, I always love watching Duncan play. I love watching Rip too just for the amount of energy he has each night running all around the court. He is tireless. It was fun watching him and Reggie play against each other, too. Although Reggie is the player I love to hate. Just like SLAM. haha

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:37 pm
ahaha it is small and beautiful… in the summer at least. haha winters are gross and long.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:37 pm
I like Duncan and Horry but I hate pretty much everyone else. I like Sheed and that’s it.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:38 pm
So that picture of the sunset you have, is that from N.S. or where you’re at now?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:39 pm
    I HATE Horry.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:39 pm
and it’s current claim to fame is Ellen Page the actress from Juno. You know it is a small province when you have the one “big” actress and it is big news! My mom said they had her high school teachers on the 6om news showing off plates and other art she had made in art class in high school last night. hahahah

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:41 pm
on the myspace? all of those scenery pictures are from NS. my favorite is the one titled “view from the gym” That is what we would see every night after basketball camps, walking outside from the court. My university campus was GORGEOUS in the summer. Especially the summer nights. ahh I miss it. I’ll definitely put some more pictures up when I can find them. Everything is on flash drives since I switched computers and I haven’t gone through much of it yet. I HATE sorting and renaming files.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:42 pm
And I haven’t even seen Juno yet. I’ve been told is was good and also told it wasn’t that good. Sounds like a bootleg movie to me.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:44 pm
Yeah on Myspace. That sunset was absolutely beautiful. And sorting and renaming files is akin to a bad dentist visit.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:45 pm
    TAAD, you see Cloverfield yet?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:46 pm
It was alright, not a movie I’d want to pay to go see again. I’d recommend waiting and watching it at home. The more I see it hyped on tv the more I thinl, “yeah, this was a cute movie”, but, I thought of it as cute, not amazzzzzing. It takes a lot to impress me movie wise though. I’m not big into tv or movies and I watch very, very few movies each year.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:46 pm
    hello Eboy.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:46 pm
    Hi Shia.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:47 pm
    I heard Cloverfield was terrible.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:47 pm
Shia, when I finally meet you in person and call you Shia, will you be angered or amused?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:48 pm
    You heard wrong.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:49 pm
    Haven’t yet Eboy.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:49 pm
ahh if you think that one was good.. just you wait. I’ve got some great shots. I’ve just started to really get into photography too, and I love doing scenery stuff. boring for a lot of people, but I love it. I like the view from the gym one a lot more than the other sunset, but I guess that’s because of the significance for me. I think that shot is actually being used by the university’s advertising people now. I gave it to them before I graduated because one of the guys at the top saw it because I had given it to my boss at the gym before I left. He loved it and asked if they could use it. Now that it’s been mentioned, I am curious to see what they are going to do with it, ahaaha. I’ve got to check that out.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:49 pm
I still have a lot of residual hate for the Pistons from the Bad Boys days, but Tayshaun’s block on Reggie Miller is one of my favorite plays ever. Then there’s Rasheed, and I really like Rip, too. Not a big Billups fan, though.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:50 pm
Amused. Holly what is the meaning behind your ring? And when are you going to put a backround on your page?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 1:50 pm
how do you even pronounce “Shia”

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:50 pm
    Burn, Hollywood, burn.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:51 pm
    “Shia” is pronounced “f*cker.”

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 1:52 pm
SHY AH.I don’t even know why I hate the pistons I just hate them.I hate Billups and I actually used to like him but I don’t know. I Just know I literally can’t watch them without getting aggravated.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:53 pm
I understand your hate Russ. I have the same residual hate for the Bulls. But I do like Deng some, even though he is from Duke.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:54 pm
To continue the Pistons love/hate thing, I like Tayshaun, Rip’s nice but cries too much, Horse Face Chauncey is WAYYYYY overrated, Sheed is Sheed, love always, Maxiell is my dude though. I like that viscious bastard.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 1:55 pm
I don’t really hate Duke players. In fact, I like most of the guys who are currently in the NBA. I just hate Coach K and the Duke program.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:55 pm
Maxiell just HAS to get Slamadamonth sometime in the near future. Russ, make it happen.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 1:56 pm
Guess that makes sense since I have love for Grant and Elton.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 1:58 pm
I think most of the Duke hate for people in my era started and developed because of Bobby Hurley and Christian “so good I’ve got to hate you”Laetner, (remember the NBA Superstars tape that lyric came from?)

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:02 pm
I’ve always hated Duke just like I’ve always hated the Cowboys, the Yankees, and the Bulls when Mike was there. I despised teams that had all of these “bandwagon” jumper fans.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:02 pm
    I liked Laetner.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:04 pm
So you must hate the current Pistons squad, TAD. Self-hate is so 1998.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:04 pm
Shia, why is that not surprising. And TAD, you must really hate the current Celtics squad, too.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:06 pm
He was an arrogant pr*ck. Just like I am.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:06 pm
The Pistons have “bandwagon” fans? Really?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:07 pm
I love KG, but yes, I dislike the C’s. Not hate.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 2:09 pm
The Laettner/Hurley teams were the f*cking worst. I hated Cherokee Parks, too. Until he came to the NBA, starred in one of the best Fun Police commercials, and turned into a cross between Jeff Spicoli and Nikki Sixx.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:11 pm
OOOOOHH, I HATED CHEROKEE TOO!!!! Grant was the saving grace on that squad. And when they beat UNLV, I kicked my fuc*ing tv in my bedroom.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:17 pm
my ringg…. only the biggest day in my LIFE. ahah wayy bigger and better than graduation by far. I’ve wanted to go to X since I was a little girl and used to go to their games with my best friend and his father. I loved the ball program, loved the coach, loved the players. I was 10 when they won their first national championship and that was it for me. Yes, I chose my university based on it’s basketbal program. But, it is also a great school and has been the number 1 undergrad school in Canada for the past 6 years, so cut me some slack! The ring is something you get in your fourth year and it is a HUGEE deal. you sign a “contract” your first night at X saying you will finish and get the ring, and become a part of the Xaverian family. On december 3rd of every year it is the feast of St Francis Xavier and all over the world they have gatherings of X Alumni to celebrate the newest ring recipients. There is this HUGEEE ceremony, the BIGGESTT party afterwards and it is just the most amazing weekend you could ask for. The ring itself is apparently the third most recognizable ring besides the superbowl ring and the pope’s ring and was a question on jeopardy. ahahha Of course it is probably a myth, but we believe it and love it. All schools say the are a family, but it really is true with X. I’ve met people in Toronto and van with the rings and when you see that ring, it is instant friendship. I’ve got friends who have experienced the same in Korea, London, Africa! It is amazing. MY X-Ring ceremony was perfect. Our athletic director gave the speech and he started bawling his eyes out saying how he has his wedding ring on his left had to symbolize the family he chose and his X ring on his right hand to symbolize his Xaverian family which grows each and every year. haha sounds intense and it is!! He was soo hyped to be given the honor of being voted as our speaker. It’s like a cult, but the best one you could ever imagine! ahahaha

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:18 pm
damn, they need to hire me for their recruiting office! ahaha sorry for the ramblings, but, I love that school.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:18 pm
    Damn, Holly, that was deep.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:19 pm
and, it is so much cooler than all of that sounds. I made it sound corny and cliche and like we are all brainwashed. ahaha Now I feel like I did a disservice to my home. ahahahah.. Sorry for the “over-the-top-ness” of that post.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 2:19 pm
I lost a lot of my Duke hatred after their run of “cursed” NBA players. Hard to hate Laettner when he’s averaging 8 and 6, or Hurley when his career ended before it began. Still hated Grant. I know he got hurt for a long time, but hey, he got Tamia. I always imagined her coming into the bedroom with a sledgehammer (ala Misery) the day before training camp every year.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:20 pm
    That’s cool Holly.Thanks for explaining.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:21 pm
Wow, Holly is in a cult. Who knew?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 2:21 pm
F*ck that noise, I still hate Christian Laettner NOW.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:23 pm
    I’m with you Russ.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:25 pm
    Haters.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:27 pm
    Pot Calling the Kettle Black.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:30 pm
The X group is like the Canadian version of Scientology. And fu*k Christian Laetner, still.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 2:30 pm
Christian Laettner was the real-life embodiment of every ’80s high-school movie bad guy. He was a sense of entitlement in human form with a silver spoon in his mouth, a stick up his @ss and a terrible haircut.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:31 pm
Is it really because he is so arrogant?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:32 pm
Russ is the King of ironic comparisons.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:32 pm
What kind of haircut should a white guy get that won’t be terrible? Because I’ve never heard of one with a good haircut in the pages of slam.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:32 pm
hahaah it’s a beautiful cult, Tad. One where professors still email weekly and I’ve got a coach who makes time for me on top of everything else even though I am done at the school and he gave more than enough of his time while I was there. Enough blind faith in me that when I would bring up a recruit, that kid would get an email the next day. An Athletics staff who literally gave me the keys to the gym so I could go in whenever I needed anything, access to an office when I needed/wanted to get stuff done, just total trust. My former boss has become one of my closest friends and like a second mother to me. I wish everyone could have as great of a university experience as I did and I can’t say enough for the school. If anyone from Canada is reading this, well, they know where I’d be sending my recommendations!

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:32 pm
You guys would/should/probably do hate the f*ck out of me then.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:33 pm
And a throng of hot broads that wanted to bang him. Fu*ing clean cut bit*h. Actually, I kind of didn’t hate him when he was with the Hawks. And his one season in Miami wasn’t too horrible wither. Oh, whatever, fu*k him.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:35 pm
haahaha eboy, don’t mess with X. Our song to start warmups was DMX’s “X gonna give it to ya” for my first few years. ahaha. “Shia is pronounced “f*cker” Russ with the comedy, again.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:36 pm
ewww at the thought of anyone wanting to eff him..Ugh, I’d rather stick with the thoughts of Brian Grant prowess, thank you.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:38 pm
Holly, you got something against white guys with bad haircuts? haha

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 2:38 pm
That school owes SLAM some advertising money.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:41 pm
hahaah.. sorry for getting a little too into it. I’ve kept my X-love under wraps for most of my time here, but I was provoked by Shia to let it out..blame him!
Eboy: hahaha Scalabrine makes me angry every time I see him. ahahah

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:41 pm
actually, not angry…frustrated…or annoyed would probably be more accurate.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:42 pm
    “Brian Grant prowess”? Holly, WTF?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:42 pm
This conversation has taken a wrong turn somewhere.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:43 pm
Scalabrine is the white version of Big Baby.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 2:43 pm
That’s right Blame Shia for everything.X-love sounds dirtier than I’m sure was intended.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:44 pm
I really do love Holly. She is so down for whatever.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:44 pm
It always does Shia. BTW, does your hair look like Laettner’s now or something?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:44 pm
ask Eboy, Tad. You might not want to know. And….back to tonight…Hornets or Blazers?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:45 pm
Holly with the subtle subject change! Nice.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 2:47 pm
News Flash – Holly doesn’t like white dudes regardless of their haircuts.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:47 pm
Hornets at home, so they’ll proabably win. Although less than 10,000 fans doesn’t really consitute much nome court advantage.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:47 pm
    *home

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 2:47 pm
Why would anyone like white dudes? Ew.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:48 pm
That’s just a great game…period. And how come Bodie’s not around. He’s posting over n the D-Wade winner piece.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 2:48 pm
No I have good hair but I bet if I was in the NBA some slam writer would say I have a bad haircut because apparently its impossible to have good hair.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:49 pm
    Shia is having coping issues.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:49 pm
And there he is!!!!! Like Magic, except without the basketball skills. And that comment is uhm……interesting.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 2:49 pm
    White people are sooo 50′s

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 2:50 pm
Shia, have you seen Lang’s or Russ’s hair? No offense fellas.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:51 pm
woahhh! A bodie sighting and he’s calling me out.. I resent that comment bodie.. You shouldn’t judge a girl by her favorite nba players…hahaha And Shia, you crack me up. I’ve got good hair too, in my own opinion. We will band together against all of the slammer’s who judge based on hair!

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 2:52 pm
The only hair on a female should be on her head.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:54 pm
there he is again.. Although I appreciate the calling out of the female gender as a whole rather than just me. hahaha

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 2:56 pm
And yes, the Hornets home crowd makes me sad. Especially when they are playing so well. I would LOVE to watch their big three get better and better each game. Also cool to hear Tyson and CP3 talk about how well they play together and how they can “read the other’s mind” out there on the court.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 2:57 pm
Don’t take it personally, Holly. I’ve had yellow fever for years. White girls are dead to me.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 2:58 pm
    Nice Bodie.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 2:59 pm
What’s wrong with my hair? I cut it all off with a No. 3 once every two or three weeks. It’s not like I’m going for a look or anything. My beard, on the other hand…

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:01 pm
No. 3 is where it’s at. Finally something Russ and I can agree on, although I am sure he will soon argue the other side here in a minute.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:01 pm
Just messing with ya Russ. I was trying to make Shia feel better. Anyway Shia, your hair is fine. Them glasses though………

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:02 pm
F*ck you.I need to see.I take a 2 on the sides and scissors on top.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:03 pm
That’s probably why white man’s hair gets hated on. “Number 3 all around”. You’re not in the military boys. What the f*ck, couldn’t invest in a Flowbee?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:04 pm
Where is Ryan when we need him? His insights here would be helpful.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:04 pm
Are we really talking about haircuts right now? I know this is going to take a horrible Bodie turn and venture into pubic trimming within moment’s.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:04 pm
I’m actually number 2 all round

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:04 pm
F*ck paying for haircuts. And f*ck hair, for that matter. I wish I’d just go bald and get it over with.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:05 pm
none taken, Bodie. We’ve all got preferences. although “white girls are dead to me” might be the comment of the day. haha Russ, whenever I see DeShawn or Drew, I think of your beard kicking everyone’s ass.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:07 pm
yeah guys, the past 10 or so comments made little sense to me.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:08 pm
Holly, don’t get took by Bodie’s Asian interest. They are bred to search out and hook up with the white man, especially those with a title. White girls are the ones over his pale white ass. And we all know, black girls don’t see him, ever.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:10 pm
    357

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:10 pm
haha, Eboy, I said I didn’t take offense to it, and I really didn’t. The “white girls” comment just cracked me up.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:11 pm
Really?I take offense to almost everything Bodies says.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:11 pm
This has taken quite the wrong turn.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:11 pm
I’m only fuc*ing with Bodie, Holly. Waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:12 pm
All girls were dead to me about 2 months ago.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:12 pm
eboy – Wow. That was legitimately racist. Impressive. Now go play with your goatee and get your Gugliota barb wire tattoo touched up.
For the record, throughout my career, I have been an equal opporunity employer.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:12 pm
    izzo is sensitive.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:13 pm
Shia is apparently swinging from the other side of the plate. Why is this not surprising?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:15 pm
I own the ultimate Jordan and The Laker Dynasty series also Holly.ALso the Larry Bird all the street series (ankle breakers, dunks) top ten, pretty much any dvd I can get my hands on.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:16 pm
    How’s the mistress Bodie?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:16 pm
Don’t bring your dreams to the slam message board bodie, I know the idea that I might one day putt from your rough brings you hope everyday but it will never happen.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:18 pm
I’m pretty sure Gugliotta’s tattoo was actually thorns.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:20 pm
    Arm band tattoos ….

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 3:20 pm
    oh man, this is entertaining

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:20 pm
Man, I scare myself sometimes. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-62605117.html

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:21 pm
Bodie, don’t be jealous. You can’t grow facial hair, couldn’t take the pain incvolved with a tattoo and have a terribly balding hair cut that can’t be salvaged. I’d be sour too.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:23 pm
eboy – I’ve been growing facial hair since you were lip-syncing Living on a Prayer in the mirror in your parents basement.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:24 pm
I’m watching front row with you Jared.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:24 pm
Bodie, to remind you for about the third time, I have no barbed wire tattos, I imagine you are just imagining me standing over you, ballbag swaying side to side, given you a racoon mask with my b*lls dunked in chocolate pudding, pressed against your eyes, tattoo’s glisetning in the moonlight. Sorry, Holly.

  • Jared Posted: Jan.23 at 3:25 pm
    hahahaha

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:26 pm
And since I’ve got years on you, Bodie, I think your comment about the lipsynching applies more to you in your Hypercolor shirt and power mullet.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:26 pm
    That was graphic.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:27 pm
    Eboy:That should have read:”sorry everyone”

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:28 pm
Agreed Izzo.Holly we need you to bring the conversation back to basketball.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:28 pm
    Sorry everyone but Bodie.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:29 pm
We wouldn’t be approaching 400 comments without Bodie’s presence this afternoon.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:30 pm
I imagine the pause between Bodie posts means he’s gearing up for a retort.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:30 pm
    My comments aren’t posting.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:31 pm
Racoon mask? Are these the bizarre things you think about when married?
BTW – You’ve got years on everyone in here. I thought I was immature…

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:31 pm
    F*ck this f*cking bullsh*t site.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:31 pm
Why is it the post stating that your posts aren’t showing up are always the ones that show up?I hate that.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
I don’t want 400 comments if this is what it has boiled down to. Good god.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
Poor Russ. That’s it, Bodie? Let down, for sure.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
Had to get some work done, eboy. This does remind me of the good old days though. Unforunately, we appear to have sent Holly running for the hills, or at least into the arms of a black man.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
I was having issues posting earlier too.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
    hahaha@ Russ.

  • smash her socks Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm
anyone think the Nets or Bulls will turn it around?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:32 pm

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:33 pm
Yeah, let’s talk about the shi*iness of the NCAA for another 100 comments? Please.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:33 pm
I’m trying to talk about f*cking basketball, too. Well, sort of.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:34 pm
Now that last bit was funny Bodie

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:34 pm
Bodie, your last comment made me literally crash into my desk from laughing so hard.

  • smash her socks Posted: Jan.23 at 3:34 pm
if the cavs get Mike Bibby they will be on par with Boston and Detroit. If the Hawks get a good pg they will win 50 games, if they get Mike Bibby they will win 50 games. Hawks are 13-6 when Anthony Johnson plays 26 or more minutes at pg for them. That is basically the Trent Dilfer with the Ravens method…….. Mike Bibby is an absolute stud.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:34 pm
Can I not use the word “G**gle”? WHAT THE F*CK.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:35 pm
bodie…seriously man, what is with that?! glad to have you back, but gosh! Russ, I’m checking the moderation queue right now.. my comments just disappeared yesterday for some reason too.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:35 pm
6 real good teams in the east, 10 real good teams in the west……… dammit why cant those 16 teams make up the playoffs instead of the standard 8 from each c$onference…….. damnit! well, if Chicago and NJ could turn it around maybe we could be okay…. Im wondering about Toronto if theyre gonna step up and beat Boston. Orlando, Cleveland, Washington and Detroit have all defeated the Cetlics, but the Raptors havent in 3 tries (Although they only had full health in 1 of the meetings, the first one in which they lost by 3 on a Ray Allen gamewinner/buzzerbeater in overtime)…… looking forward to that game tonight Toronto/Boston. Also a WHALE of a matchup between Cleveland and Washington. Washington is 22-12 since the 0-5 start, and Lebron is 22-12 with Lebron in the lineup and 0-6 without him…… Washington has won 8 of 10 and Cleveland has won 9 of 10….. monster matchup between Cleveland/Washington tonight! Very good matchup New Orleans/Portland too, Hawks/Nuggets is a solid matchup too and isnt there a lakers/spurs matchup too? WOW! Washington is extremely impressive, Caron Butler is an absolute stud. They have a very very good team, 22-12 since that 0-5 start and they just beat Dallas by 18……. theyre damn good.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:35 pm
Now I’m curious about Russ’s topic.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:35 pm
Glad to be here for you eboy. I may be the only person in my 200 person office currently smiling.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:36 pm
I G**gled G**gs and yes, his tat** actually was th*rns. Not sure h*w I remember this stuff.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:36 pm
This mcnugget character sure knows how to drop a long-ass post.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:37 pm
That’s all I wanted to say. I only tried to post it 10 times.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:37 pm
Russ cracks me the fu*k up. And yeah, Bodie, I miss the old days, too.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:38 pm
I have yet to hear you deny anything Holly. Which by no means is to suggest that, I am correct, there is something wrong with it. Not where I am coming from at all.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:38 pm
    thorns, how

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:38 pm
Bodie and eboy creep me the f*ck out.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 3:38 pm
I actually do have to leave now.. grocery time…I will be back in a bit.. solo, and I will let you know if I have found anyone’s arms to crash into.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:38 pm
Russ, I couldn’t post a comment with g**gle in it earlier too. Strange.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:39 pm
any one think the Nets or Bulls will turn it around? If the cavs land Mike Bibby they will be on par with the Celtics and Pistons. If the Hawks land Mike Bibby or another good Pg they could fight for a 4/5 seed in the East with Orlando/Washington/Cleveland and Toronto and win near 50 games…… the hawks are 13-6 in games that Anthony Johnson plays 26 or more minutes as their PG. That is basically the Trent Dilfer with the Ravens method… if they got a good PG it would be the last piece in their path to developing into contenders, all would be left is to watch them grow into it… well, that and a przybilla type to start at the 5 and play 20 minutes a night.. Mike Bibby is an absolute STUD.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:39 pm
    Bodie, kill it, now, please.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:39 pm
The fact that they are BOTH lawyers is even creepier

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:40 pm

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:40 pm
Sorry for the creep out Russ. The two of us haven’t had this type of interaction for a while.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:40 pm
You guys do realize that the mag (and thus the site) are aimed at a pretty young demographic, right? For the sake of the kids, can we maybe be a little less graphic? F*ckers is one thing, but let’s try and keep the imagery to PG-13 and below, huh? (Or gosh, stick to basketball. What a concept.)

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:41 pm
    Um………

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:41 pm
Caron Butler has had a breakout year right in front of our eyes. He is an absolute stud of a young leader/franchise player, a great allaround player on both ends of the court. He is an absolute stud, no other way to describe him.

Russ – A search for Gugliotta and barbed wire tattoo reveals the following interview from his time with the Suns:
Q: Why did you get a barbed wire tattoo? Is it because you’re a Pamela Anderson fan?
    – Jeremy Moss, Melbourne, Australia Gugliotta: Who isn’t? (laughs) No, it’s just something I saw on somebody. It was a little bit different, but I thought, “I like it.” The guy who did my tattoo had done a few of them and he kind of put some of his own stuff in there. eboy – Apparently the minions do not appreciate our sense of humor. Killed.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:43 pm
mcnugget: Will the Bulls and Nets turn things around? NO. Not without some major personnel changes. And if Bibby is such a stud as you say, why on earth would the Kings ever get rid of him?

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:43 pm
is Holly Madison the girl from that show on E? Hef’s girlfriend?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:44 pm
While I agree with Russ’s sentiment, I imagine that kids wouldn’t be here at the moment since they should be in school, and it’s doubtful that most of them coming out of school are going to read through 425+ comments of silliness for the most part. But I do agree with the idea.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:44 pm
    Google off,R*ss

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:44 pm
Russ – In all fairness, those kids should be in school. Speaking of kids and school, where is BETCATS/ CHUKAZ?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:44 pm
    Bad ink?

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 3:45 pm
    BETCATS is actually 28

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:45 pm
Bodie: That’s funny, because I found this from 1997: ‘ Like so many NBA players these days, Tom Gugliotta has some body art. He got it after last season in Los Angeles, from a artist who had sketched some designs. “It’s supposed to be thorns,” Gugliotta said of the tattoo, which wraps around his right biceps and occasionally gets mistaken for barbed wire. “People either like it or they don’t. Some of them have said, `You don’t look like the sort of person who would get a tattoo.’ ” ‘

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:45 pm
oh its not madison, my bad. The Nets are getting Krstic back, that could help pretty big……. I think the Kings will get rid of him because theyre gonna have Beno be their young PG and go young as they build a contender over the next few years…. How did the Bulls win 50 games last year with the same exact team minus Joe Smith and Noah?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:46 pm
I don’t like armband or tribal tattoos very much.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:46 pm
And just tone it down people, that’s all I’m saying. Would you want all of your illegitimate kids to read that stuff?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:46 pm
Bodie, I actually don’t care about the 5 other males here at the moment, they’re all big boys who speak their minds if they need too. I actually meant the tweaking of Ms. McKenzie. I’m about done, too. Too many feelings to tiptoe around currently. And that’s no slight to anyone, just saying, was just having a little fun with my west coast counterpart.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:47 pm
    Mcnugget is doing his best.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:47 pm
    Sensitive little f-ckers.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:47 pm
Deng needs to step up as their leader, playmaker, #1 option, and franchise player and do for them what Caron has done for the Wizards….. and the Bulls need to get their defense back to what it was last year……. damn the Bulls need to turn it around. They still could but its gonna be tough, they need to get it together.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:48 pm
I refuse to talk about the Bulls because if I do I’ll probably have a stroke.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:48 pm
Bibby is a middle of the road guard. He’s not a superstar he’s just plain good. But he would help a team like the Cavs. That’s really the only team I see him helping though.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:49 pm
Im getting sad thinking about the Bulls……

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:50 pm
Bibby in Boston would make them more dangerous with Rondo off the bench.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:50 pm
I think Bibby is a fantastic Pointguard. He could do a ton for the right team.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:50 pm
The Bulls are shockingly horrible. Smart move to sign Big Ben and let Chandler walk.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:51 pm
Man you know what, I still think the Bulls are gonna turn it around and go like 30-11 over their last 41 games.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:51 pm
I think that’s too much Eboy. Too many options.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
mcnuggets was making sense until that Bulls comment.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
It’s obvious that the contract extension bullsh*t and trade rumors shattered both Deng and Gordon in the early going, and there’s not ONE person on that team who can create their own shot. They’re undersized at every position, Ben Wallace is too old, and Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas are too young. Joe Smith is by FAR the best player on the Bulls right now, and that’s just plain embarassing. (Credit to Chapu, too, who’s having a decent year at least.)

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
go 30-11 over their last 41 games finishing 46-36 to get the 7 seed losing a tiebreaker with the raptors.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
30-11 over their last 41?! Have you seen the Bulls lately??

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
even dumber move trading Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas……. Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Aldridge, Chandler…… ouch

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:52 pm
eboy – If we’re going to discuss basketball, please share your short and long term goals for the Heat.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:53 pm
The Bulls will be lucky to win 30 of their next 60 unless they make some kind of blockbuster deal.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:53 pm
Ha. Don’t get Russ started on the Chandler Ben Debate.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:53 pm
Russ, will they ever make a move?

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:54 pm
Yeah i sound crazy but I think it could really happen….. theyre the same team that won 50 games last year plus Joe Smith and Noah…… I think they could do it.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:54 pm
And the only way the Celtics could get Bibby would be if they traded Pierce or Allen, which obviously ain’t happening.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:55 pm
Heat: Short term – more losses. Long term – #1 pick.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:56 pm
I’m as big a Bulls fan as there is, and I don’t think they could go 30-11 in the D-League right now.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:56 pm
If the Bulls were the same team as last year I would be so much happier, I hope they do turn it around like I said with a 30-11 finish to get to 46-36 and land that 6 or 7 seed fightin the Raptors, that would make for a fantastic playoffs out east with Cavs, Magic, Pistons, Celtics, Bulls, Raptors, Wizards and whoever gets the 8 spot as well as the awesome bracket that will be out west.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 3:58 pm
The Bulls could still turn it around, they could. The Warriors were like 24-31 before turning it around last year.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:58 pm
Is there a clear cut #1 this year? Do any of the star freshman appear to be ready to dominate next year?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:58 pm
46-36 might get the 5th seed in the East.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 3:58 pm
Eboy have you ever heard of the Poison the Well? They’re from Miami that’s the only reason I ask.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 3:58 pm
The short trm ones are already being met. Shaq’s sitting for extended time, the record will keep being horrible, Wade will be shut down withing 25 games, they’ll get a high lottery pick, Riley will step down in the offseason, from all accounts it seems like Zo may try to come back next season, they have 7 expiriing deals, they’ll get the lottery player mixed in with a fully healthy Wade, a similar performing Shaq of this season and a few new pieces with the freed up money, plus a new coach. Next season is promising. Not championship level, but back to the playoffs and a start to building towards the time without Shaq. Not killing myself over this season.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 3:59 pm
By #1, I mean #1 pick in the draft.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 3:59 pm
Rose and Mayo. Don’t know about dominate, but definite ROY candidates.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 3:59 pm
The way the Bulls are playing right now they might lose 11 more games before the All-Star break.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 4:00 pm
    Bodie:No,but some great prospects.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:01 pm
mcnugget: The Warriors traded for Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington. That helped.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:03 pm
If the Bulls can convince someone to take the moldering corpse of Ben Wallace off their hands and somehow acquire either a low-post scorer or a big guard who can create his own shot, maybe they make the playoffs. MAYBE.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:03 pm
Assuming the Heat get the number 2 pick, who do they take? A big man? (I hope for eboy’s sake it isn’t Hibbert – homeboy is horrible). A point guard? Is there a great PG in college right now whose games translates to the NBA? It seems like the best players in college this year play a similar position/ style as Wade.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:05 pm
Derrick Rose is by far the best PG. His game is NBA ready. Mayo is listed as a point, but I don’t see him playing that in the league. And yes, Hibbert is a stiff.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:05 pm
Have the Heat traded away their pick in any of the deals they have made? If so, is it top 3 protected?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:05 pm
Uhm….Bodie, they will be horrible enough for the #1, I believe.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:06 pm
they didnt have a low-post scorer last year (Joe smith is a better lowpost scorer than anyone they had last year by far), or a big 2guard and they still won 50 games and made the 2nd round. 46 I dont think will get the 5th seed because I think the Magic, Wizards and Cavs will all have more wins than that.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:06 pm
No, the pick stays with them.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:07 pm
This just in: The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Luol Deng is going to be shut down for a “significant amount of time” (read as weeks, not days) because of his sore Achilles. I wonder who they’re gonna send to Secaucus!

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:07 pm
The heat cant draft a PG, theyd be better off getting a steve blake and putting him next to wade who is their main playmaker and has the ball in his hands anyways especialy in the 4th quarter. If theyre drafting an impact player they should draft Beasley and then fill in with shooters that can defend and roleplayers all around him and Wade.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 4:08 pm
Ty Lawson is an excellent PG,not sure he’d work in the NBA though,I hope he would.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:08 pm
Are you serious about that Deng news Russ????!?!?!?!?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:08 pm
Worse than the Wolves? Wow. I guess you’re right if Wade shuts it down. Is the local press going easy on Shaq? Or are people starting to call for him to be bought out? I can’t imagine he’d respond to that too well.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:08 pm
Damn! Sucks for the Bulls. I didn’t even know Deng was having injury issues other than his lower back.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:09 pm
mcnugget: While I admire your faith, you’re f*cking crazy. They’ll be EXTREMELY lucky to win 40 games this year.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:10 pm
In fairness to the Bulls, how much worse could they be without Deng.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:10 pm
Damn, forget it. The bulls are definitely all done without Deng.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:10 pm
And yes, I’m serious about Deng. He’s been dealing with this Achilles thing for a while–it’s why he’s missed games of late.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:10 pm
Don’t really matter who has the worst record since it is a “lottery”. Minny should have the best odds at getting the #1 pick.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:10 pm
And to think that you nearly had Kobe.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:11 pm
Theyre all done, no way they win more than 33 games.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:12 pm
They are definitely finished without Deng. season is over.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:13 pm
damn the bulls are so sad this year, depressing

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:13 pm
Shaq and Wade both are being eaten up down here. Wade for his lack of D and sh*t attitude and Shaq…..basically for being old. His injuries right now are his issue, not necessarily his game.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:13 pm
This isn’t nearly as much fun as trading barbs with eboy and teasing Holly.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:14 pm
    Exactly.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:14 pm
Their guards have been horrible with or without him. Hinrich is shooting 39 percent from the floor, 30 percent from three. Ben Gordon is at 42 and 38.5. All below career averages. And Ben Wallace is averaging 4.6 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting a robust 34.8 percent from the floor. 34.8! He never shoots from more than 10 feet away! I’m convinced he’s getting paid under the table by the Pistons to destroy the Bulls.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:15 pm
So, to ask my question more directly, is there a star player available at the top of the 2008 draft who will provide immediate help to the Heat? I don’t see it.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:16 pm
And trade all the barbs you want, just try and limit recapping your favorite bedroom scenes from “Maurice Does Miami.”

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:19 pm
In fairness to Gordon, he picked it up tremendously lately.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:19 pm
Mayo WAS a star until his underwhelming freshman campaign in SoCal.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:20 pm
    Good one, Russ.
BTW – It is f-cking pouring out here. Santa Barbara instantly floods when it rains because the mountains are so close to the ocean that all the rain instantly comes flowing directly into the city. Driving home should be fun tonight. Too bad there won’t be any pedestrians out to destroy via driving through puddles.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:20 pm
For the record, Dennis Rodman’s LOWEST rebounding average in his three years with the Bulls was 9.3 per. And his lowest field goal percentage was 43.1 percent.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:21 pm
The NBA needs to get Mayo to the Clippers. Especially since Sam Cassell is the newly elected president of AARP.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:21 pm
I have to agree about Mayo, TAD. And how the fu*k would Russ know about “Maurice Does Miami”?
    What the fu*k is that?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:22 pm
Someone buy Ben a wedding dress and color his hair.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:22 pm
Tell me that it’s not news to you that Big Ben sucks.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:22 pm
    What about Shaun “Crazylegs” Livingston?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:23 pm
Russ, Dennis was also a legend, not a career journeyman like Ben Wallace.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:23 pm
That was just defensive rebounds Russ.At 33 he was averaging 16.8 rebounds and averaged double figures until his last season in Dallas. He didn’t get thrown out cause he couldn’t do it anymore it was because he was too distracting.I bet he could still out rebound Ben and no I’m not bullsh*tting.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:24 pm
It’s not news to me that Big Ben sucks. I’m just trying to explain why the Bulls have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl than they do of going 30-11 the rest of the way.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:25 pm
Whoops, my bad. Yeah, his low with the Bulls was 14.9 a game. I’m a moron.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:25 pm
Livingston wasn’t developing much as a player before his injury.
I haven’t watched USC play much, but Mayo appears to be really trying to not dominate and allowing his teammates to develop. From what I have seen, I have been impressed, as much with his maturity as his skill level.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:25 pm
    Would Captain Kirk be Eli?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:26 pm
I think Mayo is the real deal.He may not be Lebron like he was pegged to be, but a 20-5-4 career doesn’t seem out of the question to me.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:29 pm
That’s what they said about Penny Hardaway.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:29 pm
I’m not saying that Mayo isn’t going to be great, but he definitely ha struggled at times this season. Then again, it could be the fact that Tim Floyd is coaching him.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:29 pm
Speaking of the Super Bowl, I am 100% convinced that the superstar NBA swing men would dominate the NFL as receivers within 1 year if they started training for football. Can you imagine LeBron, with another 20 pounds of muscle, being covered by those 5’10 corners? How about Iverson, a small NBA player, instantly becoming a tall corner? Boozer/ Dwight Howard as a tight end? The young Shaq as a defensive end?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:29 pm
    *has

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:30 pm
Floyd has a great reputation as a college coach, and got a pretty raw deal in the NBA.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:30 pm
Wade, Deron, B-Diddy as rotating fullbacks.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:30 pm
Well of course it’s barring injuries Russ. Before the injuries Penny was the truth.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:31 pm
Ivy was actually a star football player in highschool at QB. He decided he loved bball more. Plus, that whole riot thing.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 4:31 pm
I think that OJ will probably be a quiet scorer in the NBA.He’ll score about 20 a game and no-one will notice.Or you know-I may just be an idiot and wrong.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:32 pm
The old Shaq as the first 450lb left guard?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:32 pm
I can see that Izzo, he doesn’t seem to be explosive like a Dwade.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:32 pm
    Probbly the latter, izzo.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:33 pm
LeBron wouldn’t even need another 20 pounds of muscle.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:33 pm
KG as the first 7-3 corner?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:33 pm
    probably*

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:33 pm
Nah Lebron would be like a good Matt Jones, who disappoints me greatly.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:33 pm
Jerome James as a tackling dummy?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:34 pm
    CP-3 at the QB.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:34 pm
Kenyon Martin as a psychopathic outside linebacker?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:34 pm
    Nash as the ultimate PK.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:35 pm
I could actually see Big Baby playing left guard for the Patriots now.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:35 pm
Rasheed would have to be a wide receiver. He’s got the proper temperment.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:36 pm
Could you imagine all the 15 yard penalties?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:36 pm
Shawn Marion would be a receiver, too.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 4:36 pm
    Eboy:Because he’s white?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:37 pm
    Artest as a linebacker?
All the Euro f-cks (Okur, Vujacic, Ginobli – I’m using “Euro” lightly) would be kickers.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:37 pm
And add Amare to the tight end list.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:38 pm
Probably because he plays soccer izzo, but the white thing fits too.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:38 pm
I thought it was Richard Jefferson who was rumored to be a receiver.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:39 pm
Rasheed would end a game with six touchdowns and -127 total yards. He’d be banned from the NFL within a year.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 4:39 pm
If he’s good at kicking a ball over the bar,he’s a really bas soccer player.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:39 pm
That’s a different kind of receiver for Jefferson.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:39 pm
Nash would be the first ambidextrous QB. With a mullet.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:40 pm
Jason Kidd would be the QB.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:40 pm
Yes, because of soccer, TAD and Bodie that RJ line was fan-fu*king-tastic.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:41 pm
    Kobe as T.O.?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:41 pm
Vince would be a great receiver when he first came in the league, and then started to suck because he stopped going over the middle to avoid contact.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:41 pm
Haslem & Maxiell as middle linebackers.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:42 pm
    Damon Jones as Freddie Mitchell?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:42 pm
    Damon Jones as Freddie Mitchell?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:44 pm
Ron Artest would finish his first game with three sacks, eight solo tackles, two fumble recoveries and six kills.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:44 pm
Oliver Miller would be the only player who can play the same position in both sports.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:45 pm
    Barbosa as a neurotic DB.
Kurt Thomas as a crazy DE.
    Mike Sweetney as a center.
Elton Brand as a tight end.
If I were an aspiring agent, I would be scouting college hoops for players who won’t make the NBA, but have the size and athleticism to dominate in football. Hide them for a year, juice em up with decadurabolin, winstrol, and HGH, train them like crazy, and then bring them all to the combine hyped up on meth. The NFL would never be the same.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:46 pm
Andrei Kirilenko would be a RIDICULOUS free safety.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:49 pm
Russ, wasn’t it Vernon Maxwell back in the day who said he was going to train for a year and then tryout for an NFL team as a DB?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:49 pm
    I like the idea, Bodie.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:49 pm
I play hoops with a 5’11″, 170 lb. guy named Tito who may have the worst attitude in the history of basketball. He’d be a perfect DB. He also has at least a 40″ vertical, is quicker than eboy in a thong running towards RJ’s house, and is an incredible athlete. If he showed up at the combine, he’d get drafted in a flash. Why he wastes his time playing pick-up basketball, I have no idea.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 4:49 pm
Artest would be like that Karate guy in Necessary Roughness.

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:50 pm
    sad bulls, sad

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:51 pm
Eboy – If I lived close enough to a major city, I would consider pursuing it. All you need is some investors to support the athletes for a year or so.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:51 pm
The worst attitude thing is probably the issue, Bodie.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:51 pm
And bodie: You mean Antonio Gates? Or Donovan McNabb? Or Tony Gonzalez? Or Julius Peppers? Or Ronald Curry?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:51 pm
My friend Craig could walk on right now as a kick returner. He runs a 4.2 40 has a 38 inch vert and can bench nearly 300 pounds but he just doesn’t want it. I don’t understand it.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 4:52 pm
Isn’t there three NFL teams in California? Travel, son.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 4:52 pm
That was Mad Max during his Sixer days. He figured he had a better chance of winning games with the Eagles.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:53 pm
Pat Riley was drafted by the Cowboys.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 4:54 pm
    Is that true Russ?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 4:54 pm
Russ – Antonio Gates is 6’4″. How many 6’8″ power forwards are there on D1 rosters right now, who have the build, but won’t play in the NBA? How many 6’2″ PGs are there who can’t shoot, but have the entire skill set to be huge corners?

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 4:55 pm
    RJ is such a fruit

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:56 pm
Mad Max was an All-State d-back in high school.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 4:56 pm
I don’t understand people who sit on talent like that I would do anything to play a pro sport. This other guy I went to school with had a 44 inch vert, could throw a football 70 yards standing at 18 years old and was like 5’11 210 he would have been a ridiculous DB.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 4:58 pm
bodie: A lot of those guys probably aren’t interested in being crippled for life by 40, which is why they chose basketball in the first place.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:00 pm
I’m back!! Got the goods for dinner tonight too. And the talk has shifted to football..great. haha

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:02 pm
    Holly, what’s on the menu?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:02 pm
Interesting to read who would be good where though. I don’t mind watching the game, I get the basics, but I don’t know all of the positions, etc. I’m picturing Iverson just running circles around everyone. Kinda like in basketball. The guy is insane and like I said the other night during their game against the Lakers, I always feel guilty when I root against him.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:04 pm
Holly, if you had the same type of love for American football as you did for basketball you would have an incredible sideman to your Basketball Jones.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:04 pm
Holly,I for the most part have no idea what they’re talking about either

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:05 pm
Your average offensive position player (as well as the smaller defensive players) won’t be crippled for life. Now as for those hippos who have the play on the line – those guys are in trouble.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:05 pm
    What else is new, Izzo?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:05 pm
I always talk to one of my friends about what would happen if the best American basketball players grew up as soccer players instead. Imagine AI as a roving center midfielder or striker? KG as a goalie? Jamal Crawford on the wing?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:06 pm
jerk chicken and…something.. haha I want greek salad but I’m not sure that would be the best combo.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:08 pm
Jerk chicken? Damn, lady. Tim Duncan would be all over that sh*t.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:08 pm
Holly, you making that from scratch?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:08 pm
Jerk chicken? Holly – During your absence, Russ asked that we keep the comments clean. Come on now.
Russ – Please stop talking about soccer.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:09 pm
yeah, Izz, I’m trying, because I love the idea of having sunday/monday night football sessions. I also get so damn into wanting the players to do well and LOVE watching the little halftime interviews and stories they have with the guys about their struggles etc. hahaha I am such a girl in that sense. I get roped in and suddenly I’m pulling for the guy and I don’t even know his name or team.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:09 pm
Yeah, beacuse that would bring out Ryan, and who needs that late in the afternoon.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:10 pm
I like soccer. Prefer it to American football, actually. Pads are for suckers.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:10 pm
yes sir, Tad. It’s the only way. Bodie, very funny.. and I did see Russ step in and take care of things (thanks, Russ!).

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:11 pm
Holly, you want to catch feelings about some football players, look no further than the Miami Dolphins. They’ll make you weep every time.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:12 pm
I’ll look into it Eboy. I’m going to just let you guys go on with your convo though and see if I can learn something from it. You all were on a roll before I stepped in!

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:12 pm
    Russ,you’re an Arsenal fan right?If so haha,if not,nevermind

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 5:12 pm
I’m listening to Jodeci do Lately live right now. Now this was the ish back in the day.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:13 pm
    600

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:15 pm
Arsenal, yes. One horrific match doesn’t destroy the season. I hope. And my favorite NFL team is the Oakland Raiders. The 1976 Oakland Raiders.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:15 pm
Shia: no punk rock? WTF?! And Holly: no sir’s please! I’m not that old.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:15 pm
    Jodeci? My god.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:16 pm
I’m listening to Black Sabbath, ‘Heaven and Hell.’

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:17 pm
You guys seem to be losing steam and very lucky Togo didn’t get into the African Cup of Nations.

  • CoCo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:18 pm
The Falcons will make you weep of late too Holly

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:18 pm
    Waylon Jennings.WHAT?!

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 5:19 pm
Dude I have versatile musical taste.Check the list on the myspace.I like football nearly as much as basketball. And I f*cking love the Mets.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:20 pm
So are you a Giants or Jets fan?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:21 pm
    And sorry about your Mets.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:22 pm
    Hendrix, Bold As Love.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 5:22 pm
    jets.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:22 pm
until you come back to me by aretha just ended and now its how do you want it by Tupac. And, Bodie, I don’t need any warnings about keeping things clean, thanks!

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:23 pm
Me and my boy are planning a trip to NY to see a game at Yankee Stadium and a game at Shea Stadium since this is the last year for either venue.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:23 pm
sorry about the “sir” Tad. Have they announced anything about the skills contest for all-star weekend yet?

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:23 pm
Heaven and Hell? As in, with Ronnie James Dio as the singer? That is blasphemy! Like the post-Jordan Bulls. Horrible, Russ. Just horrible.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:24 pm
All good Holly. Was messing with ya anyway.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:25 pm
I’m hoping to go to Boston in March to catch a couple of Celtics games, a Boston College game and what WAS going to be Crosby play, but looks like that won’t be happening.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:25 pm
I’m wondering who turned your young ears on to Aretha anyway?

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:26 pm
I must be the only person under 50 who listens to Waylon Jennings.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:26 pm
“It’s just a rainbow in the dark!!!”

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:26 pm
    Waylon who??

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:27 pm
    Exactly TAD,exactly.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.23 at 5:28 pm
    Sorry. I’ve been watching soccer.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:28 pm
TAD, to dumb it down, Waylon was the narrator of the Dukes Of Hazzard. You do know the Dukes of Hazzard, right?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:29 pm
    YOU MOTHERFU*KER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:29 pm
    I was kidding Eboy.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:29 pm
    Waylon Jennings is awesome.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:29 pm
    But where’s Hazzard?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:29 pm
    Thankfully, TAD.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:30 pm
I don’ know Tad, I’ve liked old school singers and songs that you can really feel for as long as I can remember.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.23 at 5:31 pm
F*ck. Chelsea scored. I’m most likely done watching soccer now.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:31 pm
    At least somebody’s with me.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:32 pm
Top 5 male soul singers (no order) Marvin
    Sam
    Otis
    Al
    Smokey

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:32 pm
    ryan sighting!! haha

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:32 pm
    GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:32 pm
My list could go to 10 easy.

  • SchW Posted: Jan.23 at 5:33 pm
    Can I say: 631th post. Damn…

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:34 pm
Hey Ryan, at least you didn’t give up five f*cking goals to Tottenham f*cking Hotspur. I need to find Steve Nash and punch him in the face.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:35 pm
eboy: You forgot D’Angelo, R. Kelly and Andre 3000. Oh, and Harry Connick, Jr.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 5:35 pm
Ha Shia, I got that one. From the arsenio hall show.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:35 pm
Russ, just so you know, this talk is as offensive to me as Bodie and mine was to you. Seriously.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:36 pm
Russ, I’m not sure if you are being funny or not, so I’ll act like I didn’t read that.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:37 pm
In fairness Russ,Spurs are good, they have a manager who can’t speak English,a striker who thinks he’s better than the club another who was told to leave and then given the captaincy and another striker who’s hated by the country he plays for. They have a lot of talent though.Their like the Knicks – Isiah

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:38 pm
The difference is that your talk was offensive to everybody on the planet Earth. Soccer talk is only offensive to xenophobic Americans.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:39 pm
    xenophobes are underrated.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:39 pm
The Knicks would be so much better if they had a coach who couldn’t speak English.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:40 pm
    I’m xenophobic?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 5:41 pm
I like Tennis more than Soccer.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:41 pm
Miles Davis has some amazing stuff. When I fall in Love and Summertime are two of my favorites, but I like your list Eboy. Ain’t no Sunshine When She’s Gone kills me too. Aretha is up there too.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:42 pm
Wait. You were watching soccer and somebody scored? What a f-cking miracle.
    Again, soccer sucks.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:43 pm
Anita Baker’s Rapture is the best.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:43 pm
Aretha Franklin had two children by the time she was 16,irrelevant but nonetheless a fact.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.23 at 5:43 pm
    Miles Davis sang?

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.23 at 5:44 pm
Bodie, just on principle, shouldn’t you avoid publicly agreeing with Jim Rome?

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:44 pm
I’d like to see the Knicks play without a coach for a game.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:44 pm
Shia – Tennis is the sh-t, especially in HD. The new Serbian chick (or should I say ich?) is smoking.
Another brilliant idea from me: If the WTA played strip tennis, it would be highest rated sporting event in history. As long as they kept their shoes on and keep those horrid glow in the dark tennis feet covered up.

  • d.Y. Posted: Jan.23 at 5:45 pm
Oh Eboy, Timmy don’t eat no jerk nothin. Wrong island. Fish & fungi boy.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:46 pm
Ryan – Anybody that calls Nascar the “Left Turn Circuit” and refers to the WNBA as horse racing is a friend of mine.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:46 pm
Aretha Franklin looks like she has ate both of her kids too.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:47 pm
The Knicks play without a coach every game, Holly.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:47 pm
My list was MALE SINGERS, not females or soloists like Miles.
    Females: Aretha
    Gladys
    Lauryn
    Darlene Love
Modern voice: f”*ck rehab girl, try Joss Stone.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:48 pm
Aretha Franklin looks like she ate Michigan.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:48 pm
    A clue as well.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.23 at 5:48 pm
Looks like an all-London final, Russ. Maybe your Gooners can bring all their 13-year-old reserves up to the Northwest to play a consolation match.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:50 pm
Joss Stone of the biggest fake in the world of anything,at least Crackhouse writes all her own songs.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:50 pm
I’d be more interested in Ryan’s soccer comments if it was the Goonies playing in the game. Gooners, you fu*king serious?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:51 pm
Amy Winehouse looks like she died eight weeks ago.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:52 pm
izzo, stop ridin her tampoon. Joss blows that bit*h out of the water vocally. Aretha wrote a miniscule amount of her own music. Is she sh*t too? Moron.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jan.23 at 5:52 pm
eboy had the 666th comment, i knew he was the white devil

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:52 pm
    Again?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:53 pm
I had that sh*t last week. What the fuc*?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 5:54 pm
Did Tarzan drop in just to see who would get that?

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:54 pm
Well Joss is seen as a joke because she fakes an American accent, tries to boast about her drug use at every opportunity and hangs around with a lot of loser rappers. She just false

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:55 pm
yes, I loved Joss Stone until she became well known in the US and got annoying. Still love her voice though. Amy’s voice is killer, Izzo. Lauryn’s “Zion” is one of my all-time favorites. I love Bob Marley and Ben Harper too. Currently loving Ray LaMontagne as well. Russ, I figured someone would say that, haha.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:55 pm
True story, my Hoop It Up squad for the last few years has been called The White Devils. Want to talk about some crazed looks?

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 5:56 pm
    I like Ben Harper.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:57 pm
A fake American accent? i saw him on some show the other day and I had a hard time deciphiring alot of what she said because of her English accent. Whatever, you’re a louse.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:57 pm
I also like John Mayer, does that make me ghey?

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:58 pm
her* Joss can get it on a wheelbarrel or a gondola.

  • jbn74sb Posted: Jan.23 at 5:58 pm
Hoop It Up has a “Special” League? Cute.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 5:58 pm
Love John Legend for newer stuff as well.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 5:58 pm
    Yes Izzo, it does?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 5:58 pm
Don’t get me wrong, Amy Winehouse is f*cking amazing. But she’d smoke uranium if she thought it would get her high. If Britney Spears is a trainwreck, Amy Winehouse is a nuclear holocaust.

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 5:59 pm
She tried a fake American accent a few months back, got hammered in the media for it,so changed back. And her normal accent is easy to understand so not sure what you’re talking about.

and I just saw an ad for the grammy’s and the music was the nba promo playoff music last year. Or, at least I think it was. Or the music of a Nike commercial? Either way, it was odd.

wanted to share the latest Kobe video a friend made. It’s set to a jordan commercial and i LOVE the highschool clips and the picture of a youngg Kobe. If there are any Laker fans on here, check his other video’s on youtube, he creates some of the video’s for the Lakers and often creates stuff for KB’s official site. Talented guy, this is just a short vid.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 6:22 pm
Tad, that one starts on the 31st against Detroit. This is a two gamer, SA and Dallas, then home for Cleveland and NY.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 6:24 pm

my all-time favorite is the Magic-Man. It’s by a friend of his. I don’t think it is online, but if I can find it for you, I’ll link you. I have it saved to my computer and it makes me get all misty-eyed every damn time!

  • H to the izzo Posted: Jan.23 at 6:33 pm
TAD:A friend was supposed to email me some pics today but never did, you’ll get them eventually

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 6:34 pm

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 6:58 pm
    Internet is worldwide.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:01 pm

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:04 pm
    Get a job f*cker.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:05 pm
? I’m going to save money how would I save money if I didn’t have a job to make money?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:05 pm
That’s gonna suck without you here. Funny thing is if I get this promotion at work I probably won’t be on here as much myself.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:08 pm
If they made the sh*t sidekick friendly like it used to be I’d be here. Some of my very first comments were made on a sidekick.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:09 pm
Well since Lang is looking at that new posting software, maybe i will be soon enough. You going to stay with your girl?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:09 pm
    *it

  • mcnugget Posted: Jan.23 at 7:10 pm
Gerald Wallace plays the Bobcats can win. Bobcats may end up being the team from the 9-team eastern basement that turns it around and gets to 43 wins and the 7 seed. Theyve been pretty damn good since they got Nazr and have beat some really good teams in winning 7 of their last 12 or whatever it is.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:11 pm
My mom still owns a house down there and since my dad f*cked me over, I’m going to stay there and work at my old job where I made a ton of money and had a ridiculous amount of fun.And she is going to move in with me.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:12 pm
    Sounds like a plan.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.23 at 7:13 pm
We gonna get to Barry Bonds numbers today?

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:14 pm
Hopefully the moving in won’t f*ck up the good sh*t ya’ll have going.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:15 pm
We could Russ. Speaking of Barry, they just reported that he asked a judge to remove perjury charges against him. Loser.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 7:15 pm
Ditto what Tad said. You’ve gotta be looking forward to getting rid of the long-distance crap, Shia.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:15 pm
Hopefully..I’ve lived with a girl before, but she was an assh*le and we were together 3 years and lived together for half of that. This one is not so…

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:15 pm
And I just read about that Rick Majerus crap, too.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:15 pm
we lost by 12. long post up.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:17 pm
Well like I said the distance wasn’t so bad , this is her hometown so she comes up a lot anyway even if I wasn’t in her life.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:17 pm
    get 800 break record.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 7:18 pm
noticed she calls you effer on your myspace wall. Sounds like a match made in heaven! haha I’m getting real antsy for this Lakers game.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:19 pm
Haha we really are perfect together it’s pretty amazing and I’ve had a lot of g/fs and so I’m not just some dumbass kid who doesn’t know what it’s about. This is legit. We’re the real deal.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:20 pm
Yeah, moving in, in most cases, tends to disolve a relationship pretty quick unless you and that person have an understanding of not letting petty stuff bother you. If small sh*t bothers you, then good luck.

  • hursty Posted: Jan.23 at 7:21 pm
holly the game hasnt started yet and bowen wont contain kobe well enough, fish and odom need to step up even more.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:22 pm

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 7:23 pm

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 7:28 pm
k i edited the link out because I noticed some questionable content on the site itself. haah sorry if I offended anyone! I know Tad…Until my game comes and goes on Feb 1st.. I will be a wreck praying everything goes well.. and that is all I am going to say about that topic and please leave it at that.. I don’t want to jinx anything. hahah.. I’m sure you know what I am referring to.. Alright, conversation over… Now…I’m going to go get some stuff done before I start to cook. aghhh.. hahaa.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:28 pm
That sh*t was hilarious! I love how they have Eli up there twice. Adam Morrison and Lil Dun always look like that though.

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 7:28 pm
haha I know right, Nash was the best.

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:29 pm
I bet Nash would be a f*cking party drunk.

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:29 pm

  • Bryan Posted: Jan.23 at 7:30 pm

  • TADOne Posted: Jan.23 at 7:31 pm
Yeah Nashty looks like he would live up to that nickname with a few drinks.

  • white hot eboy Posted: Jan.23 at 7:32 pm

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.23 at 11:59 pm
12 point third quarter………………………..why do the lakers tease me like this….

  • Tom Posted: Jan.24 at 1:42 am
you saw that too Holly…….wtf!!! judging from the boxscore that 1st half was beautiful, and then….BAM, i don’t the Lakers have played 4 straight quarters of solid ball, even with Bynum, they always have these lapses, and you can’t do that against the Spurs, and Kobe 9 TO’s, ughh

  • Tom Posted: Jan.24 at 1:50 am
I just hope they get this ugliness out of their system now, so by next week when they come to TO I’ll get to see them play properly….speaking of the Raps……..JOSE!!!! if dude isn’t an all star after that, then the term all-star is meaningless

  • Holly MacKenzie Posted: Jan.24 at 2:01 am
this was a horrible, horrible night. I am just starting the recaps now because I wasted my evening watching the lakers fall apart and then wrote about it to try to get some frustration out. MAN… You’ll get to hear about it tomorrow. If I ever get these recaps done. haha.. man I am soooo cranky now..UGHHH why must they play sooooo well and then just disappear?!

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jan.24 at 2:38 am
SLAM, IF LINAS KLEIZA ON JOSH SMITH ISNT SLAMADAMONTH, I SWEAR I WILL GO TO NY AND PERSONALLY SLAP THE S%IT OUT OF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!!!! “but, there was no good picture” you might say, yea, that was such a great pic of keith closs……
