Gimpy Wade to Play in the Olympics

Oh yeah, the Miami Heat must be thrilled to hear this: D-Wade, who hasn’t been healthy all season long, fully intends to play in the Olympics this summer.

    As*hole. (Wade, not Myles)

he should go the yao route.

I can understand the frustration on Eboy’s part, but I think he’s hardly an a**hole for first playing for the Heat practically injured, and then doing the same for the national team. In general, I’d rather heap scorn on those guys that use minor injuries (or whatever) to get out of repping their country.

doing the math…he will be exactly the same percentage in health next year as he is this year….neverending cycle of perpetual retardation.

Slobodan, dude is already commiting to a month long proccess of more competitve ball in the off-season when he has stunk up the joint almost every night this season. He is not right physically, if he is and this is the D-Wade that Heat fans and the rest of the league get to watch for years to come, it’s going to be dissapointing. He should take the time as soon as game 82 ends, rest up, watch the draft, rehab, get ready for the preseason and try to lead the team he gets paid from back to decency. We have enough excellent players that can fill his spot without the United States missing a beat in the Olympics.

dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!does the us-team pay him more or what?with that kinda money the heat pay him,he should try to get healthy for next season.can´t believe that

  • lockedc Posted: Feb.29 at 3:53 pm
btw.he sucked the last WC´s,like the hole team

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Feb.29 at 3:57 pm
I don’t think he’ll have to play 40 minutes a night and shoulder the burden of the scoring load for Team USA. Hard to blame him for wanting to go to Beijing and be a part of the best Olympic team since 1992.

stop the presses…. did white hot eboy change his name? or is that a fake?

  • Khalid Salaam Posted: Feb.29 at 4:20 pm
It’s his life, his body. If he ends up as the next Penny so be it. You guys won a championship due to his contributions…be easy.

D-Wade’s got skiL let him play

  • Captain America Posted: Feb.29 at 4:47 pm
Just because the Heat are a piss poor team right now, you can’t complain about D-Wade in the Olys. Russ is right, his minutes will be limited but he experience will be priceless.

He still has to make the team you know. And let’s be honest he doesn’t exactly excell in international play cuzz he can’t play against those zones. It was just painfull to watch 2 years ago.

Playing in the Olympics for Wade was like a child walking into a candyshop. Remember Kobe last season?

  • Young Chris #3 Posted: Mar.1 at 7:22 pm
Well this will his most competitive scene for a while, and best chance to win anything the next few years… What else could you expect?

  • alextoledobballlover23 Posted: Mar.2 at 12:50 am

pleaaaseee, shut up you stupid writers from the 2000era slam, slam was hot in ’96 when scoop jackson was still writing, now hoop and dime magazine have much better articles, slam is full of oppionated bull sht, one minute youre showing love to players and the next youre hating on them, your magazine is more like women’s weekly or some other gossip mag. i had enough of slam right now, u fell off

  • Reggie Evans Posted: Mar.2 at 3:45 am
He can add a gold to his bronze.

  • Slobodan Chutzpah Posted: Mar.2 at 7:43 am
Resting up probably would be the smart thing to do, but I still don’t see how this makes him an a**hole. It’s his choice, and I actually think it shows character.

  • Squirrel7 Posted: Mar.3 at 11:58 am
Maybe I’m cynical, but I think everything D-Wade does is for himself, and this is merely him seeking that little bit more exposure. I’m sure the US team can pick someone else who can turn the ball over relentlessly!

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.3 at 3:56 pm
Seriously, he needs to chill out. And for all the NBA marketing employees, its Sqweaky Clean Image + Great Game= NBA Superstar… Not Sqweaky Clean Image + 4.42 turnovers a game= Annoying Wade comercials

  • real Posted: Jun.22 at 4:42 pm
Wade is 3rd best player in team usa! or 2nd.. i dont like kobe… so mutch..

  • real Posted: Jun.22 at 4:43 pm
