The (Humiliating) Return of Karl Malone?

The Mailman could sign with the Red Bull team of the Philippine Basketball Association. Ugh.

    No comments… I love it!

The WWE rubbed off on him too much. In the WWE if you were a star in the 80′s, you never retire. (Hulk Hogan, Rick Flair)

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Feb.29 at 2:10 pm
I hope he wears his draft-day knit tie as a headband.

  • Rasheedionics Posted: Feb.29 at 2:35 pm
May be the fans of oppposing teams can break out “Mail is not delivered on Sunday” signs.. THose were great.

  • Reggie Evans Posted: Feb.29 at 2:37 pm
Do the Mailman hunt for little Filipina girls, too?

  • iLL wiLL Posted: Feb.29 at 2:56 pm
You bet he’s got that on his mind, Reggie Evans

  • sean coon Posted: Feb.29 at 3:03 pm
dude is jonesin’ to ball. he’s earned the right. who cares?

  • G Diesel Posted: Feb.29 at 3:07 pm
Reggie, his wife is Filipina. So the hunt for little Filipina girls was done many years ago.

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Feb.29 at 3:17 pm
first Pippen, now Malone? The ’98 Finals are really, really ages ago when I read about this crap.

  • Skillet Forilla Posted: Feb.29 at 3:30 pm
the money cannot be that good for these leagues… why the hell? does he have some substance/gambling problem we don’t know about?

  • Jonah Lehmann Posted: Feb.29 at 4:29 pm
Karl can’t survive in the NBA he need to stay at home…he sucks!

  • The Tree Posted: Feb.29 at 4:33 pm
Why rip a man for wanted to do what he loves and maybe make some cash? Ruin his legacy? That’s like saying you shouldn’t write anymore since you had a successful run, makes little sense to me.

  • Reggie Evans Posted: Feb.29 at 5:15 pm
@GDiesel – Oh, I think the hunt is still on for Karl.

  • tenorca Posted: Feb.29 at 5:16 pm
Regardless of my vitriol for all things Jazz related, good luck Malone. What’s Tagalog for “elbows to the face”?

  • eyehatedirk Posted: Feb.29 at 5:39 pm
Why is it that former NBA stars and not stiffs do this? Really, I expected this from Felton Spencer or Matt Geiger, but Karl Malone?

  • AB_40 Posted: Feb.29 at 5:52 pm
look dennis rodmann has no money anymore so he needs these you know international trips but karl malone? c’mon now. plus it’s probably just a 5 day tournament and he is still a name to get hoopheads in the philipines to come and see him play

  • Valarie Posted: Feb.29 at 7:17 pm
The question is, can he convince John Stockton to do the same?

  • Edmond Posted: Feb.29 at 10:39 pm
AB_40 I’m a filipino and a red bull fan, while i was reading this, i was shocked. I was kinda surprised. But most of all, I’m looking forward to Karl playing here in the Philippines. And if you don’t know how good Red Bull is, then you are missing something!

  • JG Posted: Feb.29 at 11:03 pm
Yeah! thats my team! im from the philippines!

  • engel Posted: Feb.29 at 11:31 pm
tenorca: its “mga siko sa mukha”

  • B. Long Posted: Mar.1 at 12:44 am
I thought he was gonna coach at La. Tech?

  • hursty Posted: Mar.1 at 12:46 am
is this any worse than scottie pippen in finland or dennis rodman? no, ok then.

  • jiggy Posted: Mar.1 at 10:08 am
    Mabuhay si Karl Malone!!!
I’m a Filipino that doesn’t watch local basketball! Karl could change that!

  • The Notorious King Posted: Mar.1 at 1:55 pm
    i remember his glory days

  • Thomas Posted: Mar.1 at 8:33 pm
Well he does work out in his free time. This happens to all great players, after they retire and spend a few years not playing ball, they want to come back and play competitively.

  • Edmond Posted: Mar.2 at 1:04 am
and for all you guys, the tournament would run about 3-4 months! not 5 days!

  • Jordan Hagedorn Posted: Mar.2 at 3:25 am
This would be like when Johnny Kilroy came around! DO it Mailman! Sure beats the hell out of Wrestling at Bash at the Beach with DDP against Hogan and Rodman. There’s some vintage 1998 info for you cats.

  • Danny Ferry Posted: Mar.2 at 2:55 pm
Haha…the best part of the article is the un-named insider saying it “could” be a publicity stunt

  • Wira Posted: Mar.2 at 7:34 pm
Karl Malone vs Dennis Rodman in the PBA a’la the WCW match they had a decade ago.

  • Hubert Posted: Mar.2 at 10:18 pm
the mere mention of the PBA on slamonline makes me teary-eyed.

  • Robbi Posted: Mar.3 at 4:01 am
Elbows to face: Sikuhin ang mukha.

  • Gloria Arroyo Posted: Mar.6 at 1:16 am
it is not a humiliation factor.. be proud of that. watch out for the PBA Players for the next 2-3 years. Im sure someday they will make a stint in the NBA soon.

  • Arron Posted: Mar.7 at 9:29 pm
Im a Filipino… but i am really disappointed if KArl Malone plays in the PBA.. 1st of all an NBA 50 greatest player playing in the PBA? its just like being demoted from a CEO to assistant desk clerk.. YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME..!! KArl if you read this please stay home and enjoy your legacy….

  • brett Posted: Mar.25 at 3:33 pm
i’m a filipino. PBA sucks!!! it’s not even worth watching. Ang babano ng mga pba player. Top players from PBA weren’t even recognized in the US during their stints in the NCAA
