After playing for one year under the watchful eye of Coach K at Duke University, Corey Maggette began his NBA career in Orlando, where he lasted … one season. No matter, he seems to have liked the place despite the short stay.
As he prepares to dip a toe into the free agency pool, there are rumblings that the man known as Maximus might return to Disney World.
“I think he’d come back in a heartbeat,” said a Maggette friend who is close to both the player and the Magic organization.
“It’s something he’d love to see happen.”
As the article points out, Orlando doesn’t have a boatload of cash to offer the 28-year old forward, but it’s not like he was going to command anything close to top dollar on the market anyhow.
Free Agency officially kicks off tomorrow, kids. Prepare thyselves for rumors galore!
