    Man, that guy is ugly.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    What an idiot.

  • Ken

It looks like brass knuckles on his head. Ech.

  • INGE

I now do understand why Kaman joined this team… so much style between those 2…

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

At least now he has balls…

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

thats a million times worse than odom and boobie’s stars.

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

at least they had a professional do it. before i read the story i noted how sloppy the crop circles were, then it said dirk had the kaveman take clippers(pun intended) to his dome.

  • http://dillanleuyahoo.com Holy Baller

Freakin moron. Stern should fine him a few thousand just for being ugly

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

that just looks like he was defenseless against some clippers that caught him sleepin.

  • underdog

Looks better then Wade without any hair.

  • http://dillanleuyahoo.com Holy Baller

I think it’s close underdog, idk if I could choose a “winner” in this ugly contest.

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

All y’all Dirk “haters”, go finish your homework and get your milk before mum tucks you in at 7.30pm, like the good kids your all are. Dirk rocks. Aus, Ende!

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

As if the so called “king” of b-ball and his cro magnon face are that ravishing to look at. Having said that, the longer hair gives Dirk more flair, but hey, he’s a grown man, AND an MVP (yeah, suck it fellas), so respect the man’s game. Jesus, one would think it was 1939 allover again. Globalization indeed.

  • http://www.mybleedingfingertips.blogspot.com/ Myles Brown

It looks like hes starting his own boy band called 88 degrees.

  • http://kb24.com Bigi

    Dirk,Dirk,Dirk,Dirk…What did you do now…Geeez!

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

great one max airington. dirkslober, 1939?

  • B. Long

This is what happens when you let people put their hands in your on your face during crucial playoff games. Anyone will punk him now.

  • Exile

    @ Ken…. I thought the same thing.

  • Exile

@ Darksaber… Globalization needed indeed… Especially after your Cro-mag statement.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

why does dirk get so much hate for this? i guess he just gets hated on regardless. coz i mean if it’s kobe who did this, people will be saying different things. well, except eboy.
i for one thinks it’s fantastic. but he got nothing on the two kids in the link right below the picture titled “pants-ess xu jing”. go check it out.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

albie, I know you can’t think it looks good. I’d have more respect for the dude if he carved “F*ck the USA” in his skull. Please.

  • Yann Blavec

What would Brian Boitano have done ?

  • h-wag

The guys on the German team first tested the “haircut” on National Team Rookie Tim Ohlbrecht to see if it works somehow, and then they did another 3 players including Dirk. The rest of the team should have the cut until the opening ceremony as I heard.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

eboy, okay i don’t think it looks good, but at least it’s interesting. he’s full of olympic spirit! and i still can’t believe he’ll be the one carrying the Germany flag. i mean, he’s their best athlete?

  • adams

Of course it looks stupid, I bet Dirk knows that. He’s just really proud and happy to be in the Olympics and he’s having fun with it. Why would you hate on an athlete for that? (Also, I wish all of mankind would live together in peace and harmony, but that won’t happen either.)

  • riggs

dude must have a horrible case of ringworms

  • http://dillanleuyahoo.com Holy Baller

Let’s all go out and cut Olympic logos into our hour because that’s “full of Olympic spirit” and we’re “having fun with it”. Give me a break, he looks ridiculous. Grown men should not do stupid things like that.

  • http://dillanleuyahoo.com Holy Baller

Uh hour was supposed to be hair. Don’t know how the hell I typed that. Must be having an off day.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    ^ Sensible and intelligent.

  • Oli

stop hating on dirk showing that he’s happy to finally make it to the olympics. of course it looks stupid, but i bet dirk would be the first one to admit that. although our german team won’t do any damage, they’ll definitely have the best team chemistry, sorry redeem team…

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

^ Wishes his country’s team actually had a chance to medal.

  • underdog

I would have more respect for him if he had a ‘Free Tibet, f*ck communism’ pattern in his hair. That would be straight up.

  • Oli

oh, i almost forgot: @albie: who would you want to carry your nation’s flag? someone who was close to tears after finally fulfilling his biggest dream (dirk) or someone who says that you shouldn’t break with traditions (usually former gold medalists carry our flag) and is angry about an emotional newcomer doing it (some other german candidates)?
    DABEI SEIN IST ALLES!!!

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

@Oli: it’s a big honor/duty for sure to be the flag carrier, but i just thought there are more accomplished/qualified athletes in Germany. but really, i couldn’t care less about ceremonial crap. that’s not directed to Germany, it’s directed to everyone. people may as well get the presidents to carry the flag. either them or some janitors.

  • Oli

albie, i get your point. i guess the ceremony must be fun for the athletes. i mean, standing around for a couple of hours (talking about the greeks who will be, traditionally, the first to enter the stadium) must be exciting!

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

Dirk couldn’t even compose himself to give DSF (german sports tv station) an interview after the team qualified 3 weeks ago against Puerto Rico. THATS how much it meant to the guy to finally make the olympics. So let the man cut whatever he wants into his hair, just bring the bronze home sir. When was the last time any of the so called superduper stars of the NBA wanted anything so bad, they couldn’t hold the emotion back? Only guy who qualifies in my eyes is KG (“you looking good tonight Michelle”, ahhh a classic moment in history)And Kobe tearfully apologizing for his adultery doesn’t count. And before any other of you start trying to play the race card here, i’m an african guy, nigerian, born in London, so EXILE? Don’t give me any lip. Dirk Nowitzki does not deserve the stupid remarks he gets on these pages. For so called b-ball fans, you Dirk-haters sure love to disrespect a unique talent. And to the olympic canoe quacks who are protesting the movement to give Dirk the flag…MAY YOUR LOG WITH A HOLE IN IT FILL UP WITH WATER, DRAGGING YOU TO THE BOTTOM OF THE COURSE. Blöde Gans.

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

As one can see, Dirk-Bashing gets me up in arms. I apologize for losing my cool in that rant, meant every word though. Peace out.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

basketball is for birds. real athletes row canoes.

  • phil

Dirk haters just don’t know whats good. Keep on rockin it my man.

  • Exile

@Darksaber… thanks for the bio. It was brilliant. I don’t disagree with your Dirk comments (as for passion and being a unique talent who deserves to carry his nation’s flag), but sit back and look at the hair cut objectively and it isn’t that good. (re the brass knuckle comparisons).

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

Exile, ashamed as i am to admit it, the haircut sucks. And i got no problem with your comments earlier, just setting the record straight. What angers me are guys saying the man is “ugly” etc. WTF? Is this Vogue online or something?

  • speedy

THIS IS A SYMBOL NOT A FASHION STATEMENT.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

So since he’s got skills on the hardwood we can’t say his hair looks stupid? I don’t care if the guy puts Germany on his back and carries them to gold over Team USA, its a bad haircut. Every time i see a player with a bad haircut i cant help but think, why can’t he afford to pay a pro when he’s a millionaire? If he cared that much he’d want it done right. And even if he does care, this seems like something he did out of boredom or drunkeness than because of patriotism.

  • speedy

    Crazy how guys … I mean guys …are discussing a haircut .
Exile you even defend your opinion … I mean…do you work as a hairstylist.

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

Eh, slow news day i guess…

  • Exile

    @speedy…. point taken…

  • speedy

RV you are the next driving me nuts .
That’s more a sign of being down to earth then being drunk or bored to let that do a teammate instead of throwing cash at a hairstylist.
Shut up and read your fashion magazines.

  • http://whitehoteboysworld.blogspot.com Eboy

Uhm…..if you commented on this piece and you think the rest of the comments were stupid for not being in line with your beliefs, you’re just as stupid. Seriously. If SLAM/Marcel/whoever puts up a topic, it’s meant to be commented on. Period. Until SLAM shuts off the ability to comment (Russ is still counting the days) to keep stupid comments from flying from someone’s fingers, than deal with what you read and join in…or not. Everything here turns into a morality issue. Give that sh*t up, dude’s hair looks like straight dogsh*t, if you can’t see it, then you yourself must have some fuc*ed up folicles yourself. That’s a blanket statement, btw, no one in particular get’s the full brunt of it.

  • speedy

@ RV I couldn’t go to sleep without sending you a link where a ‘starfigaro’ made the rings .
    http://www.kleinezeitung.at/nachrichten/leute/1426201/print.do
    It looks way better.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Sorry.

  • speedy

    @ Big Bad Eboy
FOR YOU A SECOND TIME : IT’S JUST A SYMBOL.
The reason why I commented on this piece was just to maybe make you think about the bullsh*t you are hacking into your desktops if you have to much time.

    Yours sincerly
    Eric

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

I know I never said nothing more than his haircut looked like sh*t, so you must have guilty feelings. I get the symbolism, but I think there was a team in the 92 Olympics who all wore tyed dye shirts and they got good natured sh*t for it and that was a symbol too. Happily yours, Cliff.

  • http://www.friendster.com/sesa Sesa

    Meh

  • speedy

Sorry answer needed a little time . I had to look up ‘tyed dye shirts’ in the dictionary .
I don’t got guilty feelings . But you said he was an idiot for doing his hairs that way .

I’m out like a honey bucket
    Hans

  • ciolkstar

HAHAHAHA. Sorry to any Mavs fans out there but they are one injury away from mssing the playoffs (and I dont mean just Dirk)

  • j-smoov 5

its funny how guys like ron artest do that. but dirk? hahaha :D that’s a whole other story.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

@speedy: you’re right, why throw money (which you have a TON of) at a professional who’s going to make a symbol for you of an event, which supposedly means so much that it brought you to tears, thats going to be cut on your hair, when you can let your fellow teammate (who clearly has troubles with hair himself) do it half-assed so it can look like more a joke than a serious statement…. If you want people to take it seriously then you have to take it seriously yourself first.

  • http://nba.com bbfan

LOL @RV you made me picture Kamen with ur (who clearly has trouble with hair himself) comment

  • Kene

Wow. The Dirk-hate here is ridiculous. What about Dirk, after watching him for almost 10 years now, makes you think that he cares how the haircut looks?? The man could give two farts about style points. That’s his style, and we all know it. Its obviously about the symbolism with him, but I don’t expect a lot of you to get that. You’re the types to worry about whether your laces match your t-shirt while your team is busy losing the game. Bah,…a pox on all your houses.

  • blue

guys – you woreship somebody as “King” who has wings tattooed all over his back.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

    who’s got wings tattoed??

  • backboard

Apropos to nothing, but – Darksaber, if you are nigerian and live in the uk, how come your deutsch ist so verdammt gut? Just wondering..

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

Kene: We’re hating on the guy’s hair. Y’all dirk fans keep bringing up his game. They’re not the same thing. I’m a diehard Rocket’s fan, but i’ve questioned Yao’s cut several times and Tracy and Francis have had their moments too. Learn to be objective.

  • a_whiteman

who cares dirk do you!!!!! the man will lead the tourney in scoring even though they dont have a shot at winning

  • http://www.lkz.ch/basket Darksaber

@backboard, thanks for the interest, but i no longer live in Britain, i now reside in the Swiss Alps (where b-ball coverage is sorely lacking). Guess i am slightly more “global” than even Exile thought earlier on. Oh, by the way, FIBA ANNOUNCED THAT DIRK IS THE FLAG BEARER LATER TODAY. FANTASTIC. (The NBA is sweeping the flags btw., Manu, Sarunas, Yao and AK47? Yueahhh)

  • T4inc

I suspect that this is as close that Dirk will ever get to having any rings.

  • tom

at least it´s not rodman style :)
