    OK, far be it from me to hold America up as a bastion of intelligence and wonder for the rest of the world to behold, but ferchissakes, who the heck are all these kids bagging on Americans for being dumb? Let’s take a look at the maths here: 300 million people live there. Chances are, there will be a whole lot of dumb people with that big of a population. There will also be a large number of tall and athletically gifted young men who can play basketball very, very well. Six hundred of these people will be lucky enough to play for money in a league that is recognised as the world leader in basketball, and earn incredible amounts of money for it. Some people will want a piece of that, and will do strange things like stalk and make bizarre claims about these athletic rich men. This does not make America full of dumb people, it just means that some crazy people live there. Also, some litigious minded people live there, so do some rather stupid people. But, so does Noam Chomsky, so did Kurt Vonnegut, David Foster Wallace, the former members of Sleater-Kinney and the RZA. These are all smart people. So quit with this ignorant america-bashing. It sh!ts me up the freaking wall. Oh, and for the record, I’m Australian, I live in Melbourne and I have no vested interest in America maintaining it’s dominance of world affairs, or, for that matter, basketball. If I see one more comment about dumb people equating to all any country has to offer, I’ll scream, in text form, all over this comments page.
