Annoyed LeBron Defends His Yankee and Cowboy Fandom

“It’s not fun [to be questioned about it]. Am I not allowed to be a fan? When I grew up watching sports, the Cowboys were a team to love; Michael Jordan was [a player] to love. If I say I like Michael Jordan, is that a problem because I didn’t say Mark Price?” James asked. “Is that a problem? Is it? That is who I grew up watching. These are the teams and the people that inspired me. Now I broke it down for you all.”

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.30 at 12:16 pm
I’m annoyed that he’s annoyed about Cleveland fans being annoyed. Annoying.

  • luvshaq Posted: Sep.30 at 12:17 pm
I heard they call LeBron ‘Yankee Cowboy Headband Dude’ in China

  • chris Posted: Sep.30 at 12:17 pm
”Go on the Internet and look at every time I have been asked am I happy in Cleveland and see my response,” James said to the large media gathering. ”I’ve never given any indication that I was leaving or didn’t like being here. Every time I am asked the question — I love being here, I love playing in front of these fans, my family is here, I grew up 30 miles away — I never gave any indication that I did not like playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers.” read the whole article this is the real story

  • Sesa Posted: Sep.30 at 12:19 pm
Did he just said he led Kobe Bryant on Team USA?

  • Bruno Posted: Sep.30 at 12:21 pm
“What can i do if Cleaveland always SUCKED???”
    Lebronha didn’t necessarily add.

  • Keith Posted: Sep.30 at 12:28 pm
Bron has two years left of this kind of speculation and harrassment over things he says and does. He best get used to it.

  • Exile Posted: Sep.30 at 12:36 pm
    @ Sesa… yes…yes he did…. Mamba’s not gonna like that….

  • k.o. Posted: Sep.30 at 12:39 pm
    Ha, co-sign TAD

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.30 at 12:45 pm
I think the bigger problem is that Lebron roots for the Knicks and the Nets instead of the cavaliers.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.30 at 12:49 pm
I’m just pissed at anyone who is a Yankee fan in general after not honoring Joe Torre at the last game in Yankee Stadium. Roger I can kinda understand, but no mention of Joe Torre. Classless.

”The way I look at it is if you can go out and lead guys who are already established and won NBA championships and scoring titles and MVPs and Rookie of the Years, there is nothing else nobody can tell you. I mean, if I can go out and lead Kobe Bryant, then I should be able to go out and lead Daniel Gibson. I see our potential. I see how good we can be.” F*CK YOU LEBOOOOOM … NOBODY GONNA LEAD KOBE BRYANT, BESIDES HIMSELF, F*CK YOURSELF WITH YA DICK…….

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.30 at 2:16 pm
B Long just won me over once again

  • John D Posted: Sep.30 at 3:10 pm
I don’t care what he says, it’s beyond lame to be a Yankees, Cowboys, and Bulls fan.

  • John D Posted: Sep.30 at 3:11 pm
*waits for Jones to come in and defend him*

  • johnk Posted: Sep.30 at 3:17 pm
Did you guys follow the olympics? It was said frequently that ‘bron was a (or even the) leader. http://www.nbcolympics.com/basketball/news/newsid=250956.html Also, overall, he had a much better olympics than kobe.

  • johnk Posted: Sep.30 at 3:18 pm
He would have been like, seven, when the bulls and cowboys were winning chips. Get over it.

  • Tom Posted: Sep.30 at 3:26 pm
Wow, the site is filled with plenty of hate today, between this and Gil’s blog…whats the deal?

  • matt Posted: Sep.30 at 3:31 pm
LEBOOM: I’M AIN’T NO SH*T… ‘me fail english? thats unpossible’

  • matt Posted: Sep.30 at 3:35 pm
you also gotta think that its not just being a front runner. most ppl develop their favourite teams from their cities and their fathers. He lived in Akron, and his father wasnt around. The Bulls were on TV. The Cowboys were on TV. The Yankees were on TV. Its not like youre gonna start cheering for the Rams today, or the Royals. These are the teams in the spotlight that you have the ability to follow and no doubt grow allegiances. If I had no connections to any other teams Idve probably followd the teams that were actually on TV every week. And wow does Missouri suck at pro sports. Thorw in Kansas too for hlaf of KC.

  • Tom Posted: Sep.30 at 3:38 pm
matt:…..why do you think so many foreigners are lakers and bulls fans……god bless’em!

  • The other Mike Posted: Sep.30 at 4:07 pm
Beyond lame to be a Yankees, Cowboys, and Bulls fan?? I might be the biggest Yankees and Cowboys fan out there! But I like the Nets so that makes me unique…haha

  • Candice Posted: Sep.30 at 4:31 pm
I’m a Bulls, White Sox, and Bears fan. Does that make me a lame?

  • Sarah Posted: Sep.30 at 4:41 pm
It’s alright, LeBron. So you’re a bandwagon fan. It happens :)

  • mat smith Posted: Sep.30 at 4:49 pm
yeah, ive supported Sheffield Wednesday all my life, who have continually sucked, here in England if you are a Man utd fan or Chelsea and you were not there from the beginning (in your era of their sucess) you get SO much disrespect, dont know if this is a world wide phenomenon, but the words “band” and “waggon” come to mind, but hey, what does LeBron care?

  • Mike Posted: Sep.30 at 5:02 pm
I am unable to process this sort of information unless somebody tells me who Michael Jordan’s favorite football and baseball teams were/are.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.30 at 6:02 pm
He makes some good points. He gets the brownie points that I took away from him because he likes the Cowboys and Yankees back because I like what he just said.

  • Tdot Posted: Sep.30 at 6:06 pm
So what just cuz he plays BASKETBALL and grew up in a city that means he has to automaticly chear for that team. like seriously have u seen the browns play.

  • The Frozen 1 Posted: Sep.30 at 6:22 pm
Man, who cares about what team Lebron likes? Obviously alot of guys that probably can’t even dribble a basketball. What it comes down to is the fact that here is this millionaire basketball player who roots for a couple of high profile teams that suck. Lebron must be lackin’ a ‘Johnson’.

  • Bonzi4Prez Posted: Sep.30 at 7:32 pm
Yankees suck! Cowboys Suck! Lebron sucks! and above all, Cleveland fans Suck!!

  • Moose Posted: Sep.30 at 7:47 pm
    ^hater^

  • Anton Posted: Sep.30 at 9:11 pm
@johnk: LeBron was the declared leader, Kobe was the undeclared leader.
At the end of the day, nobody could have made that clutch 3-pointer in the 4th quarter. Nobody.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.30 at 11:01 pm
So many fu*king morons. Go listen to your Insane Clown Possy or My Chemical Romance and cry in your rooms. Completely stup8d tarts.

  • Jiggy Posted: Sep.30 at 11:34 pm
That’s right Bron…it ain’t in your contract to love the browns or the indians…

  • ENDS Posted: Oct.1 at 12:53 am
I hated Michael Jordan (Respected his Talent…lets clear that up quick) and always felt like an 8 Foot Chinese Rapper wearing a green and yellow hat for saying that. Even Now people act like “I cant believe you didnt like Jordan” when many people grew up hatin this guy…player & game

  • Love Posted: Oct.1 at 3:10 am
Who cares if he likes other teams in other sports? what does it even matter. his point is 100% correct. He grew up in Ohio and plays for cleveland? is that not enough?

  • Crook Posted: Oct.1 at 10:25 am
#1 Kobe’s pinky was still jacked up during the Olympics #2 Wade actually led that team. #3 James can be a fan of whatever team he wants, it’s not like he is wearing NBA gear of other teams..It’s football and baseball. I have been a Celtics, RedSox, Patriots, Bruins and Alabama Crimson Tide fan for decades. EVEN during the down times but everyone is not like that. Haters chill.

  • Crook Posted: Oct.1 at 10:28 am
Jordan was born in NY and went to school in the Carolinas so he is probably a NY fan in either baseball or football unless he is a southerner at heart and went with the Falcons and Hawks. He was so politically correct he probably only wore Bulls gear (not even Bears or Whitesox gear.)

  • chintao Posted: Oct.7 at 5:15 am
Jordan has transcended fandom with his gamble-holism. With respect to LeBron, the man’s choices are symptomatic of a lack of character. Bulls, Cowboys, Yankees form the Bermuda Triangle of character. Anybody who chooses those three is just a part of The Borg.
