Gerald Green’s Struggle

Mr. Cupcake is doing all he can to stick with the Mavs, and discussed his rather curious pregame meal: An arena hot dog, with ketchup….”It was a Snickers and a Coke in high school, but candy will mess up your teeth.”

He really should invest in a personal chef, like what Kevin Love is doing.

  • Cooper Posted: Oct.16 at 10:48 am
He should just eat chicken nuggets. It worked for Usain Bolt.

If Devean George gets more burn than Green, I’ll burn the AA Center to the ground.

  • jay Posted: Oct.16 at 10:53 am
dammit…green is wasting talent…and our patience!

  • Tombomb Posted: Oct.16 at 10:55 am
This doesnt make sense! How many bums get regular burn and Gerald cant get anything but low minutes in a preseason game……..Is no one willing to give him a more legit chance?

  • riggs Posted: Oct.16 at 11:07 am
mmmm chicken nuggets thank god lunch break is an hour away…

  • josesito Posted: Oct.16 at 11:08 am
im hoping someone goes down for a while (devean) so he can get more minutes. I think he’s a good pick up…sort of…at least makes the games potentially more exciting

  • niQ Posted: Oct.16 at 11:09 am
he should eat philly cheesesteaks so he can be like kobe.

  • slamfan4life Posted: Oct.16 at 12:54 pm
say what u want but this guy can str8 up ball man, he def can be a star

  • Z Posted: Oct.16 at 1:10 pm
Ball as in play basketball? You jest, I’m sure. Dude has NO CLUE, none.

  • RV Posted: Oct.16 at 1:12 pm
the guy can straight up DUNK. Unfortunately he’s caught with that label and he’s in a cycle he can’t get out of. He comes on to a team saying he’s gonna show he’s more than a dunker, but then when he gets PT he doesn’t have any moves or other talents to bring to the table, so he ends up running ahead on fast breaks or making back door cuts to get alley-oop opportunities. so he goes right back to being just a dunker…

  • BETCATS Posted: Oct.16 at 1:22 pm
Gerald Green = Dee Brown (celtics), Small Forward edtion. Or at least that is what they want you to belive. Gerald has all the tools to be a starting small forward, but for some reason, since he can dunk better than he can shoot, people decide he is just a dunker. Just because dunking is the skill he is best at does not mean he is ‘just a dunker’. If somebody gave this man some burn he would be proving you guys wrong and would make all your ‘fantasy’ teams plus all the petty sh!t with the bandwagon jumpers and cult-jersey buyers.

  • Z Posted: Oct.16 at 1:56 pm
BETCATS, tools are useless if you don’t know how to play. His hops are phenomenal, he’s quite agile, the form on his jumper is on point, I’m not sure about his handles but there’s nothing negative that jumped out to me… BUT he doesn’t know how to play.

  • what Posted: Oct.16 at 1:56 pm
At this point even Andrew Bynum could give him dietary advice and it would be an improvement.

  • John D Posted: Oct.16 at 2:09 pm
^ Bynum is ripped now. I don’t think he’s hitting up Quizno’s anymore.

  • RV Posted: Oct.16 at 2:11 pm
BET, read my previous comment…he’s had opportunities, when he was here in houston that’s all he did. He would run around pointing to the rim looking for an alley or pass to dunk. If that’s how he acts in practice, then i can see why teams don’t give him more minutes.

  • RV Posted: Oct.16 at 2:14 pm
Bynum is NOT ripped, i hope i dont hear anyone else say he is. He put on muscle, but ripped means you are cut, low body fat, and although he isn’t fat, he’s not ripped either. He could have gained that muscle eating at Mcdonalds every day. Sorry to rant, but i was a kin/health major and it gets on my nerves..

  • B. Long Posted: Oct.16 at 2:18 pm
Bynum ate weights for breakfast, lunch , and dinner this offseason. And those spin moves and short fade away jumpers he’s been hitting are getting my hopes dangerously high for this young man.

  • Jay Posted: Oct.16 at 2:37 pm
    who ordered the foot long?

  • mike Posted: Oct.16 at 5:44 pm
Gerald is actually a really good shooter. He seems to have all the skills offensively, but defensively, he struggles.

  • Yknot Posted: Oct.16 at 6:57 pm
Lets see great hops, decent shot, no defense, is it the new millenium Vince Carter? Somebody call Freddy Weiss just to make sure.

  • Moose Posted: Oct.16 at 7:11 pm
Ha! Green can still dunk, though, so i guess it’s ok.

  • JackBrown Posted: Oct.16 at 7:45 pm
@Jay, a Dumb & Dumber reference? If so, bravo to you.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Oct.16 at 8:56 pm
You know how many high school All-American can’t-miss types miss? Ryan could probably tell you even better than I can, but it’s a lot. Remember Winfred Walton? Lester Earl? Dontonio Wingfield? Corey Benjamin? JaRon Rush? James White? Even Felipe Lopez. Gerald Green might never get it figured out. For his game’s sake, he probably should have gone to college. But at least if he’s smart with his money, he should be set for life.

  • RV Posted: Oct.16 at 11:11 pm
Paying $10 for a hot dog 82 times a year + playoffs and preseason is definitely not smart

  • JackBrown Posted: Oct.16 at 11:20 pm
    COREY BENJAMIN REFERENCE!

James White…. he of the 100 point game! Dude was the 15th man on the Spurs last I heard.

  • Hursty Posted: Oct.17 at 6:16 am
    Or not actually.

  • rikson Posted: Oct.17 at 10:36 am
its risky, but give him a chance… gerald has huge potential!
