Greg Oden’s Solid Debut

Last night, Oden and Rudy Fernadez gave Blazers fans reason to be even more excited for the upcoming season.

LeMarcus and Grampa Oden on the court at the same time should strike fear into the hearts of the west.

I can’t wait to see this team play this season. They’ve put their past behind them and I’m really happy for Nate.

Darn Dynastys based off years of sucking and getting Lottery Picks.

I hope Oden keeps growing that beard. I guarantee you no one would drive in on the blazers when their center looks like a 7 foot tall kimbo slice.

hey that fernandez guy can pass pretty good apparently.

I read J.A. adande’s article about it, and he sounded like a hater…

Oden’s on my fantasy team, if he keeps this up, I see ROY . . .

Adande is a hater as long as he isn’t s*cking swollen Laker n*ts, it was a good debut for someone not even is true playing shape yet and once the team gels under Nate they’ll be a definite contender

watched the whole game last night. the blazers started out slow with jitters and were down by double digits to the kings. then in the middle of 2nd quarter, something snapped. the blazers went on a rediculous run. oden was a beast. he pwned spencer hawes and mikki moore, then again, i would too. but he made it look easy. yes he’s pretty slow moving up and down the court and looks confused on defense sometimes but he’s going to be there when his conditioning catches up. and rudy?? my god, not only is he a great athlete, but he’s got vision. this blazer team will be fun to watch this year and next year will be a domination force.

Oh and Spencer Hawes looks like an uglier version of Michael Phelps.

Oden is HUGE. When he was in college he was built like David Robinson; now he looks like just a big bulky monster. He didn’t look as explosive as we last saw him; maybe he’ll get that back, maybe he won’t. But he showed some Shaq-ness last night with how overmatched and outsized everybody else looked, and he showed at least one Shaq-esque post move (the drop step and one-handed dunk.) Don’t know how healthy he’s ever gonna stay, but when he’s on the court, the guy’s going to be a DOMINANT player. You can tell.

The Quizno Kid would be wise to study how this kid plays defense.

blazers lookin gd 4 the new season

I was at the game last night. I’m still trying to regain control over my emotions following what was a near transcendental experience. Rudy was killing. Bayless can lock em up. Oden is Oden. Even Batum threw one down with authority, and didn’t look entirely out of place on defense. Granted, this was Sacramento without Martin or Miller, but still. Oh my God. I’ve been waiting for this since the second grade (1989).

@ joe a: players would love to drive on oden if he looks like kimbo nowadays. you seen the way he lost last saturday? KTFO’d by a guy 30 pounds smaller than him in 14 seconds

Come on…A blow out against the Kings?? THis will happen about 20 times this season. THis was nothing special and if the Kings had ONE all star on that team then they would have kept this thing real close. Oden can’t run and that will limit his effectiveness totally. He’ll get injured before the ALL STAR Break.
