Michael Curry Sees Tayshaun Prince Going to Phoenix in February

“We expect … I expect Tay to be an All-Star,” Curry said. “I actually do. I expect him to be an All-Star because he’s played at that level and I think by taking Dice (Antonio McDyess) out of the starting lineup, that puts more things to be run for Tay and one less guy to worry about getting shots for in the starting unit.”

I hope he becomes an all-star some day. There are lots of good small forwards in the East now though, with LeBron, Shawn Marion, etc. At least Prince has that Gold medal though.

he’s an all-star in my opinion.

Me and Michael Curry expect the same thing.

    • Eboy Posted: Oct.27 at 11:00 am
TAD and Michael Curry apparantley no little of the rest of the SF’s in the East.

Tayshaun is frustrating to watch. Not because he’s bad ( I actually like his game), but because people forget he’s left handed. Every single time a skilled lefty like Tay or Manu starts to drive, i want to shout at my TV “HE’S GOING LEFT”, and every single time, because of some subconscious hard-wired programming or unthinking reaction, the defender bites on a cross or a jab step and ends up miserably out of position overplaying his man’s weak(right) hand as he trots to the basket and lays it in with the left. Has anyone else noticed this?

The only way this happens is if Lebron, Vince, Pierce, Lewis, Turkoglu, Marion, Josh Smith, Danny Granger, and Jamison all spontaneously combust. And unless they all begin side careers as drummers, I don’t see that happening.

So McDyess was taking to many shots? McDyess was ball-hogging? That Doesn’t sound right.

    • TADOne Posted: Oct.27 at 11:17 am
I expect it E, I didn’t say it would happen.

The Pistons play the Suns in Febuary?

    • Nate J. (P-town) Posted: Oct.27 at 11:57 am
he should go to portland, they need a sf.

    • TADOne Posted: Oct.27 at 12:06 pm
Hey B, how is that Odom fella working out for you?

    • Los Man Posted: Oct.27 at 12:16 pm
He should just play in Phoenix period. Shaq for Prince, straight up.

    • albie1kenobi Posted: Oct.27 at 12:29 pm
i thought the headline meant he’d be traded to the suns before the deadline. how misguided i am.

    • Yknot Posted: Oct.27 at 12:42 pm
@Nick I noticed the lefty free layups. That’s why Beasley is gonna kill this year.

    • Jukai Posted: Oct.27 at 12:57 pm
Fantastic headline, it took me a while to get it, but I laughed hard when I did.

    • jaywhy Posted: Oct.27 at 2:06 pm
tsk… and i thot he was gonna get traded or something… =.=

    • underdog Posted: Oct.27 at 2:46 pm
I like Prince, but for some reason I think he was more efficient in 2003 than in the last year.

    • Los Man Posted: Oct.27 at 3:10 pm
Im glad im not the only one that thought there was a trade on the horizon. So disappointed.

    • what Posted: Oct.27 at 5:54 pm
What Bryant Reeves said. Throw in Caron Butler too.

    • $tev3 Posted: Oct.27 at 7:30 pm
I TH0UGHT WE WERE TALKIN TRADES N0T ALL STAR SELECTIONS BUT THEN AGAIN WHAT D0 I KN0W?

    • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Oct.27 at 9:19 pm
Prince deserves to be an All-Star. He was always the most underrated out of the Pistons fab five. Send this guy to Phoenix!

    • Yknot Posted: Oct.27 at 9:22 pm
Send him to an all you can eat buffet.

    • jt wallace Posted: Oct.27 at 11:24 pm
pheonix mite hav sum defense wit price

    • Dacre Posted: Oct.28 at 12:09 am
I thought this was a ‘crystal ball-trade scenario” piece….thats the only way Tay is getting to PHX this year (imo). I’d go after him in exchange for m. barnes and/or a.tucker

    • KA Posted: Oct.28 at 1:05 am
i think i rate this guy too high. i love his game.

    • Patrick Posted: Oct.28 at 2:03 am
Considering that a lot of guys in the L do it with just/mostly one Right hand… think about how tough it is to stop someone coming at you the opposite way. At least from my experience playing with lefties. Imagine left handed Chris Paul!

    • Dacre Posted: Oct.28 at 9:54 pm
I shut down lefties all the time…they are driving to your right hand…?!
