Nate Robinson, the Broke Man’s Steve Nash

“I watched how he moves and everything, where guys are supposed to be,” Nate said. “Like, Steve Nash can literally make every pass with his eyes closed because he knows exactly where that guy is supposed to be. I’m trying to get to that point, but I’m a long way.”

I don’t see Nate becoming the next Steve Nash no matter how hard he tries

  • MENDEL

yeah, that means he’s number 11 in the slam top 50 players

  • MENDEL

Iverson no. 18 get the phuck outta here and shut this site down. Yeah Gil is much better considering how often he’s seen the court over the last year.

    No sh*t.

  • MBE18

MENDEL, I agree with you 110%. What a JOKE!!!

Tell me something I don’t already know, Nate! Far, far away!

  • j

I wonder what his definition of long way off is versus my definition of it.

  • underdog

I’d love to see Nash on the dunk contest though.

it helps when the other players actually know where they’re going which i doubt the knicks do

    Gotta love Nasty Nate.

  • chris

With his court vision, Nate might as well play with his eyes closed

  • LA Huey

Nate isn’t even the same type of player. It’d be the single greatest feat in basketball (maybe even world) history if Nate becomes the type (nevermind caliber) of player Nash is.

  • Boing Dynasty

i would have went with “retared mans steve nash” but yours is okay too.

  • Boing Dynasty

    retarded* even.

  • tinchek

yeah and steve nash’s gonna beat iguodala in the slam dunk contest.

Jokes aside, I can’t really knock Nate for realizing that as a 5-9 guy, his best best to extend his career is to actually become a 1. I’d be mad if he DID NOT strive to be like Nash.

He also never says anywhere that he WILL become Steve Nash. He admits that he’s a long ways off. If anything, this was an incredibly respectable statement.
    So, co-sign Z.

His shot selection will have to improve as much as his court vision. Nash in an imperfect system for him shot about 47%, so thats what Nate will have to do. That means the scoring comes when you’re wide open as opposed to challenging players. Good luck to him though, there’s nothing better than a player using his physical gifts with his skills to make his team better. As Nash said, if everyone who played the game tried as hard as me, I wouldn’t be in the league.

more like the homeless mans steve nash

  • http://www.triplejunearthed/dacre Dacre

As Nash said…If everyone who tried as hard as me….THERE WOULDN’T BE A LEAGUE…Most everyone would be playing NBALive…!?
    O_o

Maybe Nate can have a rebirth in his career a la Nash in Dallas. I mean, who would have thought Nash would win 2 MVPs, let alone get to an all-star game, before he was in Dallas or Phoenix? I didn’t like Nash’s game that much until Phoenix (but maybe it was the hair).

  • http://www.triplejunearthed/dacre Dacre

nash was awesome in dallas…and phoenix for that matter (as a rookie..) – same court vision and excellent ball handler.

  • Ozier

Yeah, and the Knicks will win 50 games and make the playoffs…. Please Nate no Steve Nash comparisons…..You will be a more valuable player scoring and pushing the ball….

i love the fact dude can be like ‘damn i wanna be like that guy, honky can ball’. also, id extend homeless guy status to homeless guy who’d suck dick for crack steve nash.

“Nate Robinson, the Inbred Bulimic Retarded Man’s Steve Nash” – That’s about right. MyKal does in no way endorse what is written in any of his comments.

  • http://mykal1.blogspot.com/ ♦MyKal♠

In all honesty Nasty Nate was on point (don’t pardon the pun) about his statement. I hope he does well with it (except when he plays the Sixers).

I’m listening to NightSwimming by R.E.M. right now….how about your sweet little self…

NATE ROBINSON IS A STEVE NASH-WANNABE…(same..)

    ^_^

  • jay

    Nashty Nate in your area….

  • Bringthanoize

Never under-estimate Nate, truss, time will tell how good he eventually will become.

He should end up starting in coach D’s system, Duhon isn’t starter material in that type of style.

Nate & Jamal should be starting in the back court if Marbury is going to be benched.

  • chintao

Nate seems to have alot of desire, and that can overcome alot of issues. I wouldn’t put it past the kid to become a serious star in the L. At the bottom of the link, does anyone have anything to say about a healthy Gallinari? For instance, will the guy EVER be healthy? I’m not sure that there has ever been a player who has returned to be 100% after a back injury. Maybe someone else has an example?
