Sam Mitchell Sees KG When Chris Bosh … Practices

Chris Bosh has done nothing but impress over the last few years. He’s made All-Star teams, appeared in the Playoffs, and even won an Olympic Gold Medal this past summer. All of this, of course, has caught the attention of his hard-to-please head coach, Sam Mitchell.

These days, Mitchell is offering his star forward the highest possible compliment. He sees a former teammate of his when watching Bosh battling day in and day out.

From the Toronto Sun:

“I used to tell him all the time: The difference between Kevin Garnett and 98% of the rest of the league is that Kevin plays like he practises,” Mitchell said. “Chris is getting that. I think that light came on. If you want to be better than just an all-star and take this team to another level, you have to be more like that and he has done that.”

“(Bosh’s) practices now are unbelievable,” Mitchell gushed. “In the past, Chris would come in and, not go through the motions, but do just enough. Now, every possession, every play is 100% all out.”

To which Allen Iverson replied: You must be out of your damn mind.

    Pity KG didn’t play with Team USA, cuz Bosh could’ve used the guidance. I always saw Bosh as a young KG, what with the crazed look in his eyes and the intense style of play. This season should be interesting

    I’m not saying Bosh is as good as KG, but Marcel wasn’t the first person to compare two lanky, intense, versatile, two-way all-stars.

    Vince Carter was also heavily compared to MJ… Any coach or media analyst can pick out a similar trait and spin it to make a player seem destined for greatness.

    I am proud to be a Raptor fan mostly because of Chris Bosh…he continues to improve his game…and as all of you can see he can play with the best players in the world and still hold his own ground ie: Olympics…he doesn’t show his emotions like KG…but very few do….I think most people even forgot he was drafted with Lebron, Melo and Wade. Once Bosh develops his post up game he will definately look alot like KG.
