When news of Isiah Thomas’s overdose from sleeping pills broke on Friday, you just knew things would get a lot worse before they got better. Even though all signs pointed to him being the one who was hospitalized, the former Knicks coach told reporters that it was his daughter who required medical attention.
This, evidently, did not sit well with the police. When reached for comment in regards to Isiah’s claim, David Hall, the Harrison Police Chief, did not mince words.
“My cops … know the difference between a 47-year-old black male and a young black female,” Hall said. “It wasn’t his daughter – and why they’re throwing her under the bus is beyond my ability to understand.”
As though perhaps he was worried that his name wouldn’t make the papers, Hall then compared Zeke to Nixon:
“These people should learn something from Richard Nixon – it’s not the crime, it’s the coverup.”
Beautiful. You stay classy, David Hall.
And because this story couldn’t get any more bizarre, Isiah’s son told the NY Daily News that his father should be back on the job (whatever that is) today. As always, stay tuned…
