Carmelo Apparently Takes Video Games Seriously

This EA Sports spot is clearly contrived, but it’s worth asking: What’s the most you’ve put on the outcome of a video game?

  • littleshotlarry Posted: Nov.7 at 12:09 pm
I bet “favors” with the Mrs. …TMI

  • RV Posted: Nov.7 at 12:17 pm
its clear the mrs didn’t prefer the long hair, i’d cut it for her over a video game…so much for that story about ‘melo cutting his hair to start a new era of his career

  • Allenp Posted: Nov.7 at 12:33 pm
He really does look a lot younger.
    How would Iverson look?
And who the hell still plays basketball games on Press view?
You have to go baseline low.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Nov.7 at 1:47 pm
Yo, the most I ever bet on a video game? This is a great story, you guys won’t believe this: One time a couple years ago oh wait I don’t play video games because they’re a complete soul-sucking waste of time go read a book.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Nov.7 at 1:48 pm
Allenp: Iverson would look like this:
    images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.nba.com/media/iverson_400_white_96.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.nba.com/gallery/iverson_400_white_96.html&h=500&w=400&sz=64&hl=en&start=2&sig2=ScNd0q0pzOuk7d3HLyFJfg&usg=___v5wVp1K20Ps7TXv7duD3Ws7zFE=&tbnid=5wOtIijO3wW86M:&tbnh=130&tbnw=104&ei=aI0USaLnCKDAeqDzkbAH&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dallen%2Biverson%2B1996%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

    Ryan
I’ve seen him when he was a youngster without the rows. I’m wondering how many years it would take off him now as an old vet.
And video games are wonderful. People who don’t play video games don’t love life.

  • Eboy Posted: Nov.7 at 3:14 pm
Little known fact: Ryan Jones was the originator of the first home video game system, Pong, back in 1976 as a toddler prodigy. To date he is also credited as the inspiration for the character Stick Figure in the Sonic games series.

  • Double R Posted: Nov.7 at 3:17 pm
Ryan Jones doesn’t play video games because he doesn’t own a house or a tv, he lives at the school. That’s why he is so attached to LeBron, he needs money. So is this where Myles Brown got the “if you scared say you scared line from?” Speaking of Myles where did the Max Arrington name come from? If you answered that question before on here a thousand pardons.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Nov.7 at 4:09 pm
I get Eboy’s joke, and it’s hilarious, but there’s nothing funny about me living in a Dumpster behind an elementary school.
As for Myles, I think he plucked that line from the hip-hop cultural ether, where it has floated for many, many years.
Oh, and Max Airington is his real name. “Myles Brown” is some bullsh*t black power nom de keyboard he made up to show his opposition to The Man, or something. Anyone who’s ever owned a pair of Nikes should know that.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Nov.7 at 4:09 pm
    Dummy.

  • Double R Posted: Nov.7 at 4:40 pm
    Duly noted Ryan.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Nov.7 at 5:15 pm
I won two pairs of kicks on a Jenga game last week… And a video game off a Tetris score. I’ll bet anything, haha

  • Nick Fleming Posted: Nov.7 at 7:25 pm
I can’t believe the Nuggets held the Rockets to 60. Carmelo got D!

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Nov.7 at 7:38 pm
    LMAO @ Nick

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Nov.7 at 7:39 pm
I bet EA Sports paid Melo at least $ 1 Million to cut his hair off. Probably even more.

  • Jacob Posted: Nov.7 at 10:21 pm
    nice hair there ‘melo

  • Hursty Posted: Nov.7 at 11:11 pm
Baseline low is the way to go Allenp.

  • underdog Posted: Nov.8 at 12:02 pm
See Melo, that’s why you should play 2k9.

  • I am the walrus Posted: Nov.8 at 10:01 pm
2k9 is better than live 09

  • Raps4Life Posted: Nov.9 at 3:43 pm
This bet just happened to be going on with the camera rolling(wink, wink)

  • chintao Posted: Nov.10 at 12:42 am
We used to play Madden for a slab of ribs, a half a bbq chicken, and a 2-liter of orange soda.
