Derrick Rose Injured His Back Against Atlanta

Rose pulled a muscle in his back during the first quarter last night but didn’t want to leave the game. Rose played 40+ minutes again… Vinny Del Negro should be careful not to run the future All-Star into the ground.

If Rose gets injured, the Bulls will be in for a LONG season.

that sucks, this kid is definitely special. He looks more polished than I thought. Also, sometimes a guy looks faster/stronger, etc.. in college then sort of blends in when he gets to the L, Rose is not that guy. Kid can wreck. But Vinny Del Negro is a bad look. Seriously.

He probably injured it on one of those uncontested layups he kept getting after he beat his initial defender.

Del Negro better not run him into the ground. I’m all for him having stats since he’s on my fantasy team but I don’t want to see him keep playing 40+ minutes so early in the season.

The Bulls are in for a long season regardless.

TADOne isn’t the season the same length for everyone? and why would the league make it longer if Rose got injured. hoohoo!!

Rose hurt his back and still dropped 27. What’s Deng’s excuse?

    • B. Long Posted: Nov.12 at 11:32 am
^It’s Ben Gordon and Vinny’s fault.

    • Allenp Posted: Nov.12 at 11:37 am
Ben Gordon actually looks fine with Rose. Deng is the problem. He seems to struggle to get his points with the limited number of looks available.
And when the hell are Noah and Thomas going to develop? For real, that Lamarcus Aldridge deal looks worse and worse by the day. Don’t even mention signing Ben Wallace.

How old 19 or 20, i use 2 get hurt 4 or five times a day at that age. BBall is physical especialy at the highest level availble U will get hurt. Let’s pray that he does’t sustain any major injuries.

Tyrus just turned 22 in August. I’m not terribly worried about him yet. And Noah’s only 23. I still think Tyrus is gonna be a player.

    • TADOne Posted: Nov.12 at 12:25 pm
You see something I don’t. I know he is young, but Tyrus just LOOKS overmatched on the court. Reminds me of Stromile Swift.

    • Tommy Patron Posted: Nov.12 at 1:42 pm
Russ, you may be right about Tyrus, but Aldridge is ALREADY a player. If we’re lucky, Thomas will be as good.

    • Diesel Posted: Nov.12 at 1:58 pm
Thomas is pulling a vince carter and trying to be known for more than just dunking so he keeps taking that top of the key jumper from the elbow instead of driving the lane and getting the bucket or foul.

    • Tommy Patron Posted: Nov.12 at 2:04 pm
TT doesn’t have the ability to “drive the lane”. He can run at the basket and dunk, if no one is in the way. But, drive the lane? No.

they should fire del negro and hire tom thibedeau

    • Moose Posted: Nov.12 at 3:28 pm
He’ll be all right, but they shouldn’t be playing him 40+ minutes.

    • slamfan4life Posted: Nov.12 at 5:21 pm
rose will be fine, hes got incredible stamina and should be back on thurs

    • ballinpro24 Posted: Nov.12 at 5:47 pm
even though the bulls are in trouble, there is no need to play rose and exhaust him. The NBA Season is a long 81 games. You can’t expect Rose to play 40+ min injured. You can’t afford that. Let him play 30-35 min and het proper treatment. Better to have him play some mins than none at all

I would make some lame joke about Rose carrying the bulls on his back causing the injury, but then I realized that isn’t entirely accurate. It’s more like he’s dragging plague-ridden corpses.

*laughs at plague-ridden joke* - Could this be the first sign of leprosy in the NBA…maybe not…Eddie Curry is still hanging on.

Like I tell everybody, the Bulls threw money in the river by giving Deng that big contract. In the Atlanta game, this dude turned the ball over twice in consecutive possessions. He’s a fraud, the Bulls hopefully know that now. If anything, get rid of him. Too overhyped; the media had a field day telling the country Deng was so good and has so much potential. Yeah right. And then they get cheap and don’t wanna pay Gordon. If Gordon averages at least 22/3/4, some team will pay him the money he wants, and the Bulls will be left with nothing. Man, Paxson has really screwed up these past years. Check his history (giving away Tyson Chandler, overpaying Ben Wallace, trading away Aldridge for Thomas, signing Nocioni for too much, not dealing Hinrich over the summer, signing Deng for wayyy too much, not signing Gordon, trading for Larry Hughes, list goes on and on). I just had to let out this steam, I’m so frustrated seeing Noah and Thomas not do anything but get schooled by other big men.
