Greg Oden May Return Tonight

Jason Quick says G.O. looks good to go against the Heat, but don’t be surprised if he has six more injuries by halftime.

I wanna see him play a full game! arghhhh

  • BigWalt206

I’m going out on a limb here, Papa O plays all the way through this game (without suffering a serious injury)…and records his 1st NBA point.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Its the least he could do considering all of their games are nationally televised because of him. Seriously, I know there is a lot of promise in the Blazers team, but they’ve been on tv waaay too much already… It seems like it anyway.

  • Michael Lee

Please for the love of God Oden don’t get hurt

Great news! Good luck, young fella.

    Third time’s a charm, hoss.

I can’t get sick of the Blazers on national TV because I love Roy, Aldridge, and Fernandez.

  • riggs

its not his fault that he gets injured, also Co how u not gonna love roys heroics these last few games?

  • Ballinpro24

I wonder who was the better first round draft pick???… Durant of Oden???

  • awesomepossum

do we hold our breath or do we not?

  • rainman10

I would say Roy and Aldridge are better 1st round picks than Oden/Durant

    God bless you…young fella

    Marcus Camby 2.0

  • http://www.toronto.com Mr. 416

He better get down to the nearest Kinko’s and wrap himself in bubblewrap. He’s so fragile I mean he already looks like someone grandpa does he have the brittle bones to go along with it >

  • ciolkstar

I gotta admit I’m worried for this guy. He just doesn’t seem like a natural athelete, and I’m not sure he’ll ever be able to take the pounding of a long season. I hope I’m wrong though.

  • ciolkstar

I really dont even think Oden will be as god as Camby. Camby was awesome in college (plus he could run), he almost led a weak UMass team to the chip and went head to head with Duncanand held his own. Also, he was never so big and lumbering and Camby injuries all cam later in his career. Plus the whole “one leg longer than the other” thing is a MAJOR red flag.

  • ciolkstar

Durant is in a terrible situation, I hope for his sake he gets to play for a winner. LaMarcus has really been impressing me though, I used to see him at my bus stop on UT campus. He always seemed like a cool guy, pretty quite though. Big guys who can shoot ALWAYS have along shelf life.

  • niQ

let’s see this domination that we have yet to see.

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

haha, i got to see him play in person, tho it was preseason. ps, his offense sucks, way worse than dwights

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Riggs I adore the Portland backcourt, but seriously there needs to be some sort of balance with these nationally televised games. We get the same 12 teams playing each other week after week.

  • Breeze

i agree Coco…but as for ogden i think hes gonna be like a mixture between jaleel white and the mannn kwame bad news brown..the blazers are better off without him…well we will see..

  • witness

greg oden needs to play to prove his haters wrong.

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogpsot.com Hursty

Fernandez is good and all, I just wish he’d bulk up a little.

  • http://slamonline.com Josh D

$500 says he’ll get injured in the first 5 minutes!

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ Moose

Dude seems like he’s made of paper. Let’s see how he does.

  • Dilf

you guys are turible. just cuz oden is 50, show some respect for the elders.

  • Diggy

Great news for the big fella. Even better to watch DWade and BRoy matchup. Get your popcorn ready…

“I wonder who was the better first round draft pick???… Durant of Oden??? ”

The correct answer is Al Horford.

  • Dale Wittig

At first glance I thought it said Greg Oden May Retire Tonight.

  • ciolkstar

    That might happen too, Dale.
regardless, I just don’t see him enjoying the longevity (nevermind the success)of a Shaq, Hakeem, D Rob, Pat Ewing etc…Those guys all looked like atheletes when they were young. Oden looks like a grizzled vet, and not in a good way. His Offensive game is extremely limited as well.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ Double R

One should not joke about injuries especially since people from this website criticized ESPN flippantly talking about KG breaking his leg.

  • Sigh

We’ve seen the guy play for 2:14 and we’re already calling for retirement. Let’s give him some time peeps.

    Michael Lee says:

I prefer the nickname “Ol’ Greg” over “God Oden”. This guy was a waste of a pick….its the 2009 Darko…

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

I think Sternbot needs to bring in carbon dating so we can see how old this man really is… I’m thinking about 36 or so…

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

…one dunk. I dont want to sound like a hater….but I am one.

  • Daleo

Kwame Brown version 2. At least Kwame took the floor

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

I’m giving this guy till the all-star break to show me he is not going to be even more irrelevant than Sam Bowie was when drafted by the Blazers.
