Garnett has built a soccer field in the backyard of one of his homes, and plans to attend the World Cup in South Africa.

…less than basketball, u meant, Anton
which team does KG supports? anyone?
Damn, KG would be an INCREDIBLE goalkeeper with his pterodactyle wingspan, reflexes, mobility and desire!
possum – the article says KG likes Chelsea and wants to play like Drogba.
KG supports brazil
I think one of the Slam guys must have turned KG on to this. My best guess is either Lang or Ryan.
it’a almost as boring as hockey
I heard he modeled his choking skills after Cristiano Ronaldo. Sadly, both succeeded last season anyway.
KG supports Chelsea, Football(I’m English) isn’
t all that bad to play just boring as hell to watch
I was in Vienna (Wien) this past summer and I couldn’t believe the passion in the European soccer fans. I’m hoping to help create a similar feeling in basketball throughout the world. This past Olympics definitely brought out some of the spirit.
Soccer highlights are dope. But unless they’re epic, the actual games are boring.
wow. some buffoons here. Soccer is great fun to watch.
Garnett said. “I just want the liberty of not only passing the ball but also the liberty of shooting the ball, or at least trying to be a striker.”
but declined because he does not want to play goalkeeper…..(kg then didnt say, im only 6 11)dude is 7 1 at least
Garnett became a soccer fan through watching YouTube images of freestyle players, adopting Brazilian star Ronaldinho among his favorites.
“It takes me half an hour to get to a Patriots game and it took 3 1/2 hours to get to the Brazil-Mexico game. Next time, I’m taking a helicopter.”
“I’ve never been to Africa and [longtime NBA center] Dikembe Mutombo wants to get me over there, but I just haven’t had the time,” Garnett said. “I definitely want to go to the World Cup. So, I’ll probably go to Cape Town, make a trip there first to see what I’m in for.”( i want to see kg and deke wandering around africa)
Just focus on repeating Ticket..
shame that kg supports chelsea, but hey can’t have it all. saw him hugging drogba after the london game last season, where drogba decided to listen to his iPod during the game
KG supports chelsea. there was a video of him gettin a chelsea top with Garnett on the back with 5.
KG and I have talked soccer many times. He became a soccer fan thru playing FIFA, actually.
F-ck soccer. Obama 08
To all you guys hating on soccer: The sh!t’s good. I play, it truly is a great game. Wake up, y’all.
I wonder if KG and TD duke it out on the PS3, who would win in what games.
Its good that athletes are intrested in not only thier sport but other sports too.
bball fans got nuthin on soccer fans. no lame jumbotrons and cheerleaders required.
@ Nguni: Are you kidding? Please tell me you’re kidding. You are kidding.
Basketball is the real “beautiful game”. Its also the “holy game”.
@ KA: You can shut up too.
Soccer is actually a pretty nice game, but its really incomparable to basketball and even American football, in my opinion. As good as it is, it might just be the most overrated sport ever.
stfu teddy. what other sports have national holidays when they win a world cup? i prefer bball than soccer (thats why im here) but soccer > bball. much less american football. watch a game, see how the crowds react, see how ppl gather in their nation capital rooting for team playing overseas. then come back tell me how either bball and AF come close to equating what soccers done worldwide. soccers had international idols loooooooooong before the likes of magic and jordan.
…soccer has foreign nationals fans travelling to other countries to watch clubs play. CLUBS.
“bball fans got nuthin on soccer fans. no lame jumbotrons and cheerleaders required. ”
Yeah, only racism required.
Garnett likes Chelsea? What a d*ck rider! Go Toffees!
All you people saying soccer sucks go tell that to KG’s face. Man, KG is one scary motherf*cker. For the record: I am neutral on soccer/football fandom.
I tink theres mor 2 it dan soccer, KG/Adidas have something for S.A. I believe 2013 is when adidas contract ends with FIFA. Ensuring swoosh hyperdunk does not cross over into Pele’ like it dunked on Howard is necessary
Wow, that must be a quite big backyard.
